3 years ago we inherited a house with my moms cats.... We rehabed it and were going to rent it out but covid put a strain on us and we moved in. We had a back bathroom that was for cats so no smell in the house, and recently started working on it..... I literally cut a hole in the side of my house, (house is on a raised foundation, thought about making a trap door...) Then I bought a plastic deck box that fit 2 litter boxes for $100, built a stand for it so its level with our floors and installed a 120mm high tech variable speed computer fan for exhaust for $30 and when I told people of my plans they thought I was nuts..... oh, the door cost me $20. Now everyone thinks I'm a genius. I had to cover it temporarily during the summer because it was 100f in there but I spray foamed it and now its perfect. Took the cats a day to learn how to use it.
This whole deck box thing was temporary with plans to build one but now, why? lol Nailed it. This boat version is awesome as long as it had a ventilation fan, otherwise, half ass. :)

A true classic indeed. It was the Hatteras 53 MY with a cockpit added on. Notoriously wet ride but a tough, capable yacht. The owner stateroom is extra large, I think many of these yachts had another stateroom aft. This would be a fantastic live-aboard with the massive owner stateroom. The main salon is narrow due to the wide side decks and moderate beam of the 58 Yachtfish, but with different furniture and white paint is would feel comfortable. Thanks for the great tour.

Born in the 40's thank you. So i do remember the boats of the 60's and 70's I was around then and admired them. My favourites were oats like the Fairmiles made in England. Tbey were really sea worthy and pro ably more sea worthy than most modern boats.

An identical boat to what Gus of In too Deep has, so was familiar with the lay out and this is a great boat for a great price. Absolutely taken care off very well. If the engines and electrical wiring are still in good shape this is a super boat. If it was in Europe I would buy it in a heart beat. We have a 50 footer and always say :'we need a bigger boat', but we don't like the Ikea designed modern boats. This one ticks all the boxes. Spend another 100 on upgrades, such as stabs and interior and it will last another 40 years. These boats were built to last. Great tour. 👍👍

LOVE THIS YACHT!!! This is the sort of layout I'd want, completely exposed cockpit you can fish out of. Also I like the ladder up to the flybridge/helm, saves space. Although I could see that being a deal breaker for some, granny might still be with it and love to come along but that ladder, I dunno. The interior is like the Tardis, wasn't expecting all that room and storage(you could put galley stuff/provisions in the master bedroom closets since they are so huge). And that double engine room layout is SO DAMN COOL. Was expecting them to be crammed under the floor and be a real PITA like some other aft cabin boats, but man there is room to work in there and not bang your head. Plus you see things like that PEX piping, you know somebody loved this boat and spent some $$$$ maintaining it over the years.

Also a 90's baby and I feel this comment deep in my soul! 😂
As a Millennial, I have to admit that I do find it difficult to not be envious and a bit bitter sometimes, especially towards the Boomer generation...
But that probably has something to do with our generation inheriting so much of their debt and knowing that they were able to easily afford to buy their own house in their 20's and actually be able to pay it off and they had the luxury of being able to quickly build a life for themselves, where they could raise a family of 4 on only a single average salary, PLUS be able to afford a vacation home or boat or both. And even after all of that, they still didn't have to worry about their retirement and can actually enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Meanwhile, as a Millennial in my early 30's, I'm already worrying if I'll even be able to retire at all ever, just renting a crappy small apartment takes 2 incomes and still leaves us paycheck to paycheck with absolutely no hope of ever being able to save to purchase a home of our own, nevermind be able to afford to keep it, and the thought of extras like vacation homes, or expensive luxuries such as having a boat, are literally the equivalent of a unicorn to me. They might as well be just a dream or fantasy because I'll never see that in my lifetime. And as for having kids, we can't even afford to properly take care of ourselves and with the state of the world and especially the economy, where they would inherit an even more astronomical debt, I can't even imagine bringing children into this world.
Anyways, sorry for the rant. lol I just get carried away sometimes about this topic especially.

Rico, I can’t believe you overlooked what looked like an Am/FM radio with a CD player by the helm! Nice seeing a boat that appears to have been loved by its owners.

As the owner of a 70's Chris Craft, I fully appreciate this era of boating. A lot of things were happening then which influenced the way these boats were built and marketed. The one thing about Hatteras I don't particularly like is the simplicity of the interior finishes. A little too plain in my view. Even my budget minded 35 dc seems to have a slightly more pleasant interior. That said if I was moving up it would be to the 53 or 58 Hatteras. My dream would be the 50 Chris Craft which is the epitome of the style I love. Great video!!

I was 17, when this Great Hatteras 60 was Built. Some unfortunate things are the air handler under the Dinette; Kids only zone? The overall quality, wood work and upgrades make this one a bargain,, when compared to a new build. The owner's cabin is amazing, Kitchen is fantastic. Range is the only thing lacking on this Wonderful example of American boat building prowess.
    Another super Nautistyles tour. .

Nice layout on this one. First time I've seen one like it. Always liked the aft cabin designs, due to the lack a fishing/lower rear area I never looked at them much. Thanks for showing it.

This classic beauty from 1978 is five years
years younger than me and visually in excellent condition. My "keel laying" was in June 1972 and the launch in February 1973. Back to the classic beauty that you have shown us in such detail today. The layout is unusual, but what impresses me most is the excellent condition
(I think I should perhaps have a refit done on myself 😏).
I'm not normally a big fan of dark wood, but here in combination with the other colors - top 👍😀. I am happy every weekend as soon as I get the notification that a new video of my favorite yachties is available. Greetings from Germany

Another really good for real review of this Hatteras 58' Yacht. Reason I say real is because both of you actually forgot to mention important thing this boat had to offer. You did however get corrected by one another of your mistakes which itself was funny. Looking forward to next video

Great Video. I own a 1979 Hatteras 58' YachtFisher (Triple Cabin Layout) that I live aboard. At 2 minutes you mentioned the guagues in the cockpit, the one right by the Master Stateroom escape window is for the Laz fuel tank and the aft one is for the water tank. At 4 minutes the catch pointed out on the fordeck leads to the Forward stateroom. At 10 minutes there is absolutely a lower helm station, it got removed. At 14 minutes the "deep storage" is just an Ice box, has no refrigeration but serves as a place to keep things frozen. At 20 Minutes, those are speakers they are placed all around the vessel. As for the specs, unless this was a special build with bigger fuel tanks (which is absolutely possible) the amount of fuel space is closer to 1300 US Gallons. Thanks for the video

Great boat! Good to see there are nice boats in this price range. If I could sell my house now I could buy this, but I need a year or two to get my retirement square.
I was born in Sept of '79, so it's nice to ne this close to retirement already. I just want to relax, hand with my kids, and fish.
