In this video I show you how to Mod your FM Tuner on your BMW E65 E66 750i 750li so that you can plug a aux cable into your phone and play music through your cars radio. Just carried out this mod on my 2004 745LI all works well, very nice clear sound even without the logic 7 amp which no longer works brilliant mod, logic 7 amp next job
Gents, Just tried this on my 06 750i. Worked like a charm. The quality of the sound is very impressive. Great instructions. Hardest part was getting the solder to stick for me, otherwise pretty straight forward and easy to do. Thanks for the video, now I have quality tunes!
Works 100%, HQ sound, run cable via door sealing and under the steering wheel to the center console, finally I have AUX now :) thanks

Mines looked little different for the ground location on my board. Definitely use a high quality cord (New) don't chance it with a cheapy. Not that it takes forever to solder, but why risk it. I know the quality Bluetooth can produce , I even already bought the adapter for the back of the ask unit but .....I'm about to refund it because I'm so impressed with the quality. Sounds really good. Like vinyl record quality. Thank you for this thumbs up

need some info on 2008 e65. started the vehicle this morning when I wanted to start it again this afternoon it would not start and was getting error message of park brake failure and suspension fail. could this just be due to bad battery as the car is not being used often. will appreciate some advice. thanks

Hi I just did this mod with your excelent guide, but the sound quality is bad, you can hear crackling and pop sound while playing music. When i pause or stop it is all quite and no "bad" sounds.
Any suggestions?
Does this eliminate logic 7 / asc static?
I’m currently about to add a fiber optic lollipop to diagnose/ eliminate until further repairs made. This seems far more efficient than an Bluetooth transmitter.

This does work, I have had it working for 8 months now. When im parked, its clear sound. However, when driving and at moderate to high volume, theres a lot of hissing over the music, and really noticeable in between songs, any thoughts??

I have a 2003 745Li, and replaced the battery in the fall, but my key fob started to only work intermittently to open doors, trunk, etc. then the keyfob would not go into the accepting module and I discovered my newly replaced battery had died, Any ideas for the key fob and why a new battery would be dead after 7 months?

Hi please can you help me. Ive been at this mod for the last three days and it just wont work! its something with the ground wire, it doesnt matter where i ground it to (including the place in the video where he grounded it to the motherboard) there is no sound.. When i remove the ground wire I get very bad sound, i put the ground wire back in place then no sound at all.. pls help!
I put in an MMI retrofit android car play screen and this would be perfect but i guess after i install it if it is hidden behind everything there will be no way to have fm radio again.... or i could put a disconnect switch somewhere.
i did everything twice and when i plug in my phone it doesnt even register that i plugged in headphones and when it does it sounds horrible. any suggestions?

Hey i got thinking after i made the mod to my 04 E65. What if i hide the cable and put the aux in to aux to bluetooth adapter. If its shut down will it interfear with my FM or not. If somebody has tried that give me heads up when no then i will try it soon.
Dear,Aswome stuff and Good videos in your you tube channel, it was help me all the time.I have 750i 2006.I have a problem brother, there is white or blue smoke is come from the exhaust and the engine oil level is reducing.I changed the CCV for both side as your video,it was in bad condition, but not solve the smoking problem.
Now my car now start up the engine, even yesterday I changed the new battery but still not start.Hope you to solve my problem.
Valve stem seals need replacing. If they're not too far gone you can buy a botttle or two of Lucas engine oil leak stop, it swells the seals and makes them soft again. Works wonders it reduced mine dramatically. As for it not stating, does nothing at all happen when you press the start button? if so, you need to replace the IVM module (integrated voltage module) AKA integrated supply module, pretty cheap fix costs around $100 and you can replace it yourself in 10 mins, no coding needed.
Thanks a lot .. I replaced the IVM as your advise , my car now start normally and no issue.
The great news is the value seal also changed as your advise, finally no smoke any more.
One more problem, the rpm is moving when the car in the parking position.
On the diagnostic, it show P0024, P0113,P0019 and P0100 codes.
I changed the MAF (mass air flow) sensor, but still the rpm moving.

Hi, very glad to be of help! looking at the codes it seems the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors need to be replaced. Rpm.s going up and down could be many things, I would also check for any vacuum leaks, check that all the intake clamps are tight. Have someone rev the engine while another listens for any suction/whistling sounds in the engine bay. Another thing you can try is to take out and clean the Vanos solenoids, they are know to become dirty and clogged resulting in rough idle. Easy job, takes a few mins to take them out, clean and put them back in! :)
Wow I wish I seen this video before I went and ordered the oem original cord that connects to the back of the radio ,I seen another you tube video and am pretty good on figuring things out but I did get screwed on this oem cable because I don't have the aux feature on my screen, I do have a launch x431 v+ but don't see an option on any type of coding available for adding aux feature to my I drive.
I think that you need to use NCS Expert to change nicht_activ to active for Aux in the MMI module. Then Aux will show up on your screen.

@@richyrich5080 Is that one that works through your FM radio? To be honest, I have done the same because I could not pry off my trim piece round the ASK unit - it started to crack before it would come off. I have my AUX cable in its packet still.

I did this mod yesterday toy 2006 750li. I rechecked everything and I did exactly as you did but it doesn't work. When I plug the phone in I hear the radio cut and it gets quiet but when I hit play on the phone it plays through the phone speakers instead. I can only assume it's an issue with my phone. Anyone have any suggestions?
Mine was the same, what I found is you need to buy an older model Tuner, from a 02/03 model. Its possible the new tuner will need coding to the car in order to work properly. When I say new tuner, I mean the older model you will have to buy. I haven't fitted my new tuner yet so Ill let you know if coding is needed.
But as you have the facelift model I suggest you just buy the OEM aux cable, it connects to the CD changer. Well, it replaces the CD changer.

If you have one there is no need for this mod, because you would just plug in a aux cable from that port into your phone, you must have a 2007-2008?
