Faster and more agile, but Idk if enough to compete with younger speed. I hope so, but Idk. I'm not an expert by any means, but I always wonder if he should train on fast foot movement (small stepping through obstacles and such) to REALLY try and build speed. He's VERY fast for his size, but like I said, Idk if fast enough. We'll see.

The neighbors haven't left their house since Brian and his family live there in the neighborhood. Brian's kids are the size of miniature goliaths and they're the least of their worries. As you say, kegs flying, trucks being pushed this way and that, sometimes Brian has a plane land and he pulls it, he's also training with brown bears and caribou (front hold and yoke with brown bear), and much more, such as Colorado Boulder for distance (Brian taking up piece of a mountain and walking with it, trees and all).
Well they should be honored to see it lol

@@NemeanLion- Oberst isn’t dumb. He knows he isn’t going to win outright. However, making a decent showing and rubbing elbows with the right people might be beneficial to his brand.
Don’t get me wrong, I know he’s BIG strong. The top 5 is just a brutal place right now and you have to be extremely well rounded to get there.
@@blackonefifty That’s a losing mentality, but maybe you’re right. Maybe that’s why it looks like he’s gained a lot of extra weight over the last year or so. But maybe also he’d become champion if he approached the competition as life or death as some competitors do. Guys like Hall, Shaw, Bjornsson and others are ready to legitimately die in training or competition to win. You can see he’s ridiculously strong but i wonder if you’re right and he’s just content to go through the motions.

It's probably really close to the world record height, maybe less than a foot or so. At this point, I don't see a reason as to why they wouldn't be attempting to throw that high, it's like a month before World's. I expect the record to be broken by Brian again this year. No one has the throwing skill or technique Brian has.
It's not 30 feet, atleast doesn't look close to it. Looks more like somewhere between 21-23feet which is still very good.
Okay, I know everyone always says this every time Brian gets ready for WSM. But something feels different this time. He's legit looking fierce right now. I think we're going to see some great things from him this year.
He's going to break all the records...all and by a wide margin...that's what all the training is for. He can and he will.
I’ve never done a keg toss, but on a superficial glance Brian’s choice of grip seems to be better for the transference of power.
Yea and unlike some other competitors Oberst has the height to do it that way comfortably.

Brian knows he cannot be the heaviest guy anymore going into WSM. Losing that weight it’s going to be awesome for him. Looks really good right now. Much more excited for him this year than I was last
He adapted really quickly - I hope this translates to an increase in overall performance.
He'll still contend for the heaviest though. Besides Gavin Bilton, Tom and Brian will be the biggest dudes there.
Watching Brian just makes me so proud and brings an unreal sense of inspiration and motivation🔥
The difference between a championship mindset and a competitor mindset is the way you train. Brain takes training is if it’s the real thing. He sprints to the bags and Robert takes a nice stroll to them. Love them both but it’s just interesting see how different they are

I know oberst is insanely strong, but he kind of looks like he doesn't push himself, he seems to have a that will do attitude, like he's not taking it seriously and just wants to be there, not to try to win, but to participate. I often wonder how he would do if he had a coach pushing him.
Oberst has been coasting for years. Somehow he gets that WSM invite even if he only competes once a year
That my be true, but you should also take in consideration, that Oberst is not used to train at this altitude. Even novikov had to use an oxygen bottle to keep going at the shaw classic..

i love obie and i never noticed this until now, but his beer gut really seems to be getting in the way of his atlas stone work
I thought the gut would kind of help hold it in place for the heavier stones.
Not so much his belly,but his beard...he rolls the stone up and it rolls up into his beard
@@KlaustheViking I think it prevents him from getting close enough to the stone to wrap his arms enough around it. He loses grip leverage and that makes it hard for him to pick up the stone. I've never seriously trained atlas stones before so I can't say for sure but that's my 2 cents

I'm not sure Roberts in the top 25 anymore. I think hes invited to World Strongestman events now more so on his character celebrity status. He's a known name in the strongman world similar to Nick Best. Maybe I'm wrong though maybe Roberts still in the top 25 rankings. I just know theirs some key names not competing. Hafthor (retired), Hall (retired), Licis (might return as some point), Kiehszkowski to name a few big names. This allowed some spots for some the fringe competitors to compete this year.

Man, watching this shows that being strong is not nearly enough to compete in WSM. Brian’s technique is so refined, and he is in some fantastic shape. He is really coming for #5 and it shows. Oberst can learn a lot more from Brian than just technique.

It's not as high as you think...
High altitude, heavy ass weight, explosive movements, and huge body mass. I’m guessing a shit ton.
A reg. workout for a normal person is 500-800 calories burned. My guess is they burn about 3000-5000. I could be wrong, but I think that's about accurate.
@@mohsin7702 it’s much higher than you think with them being 6’7-6’8 and 300+ pounds of lean body mass.
not that much... lol Looking over everything itll be about 300-500 calories in total for the whole training we saw. Moving the jeep probably burned the most calories. They’re training their muscles not burning calories here. Cardio burns wayyyyyy more calories than any weight lifting workout
