    Just a quick thank you for a very informative video. I'm usually very careful about researching new things I do but I quite stupidly didn't research set up of a spray gun when using my own new one for first time just figured would be fairly fill it and go and made a bit of a mess of my first coats of top coat on a machine restoration in doing, watched your vid evening after mess up. Went into Workshop next day with your info in head and got gun set up spot on and have managed to rescue the paint finish on my machine. Big thanks 😊🙏

    I have a set of cheap Harbor Freight guns and they worked well for my last project that I used them on, but I thought I was using a lot of paint and now I know why that is. I probably had the fluid tip open way too far and was wasting color and had my fan too wide so I was painting the open air almost as much as the project. This was a great video thanks. In other DIY spray can video you do, you wet sand 800G between clear coats also you have previously used 2k clears over Montana paints. Is 2k clear for acrylic base coats? Or is it only certain ones? Also is the to wet sand between clear coats always needed either DIY OR PRO and why? Also can you make some DIY Videos on spraying custom components eg CRANKS, Stems, seat posts, hubs and fixing bolts for these pieces eg silver bolts to black or eg a black seatpost that is all scratched how to do a blended/ repair/ refurbished paint finish all at the same tim making sure to discuss how to make the end product paint as factory durable for the particular parts as the tend to cop the most abuse when riding! I've been watching a lot of painting videos. I've been looking for these hvlp guns, since basically it is used 9 times out of 10. But then I found that for example this "custom z warrior" channel used RP gun with some clear coats and explained it would be the best for clears. So, is there any big difference for beginner/intermediate worker for lets say 1 gun and it would have to do all jobs? Just wondering. And what would be the difference between HVLP vs RP guns..

    • @ETOE
      @ETOE  Před 4 lety +1

      HVLP is high volume low pressure. RP is reduced pressure. Both have approx 65% transfer efficiency. RP needs more air approx 290L/min. HVLP only 170L/min. I love the LVLP with a split nozzle for clear aplication.

    Sorry Brother, But I’m only 2 minutes in and I’ve heard some HORRIBLE ADVICE!!! You say you can’t spray overhead, or that you need a “bottom feed” gun???
    WRONG!!!!!
    The 3m PPS cup system is absolutely Wonderful for correcting that problem, and is what most ALL Professional shops & painters use these days!!! You basically put the cup on, turn it upside down and allow it to suck the air out, Then you are good to spray overhead as much as you want and you won’t get a DROP ON YOU!!!
