- Noticeable improvements with 12.4.2 on Test Loop 1.
Did the proper merge with turn signal.
Slowed for all speed bumps.
Signaled to exit suicide lane.
Looking good on this test loop. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
One of FSD’s biggest problems is that drivers make terrible passengers. 😂❤
No, drivers can *clearly* *see* all of FSD's flaws on the road. FSD is untrustworthy with your wife and child .
Dang it. I always forget that I watch CZcams on 1.75 speed and I'm thinking this is way to aggressive. LOL
I’d say best drive so far. Quite an improvement over early versions. Thank you for your consistency!
Thanks for uploading so quickly!!!
Impressed with the first drive, seems like an improvement.
Hands free and no interventions. I am impressed!
Appreciate the quick 12.4.2 video, James!
Smooth. FSD is in good shape.
FSD cannot drive for even 1 hour on a challenging route, without human intervention. And that is after 4 years in beta.
Not in good shape .
It is still a driver assist feature. I’m currently on 3.6 but I understand most of its quirks and seldom hesitate to override the cars decision. When testing the limits, getting out of people’s way is of more importance than waiting to see what it will do. Waiting as long as I would feel comfortable for another driver to wake up and drive before intervening.
Amazing. FSD 12.4 seems to solve a lot of issues that we've had with FSD 12.3 outside California and especially outside S.F. area. But as we can see it takes much longer for new releases now. FSD 12.5 will be probably even worse until it's polished. But, there is no competitor that is capable of doing this outside of premapped cities, and even there Waymo has its fails every day.
I don't have a Tesla but I'm an investor. When do you think it'll be ready for robotaxis?
@@PassportGaming the next major version 12.5 is a big change. Monitor that version
@@PassportGaming If you're an investor, you should be rather interested how well it's going to work in a year or more. Tesla might get a big win if FSD will be ready before competition. From my point of view, robotaxis are just a small step in a greater goal. Most people will want to have autopilots in their cars, even if they don't like electric cars or Tesla.
@Plajerity I know but I just wanted to know when it'll be ready to drive without occupants. I don't want it to get there before the economy/market crash. I'm waiting for tsla to go back to 100 so I can go all in again
@@Octamed _next major version 12.5 is a big change_
Tesla said the same thing about 12.4 , but that turned out to be another broken promise .
I didnt notice any comments on stopping at a stop sign and take off. That was a big point for this release, ie human comfort. I wish you covered that
Amazing piece of kit!
Looking good
It's wild to me that the biggest complaint at this point is lack of keeping up with traffic. Also the forced acceleration at the light to make a left hand turn needs to be looked at.
Video appears out of focus. Close up is excellent. Appreciate 4.2 drive. Thank you.
Awesome!
Definitely better. Thanks.
If one looks like it from a ”back seat passenger perspective” I feel like the speed inperfections won’t matter much for the experience :)
Only thing I hate about it is that it dances around the lane when it doesn't need to. I am always afraid that it's going to hit the curve.
Great video. I would like to see if the improvements fix the lane changes. The C++ lane changes were awesome and now you can't even get the thing to do a lane change at all, about 8/10.
👍
I've noticed that FSD doesn't accelerate to the speed limit if there is a stop, turn, or red light within a given distance. I think this could be adjusted a bit.
Make sense for comfort and efficiency. If you passenger on a robotaxi it would feel uncomfortable if it accelerates and directly step on the break once it reached the speed limit. Maybe they could make it based on the setting Chill / Assertive
The setting seems to be like half a mile which is too far. It always seems to be lagging.
Good video I appreciate it can you show us where the icon is for your eyes forward up top? Maybe some already know but I'm on 12.3.6 can't wait to get 12.4. 1, 2,3 or 4 Thx! 🇺🇸✌️
I cannot wait for 12.5 and 13.6
We are so close to robotaxis
Robotaxis are years away, when the current FSD requires 100 percent human supervision.
Fck YES 🎉
HYPE
Looks like it's better on regen braking. Did you notice any difference?
how is it in non auto speed mode, Does it go the speed you set and stay there?
Thanks for the quick look! First rule of video blogging in your car, tho? Clean your windshield. Sorry, that's my dad coming out in me. But keep 'em coming, clean windshield or not!
Please release it I’ll sign a waiver
You cannot sign a waiver for all the other drivers on the road, that are at risk because of a simpleminded FSD software.
Unfortunately the camera focus is only on the inside of the car. The outside would be great too. Maybe next time.
Still haven’t fixed the misalignment of MAX / AUTO for speed limit setting
The green light where you had to push the pedal to make it go, was that a green light or a green arrow? Sorry your video was really blurry I couldn't tell.
Cool, looks good
3:25 a little faSTER than the last one xD
Any better than 12.3?
You need to imagine yourself as a passenger in the backseat, using your phone etc just as you would in an Uber. You wouldn't worry or mention a single thing negative about this. So yeah, nit picky for sure. Which doesn't reflect the reality of just how safe and amazing this is to those out there that have never used FSD. I don't even think about the way it stops or turns anymore and haven't since v12 release. And stop worrying about people behind you or what they think. And if the car wait a second longer than you do when a light turns green it's because it is being safer than you. It's time you recognize FSD is better than you.
98% of my concerns are related to what people are thinking about what it does (which does matter to some extent for a practical purpose), 1.9% of them are “what in the hell did it think it saw,” and 0.1% are “yea not happening” interventions. There’s a highway exit that my MYP regularly will split the lane line on for hundreds of feet or drift from the middle lane into the left lane by a few feet on the curve. That is the most reliably inexcusable thing it does in my thousands of miles in the past few months. That and when there is a very long turn lane on a highway and instead of slowing down once it’s in the lane, it slows down in main traffic and then coasts down the turn lane.
"FSD is better than you"
We're not there yet. If we compare FSD to an average driver, it might be safer in some conditions, less safe in others. It also lacks a lot of "features", like avoiding potholes, or even just maintaining correct speed.
FSD will be better than professional drivers, just more consistent, doesn't get tired, can't fall asleep, etc. But it still needs a lot, probably a few years.
@@Plajeritydebatable I saw FSD 12.4.2 nudge over for debris in the shoulder poking into the lanes
@@blessguy5330 It's likely that it works sometimes. Especially in the case you're talking about. But I've seen 12.3.6 not avoiding potholes that were clearly visible on youtube video...
What if you wear sunglasses with eyes on them 😹
Just had my fsd subscription expired yesterday. As far as I know when I had it, it was still 12.4.1. As I watched video, it looks more or less the same with my MY before it expired. Maybe they have updated mine while my subscription was still active. But yes I agree, the latest now is much better than before. The only negative I noticed is when he is trying to change lane sometimes he is still reluctant and takes a while. Sometimes he will only change lane on second or third attempt even though the oncoming car from the lane he is changing is still way behind.
My eyes. Throw focus to outside the car
I'm not sure about the validity or logic of always driving at or over the speed limit. Advanced driving courses always talk about driving within the prevailing conditions. That's a judgement call each driver should make.
Amazing!
maybe clean your windshield before the next video would help the content. Great video otherwise
Zero permits, zero approvals, zero miles autonomously driven! 8/8 day because Reuters outed us here we come!
Also zero confidence in busy big cities, and new Model 3 has zero Turn Signal Stalk.
You're not "nitpicking" when you say you need the car to go the speed limit at a minimum. It's downright dangerous how slow it goes currently. V11 was far better for this reason alone.
disagree
Disagree. Yes, it generally needs to do the speed limit, but in this instance it had a turn in a few hundred feet.
In other builds yes It was often too slow, but so far this build looks good. If this was my Uber driver I would have been fine with it.
But everyday I see people racing so they can slam on their brakes for the red light.
Hanging out in an intersection too long - bad. Merging into traffic and requiring people to slam on their brakes - bad. This drive - appears fine
@@6681096 That kind of behavior may be okay where you live, but on the west side of los angeles it's unacceptable.
@@leanderleeco Come drive FSD in los angeles first before you make up your mind about that.
@@importon It has to modulate the speed. There are many instances where it has to slow down below the speed limit in off highway driving. They just need to keep working on the auto speed.
