It performs well in the snow. I have a 2016 Trailhawk and even though it’s not a manly looking vehicle, for the price and what you get, It’s well worth it.
I'd kinda like to see the vehicle performing in snow and less of seeing you discuss how the vehicle performs in the snow.
You can skip it you know.

That thing did awesome in that 1/4" of snow....
Sand mode is the fun one... the gas peddle is frisky, the steering is quick and the rear end comes alive 👍. I’ve found auto mode works the best for most all road conditions even on snow... I think snow mode works best on icy icy roads with it’s delayed heavy steering and less responsive brake peddle.

I have a 2015 Lattimore 4x4, 9 speed automatic & live in the mountains. I put it in 4x4 snow mode & take it out of anti skid in order to maintain control without stopping. So far, its been great driving up a semi steep snow filled driveway. I have almost 65k miles on it.
Hey I’m glad to see another man has a renegade like me. Seems to be a chick car. I live in the beautiful Durango Colorado at 6,500 feet about sea level I purchased the Renegade Upland which comes with pretty much everything the latitude does. Except for a couple small features. I drove it today in about 9 inches of snow with no issues. In fact I drove right around a huge Ford truck we just couldn’t seem to get traction. Thanks for the video I appreciate you.
The art of war Is boxing I have a Trailhawk, sand colored. Glad I got the color I wanted because they discontinued the sand.
LordOfNothingham I have the upland addition in alpine white. We just received 10 inches of snow today and I’m driving around the big trucks like nothing.
Glad you made this. I have a 2017 Renegade 4x4 Sport 6-speed that works very well in the snow and over the potholes in Chicago. Love my slow little Jeep
I own a Jeep Renegade upland edition. Its a basic jeep with 4X4 system, it work great in snow, we recently had a big snow storm and my jeep went through 12 inches of snow in auto mode. For the snow mode it great for driving when the snow is falling and is caked on the roads and you will have zero slippage. But if you want to get unstuck 4x4 lock or Auto works just fine. Haven't tried sand and mud mode yet.
SO I SHOULD PUT IT ON AUTO AND SNOW??? I AM TERRIFIED AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO I DON’T WANT TO SLIDE ON THE HIGHWAY HEADING TO WORK…..

The best factory tires I have ever had are on my Cherokee trailhawk. They put a set of $800 firestones on there from the factory
Mine is similar, But mine has a 9 speed Auto ( I would prefer the manual ) I have a 1.3 turbo.. making 177 hp and 210 ft-lb of tq. Mine is a Lattitude, with the Upland Edition.. has same 8.7 inch lift as the trail hawk as well as the skid plates under it. Mine also can turn off the ESC.
You can also disable the ESC on the 9 speed 2.4L. Also in snow mode you should notice a different feel to the steering as well as the throttle. Steering input is slower and it gives a heavier feel to the power steering.
My wife has the 2.4l auto since nobody had a manual available within 100+ miles. Going to have to check this out.
OK NOW I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE MY RENEGADE IN THE SNOW. I HAVE THE TRAILHAWK AND I AM STILL LEARNING THE FEATURES HOWEVER I DO NOT WANT TO SLIDE AND CRASH IN THE SNOW HEADING TO WORK…… ANY ADICE???

I hate that they never offered the stick in the trailhawk. I love manual transmissions. You don't need traction control when you can just up shift before the power can spin the tires, am I right? I just drive my 5 speed silverado in 5th because I know it will never have to power to spin out. (It's just a plain Jane work truck).
In snow mode, with an automatic, it would also start in 2nd gear.
I live in Sweden and my jeeps door locks always gets frozen and stuck no matter how many times I spray them with oil.

I have a steep driveway that goes around in a half circle, and my girlfriend's renegade went it up it no problem with 8 inches of fresh snow on top of ice (with all season tires)

Snow mode starts off in 2nd gear to limit slip
My 2018 renegade TH starts in second gear all the time. I have only ever used 1st gear when in rock mode 4x4 low. Or you have to put it into 1st with the auto stick.
Wow the turbo has less HP than the 2.4 but more torque. That’s weird
Snow mode causes the Jeep to start in second gear in Cherokee.... For the Jeep compass and probably for the Jeep renegade it's already starting in second gear anyway because the 4 low is is "fake".. then what they do is 4 low is just first gear...
Hi I just seen a video and I was thinking about purchasing a 2015 jeep renegade latitude manual six speed 1.4 turbo 4 x 4 I live in New York upstate and I was wondering how good is it in the snow driving around Is it very good with snow tires or is it not worth getting have to drive a lot of up and down hills
Good video, now I’m curious to see what my wife’s ‘11 Liberty Limited has as far as different driving modes. Never tried anything other than 4-wheel lock and auto.
You are not going to have all these goodies. You will either have Part time 4WD or the FULL time 4WD system, without all these goodies.
Have to understand what four wheel drive locked means. When you go around a turn at any speed you will see some jerking with any vehicle that locks 4 wheel drive. That’s because all 4 wheels are locked at the same speed.
Basically it's pretty good. It's not perfect but it'll suffice.
They put the same ones on the compass trailhawk and I swapped my wife's out for the real falcon wild peaks that are three diamond rated and they are way way better

I'm a new england girl. Been driving in the snow for 30+ years. I've been looking to get one of these. It will be my 9th jeep. Can it get me up a hill in 4wd? The rest I can handle..
It shouldn’t have a problem getting up hill in the snow. The limiting factor would be the tires so if you’re unsure, a set of snow tires would surely help.

What happened to "Hey, what's up it's Cathy!" Nice video. Maybe you should have had a camera mounted on the outside of the vehicle to show how the different modes reacted to what you described - like you showed towards the end. It may mean having a Go Pro mounted inside and outside your car (that would be 2 Go Pros), or a Go Pro mounted outside and a cell phone mounted inside, or shoot it twice with one Go Pro, but that would be time consuming. I'll tick the 'Yes' box so I can see your Chevy SS with traction control off and in the snow :-) The only snow where I am during winter is high up and I'd be force to wear snow chains. No thanks.

I do still have it! Just hit 36,000 miles last week and have t had any issues with it since the vibration problem over a year ago now. I do still enjoy driving it, especially in snowy weather.

Dylan Wood the Cruze would likely get better mpg but the Renegade would be my choice because it’s better for bad weather and way more spacious
