    You really do need to FEEL what instant torque and AWD is like in these cars. There's nothing else from the factory really like it. I've come from decades of driving ICE performance cars, heavily tuned; had a supercharged 355 Camaro, just sold a tuned Stage II WRX which was phenomenal out of a dig. I test drove a Model 3 LR-not even a performance-and was blown away by how effortless it threw me back into the seat. If you're on the fence, just go test drive one. My new daily driver Model 3 Performance arrives this week, I can't wait. Now to look into a manual Supra or M2 for a weekend car... 😈😈

      @jukkasundberg Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@mrmichrom8553 a no-brainer if you don’t have one. If you have, you get way better suspension by putting Mountain Pass Performance parts or something else really designed for heavy driving. Also if people really look after comfort in performance cars (which I don’t understand at all), the only way to get is to get high quality adjustable suspension. The factory parts are never on that level, no matter how adaptive they try to make it. But yes for 60k, amazing car, cannot disagree.

    Nice review, thanks! But why was the 0-200 so incredibly slow (14,5s)? Was it in standard mode or was it in insane? Maybe too high motor or battery temperature?

    • @youonlyneedacar
      @youonlyneedacar  Před 2 měsíci +3

      Thank you, it was in insane mode but I don t really know if or why that was slow. I also did it on another try where the temperature was definitely lower and it felt similar. Could be that the temperature was too high (charged at the supercharger around 30% before starting the drive). Around minute 11 I did a 100-200 and that was even slower than the 0-200.

    • @youonlyneedacar
      @youonlyneedacar  Před 2 měsíci +3

      I just checked the times for the old performance and it does a 0-200 in 16 seconds. So around 14,5 (maybe 1s faster with optimal temperatures) could make sense, those 1.5-2 seconds are a big difference keeping in mind the new model has 53 hp less.

      Not to be a downer, but I don't think tesla is releasing any car with 500 mile range, best you will get is in the 400 range, which I think is plenty plus very fast charge rate, coupled with efficiency and Super charge network.
      More range means you will actually be sitting at a super charger longer if you want 100%.
      Even my Ford fusion has about 300 mile range, a tesla will actually be an upgrade for me in terms of range and efficiency.

    • @ProXcaliber

    Just note the lane discipline. If only semis and slower moving vehicles would be limited to the right lanes, our Interstates and all other limited access roads would be much safer and efficient to drive on.

    • @youonlyneedacar
      @youonlyneedacar  Před měsícem

      Being from Europe and seeing videos where 18 Wheelers drive on any lane, I think is just crazy and it would make me feel unsafe on the freeway, being used to them using the 2 lane only to overtake other trucks. I don t really know about other countries in Europe so much, but in Germany it is ilegal to drive in the left lane, if the right one is free to use. At higher speeds it can be tolerated because maybe changing the lane in some cases would be unsafe but as a rule, you always have to keep right.

      Just did a trip from Miami to Orlando, Florida, left home with 100% and got to my destination with around 25%. It was an afternoon drive, with a decent portion of it having awful rainy weather and traffic because of it. On a day to day though, I only charge to around 70% and drive around 50 miles per day, leaving me with about 60% by the end of the day. These things are crazy efficient. Also, keep in mind that technically anywhere there is power is a place you can charge. You don't only have to use Tesla chargers as there are adapters to use 3rd party charging stations, or you can also use the standard mobile charger to plug into a regular wall outlet. How fast or slow it charges can vary depending on what you are using to charge.
