You comment about the pump in the G40 twice but no mention about the pump in the S40 , I would take that as the S40 has an inferior pump.Thanks for the honest review.

The s40 has a different pump but nothing to suggest its inferior as we haven't actually brewed on it yet, I wanted to highlight the g40 has the same pump as g70 so should be a great pump

Do the controllers on either of these have the variable power setting (as on the G30, where you hold the power button for a number of seconds), to allow them to be used as a boiler for a still? (I’m assuming that in time a lid might become available that would fit).

If your looking purely at price we would say checkout the Brewmonk or Beacon Brewster we think they are great machines for the pricepoint

Brewtools B40 wins again in the premium price range. 5 years warrenty. More power. And modular parts. Modern. GF G40 is not worth the € 1300 euro. When you can have a Brewtools b40 for €1650 in combination with my old immersion chiller.
