    Hi all :) Go ahead and leave any experiences you’ve had with the Winnu or any feedback for the guides down here. I’m too new to do any community polls, so any comments on factions you’d like next will heavily influence where it goes!

    POK pushed Winnu into more of a high value planet claimer faction rather than a expansionist faction. This is very nice for them and plays very well into their focus of Mecatol Rex.

    Decent breakthrough of winnu, moments of odd pauses, but nothing that can be improved on.
    Winnu went from worst and weaker faction to one of the more stronger faction to the untrained eye.

    I wish the started with one mech. If some is playing L1Z1T, you should try to get them to use their ability to upgrade one of your infantry to a mech.
    Choosing Sarween tools at the start let’s you build a carrier, a mech and two infantry with just your home planet and advisor.
    In the first round, one weakness is not having enough resources to follow technology, which makes Trade, Technology and Diplomacy tempting. However, Warfare should always be chosen if available.

    Nice video and great that you in the Mahact-video and this, always follow up a strategy or what a card does, by physically showing it while you read it. Would love if your next video was on the Titans of Ul as I love playing as them, but they can be tricky to figure out.

    A couple of flubs and editing mistakes but a very good vid. Yet again I like how you work talking about their lore into their rules. The Loseu might actually win with these changes! I think their commander especially is a game changer and I also think its boost to legendary planets shouldn't be underestimated.

    Great explanations, I have gone through some of them and I do like them. It is good to get an update even if I do not have the time to play at the moment. I complained about the music in another clip, perhaps a bit harsh. It does not help, but it is ok-ish. I think you have removed it in the later clips, so all good. I have no problem with you being visible at your end discussions, I mean you are speaking to the viewer so it is good.

    Whats better is if you do get imperial and take MRex, you can use the hero to pop politics after it's been popped and steal the Speaker Token.

    Thanks for making this content! PoK certainly fixed Winnu. It is now more interesting and competitive. The PoK changes leave Arborec as the lone worst faction (although they are certainly interesting).
    Note, there are six available PDS units, not five. (19:15)

    Ideas for fighting the Winnu. Prevent them from taking Mecatol Rex if you can. If you can't, make it as difficult as possible (within reason) for them to get imperial. If they do take Mecatol, try to get them off before they get a foothold. Either that, or race through objectives as fast as you can.

    If you're going warfare round one how are you getting that mech?
    Beside that Politics and gravity drive is also good way to go to mecatolu. Be the first round two

  • @Straddllw
    @Straddllw Před 3 lety +2

    “You never have to take construction again.”
    Be me. Plays Winnu in 4p. Gets secret objective that says have 3 space docks. Thought to myself, score!!! Makes carrier and mech. Moves mech to new planet round 2. First exploration in round 2 gives me demilitarised zone so I’m unable to land and construct. Follows construction. Immediate reactor meltdown. My carrier gets blown up before I can get to mecatol. Next round, Follows construction again. And then someone blows up my planet with a relic just because. I ended up swapping the secret objective out for 4 techs in 1 colour. Why do people hate Winnu? I’m not even ahead. Mechs didn’t do much for me. Was targeted because the hero ability is too scary. I never got a large fleet, simply because of production limitations due to never getting a second space dock up for long enough. Space dock 2 was out of reach too because I went all blue + sarween due to my secret objective.

    • @Straddllw
      @Straddllw Před 3 lety

      Oh and it’s really not even huge battles that slowed me down. It’s just a few opportune action cards, an unlucky relic and such. Opponents didn’t invest in lots to stop me, I was just easy to stop following a bad start and an unlucky exploration draw.

    • @johnmay9598
      @johnmay9598 Před 3 lety

      This is sort of what I'm wondering about... the base game Winnu sometimes resulted in the rest of the table preventing the Winnu from taking Mecatol being priority 1. Now it seems like that is going to be an even more urgent priority - i.e., "it's so important that this not happen that I'm hesitant to even fight for it and potentially give the Winnu player an opening".

    • @CardboardCrashCourse
      @CardboardCrashCourse  Před 3 lety +1

      I can understand that. They do work even more as a glass cannon now in some situations, unfortunately. The only thing is they actually have the resources, tech, and power to not have to rely on others paving a way for them every time now. Dropping in from a legendary or wormhole onto Rex is a power move and can actually level other people’s fleets now, instead of them being vanilla in terms of combat. They definitely aren’t the best or even close by any means, but my main point is that if you get screwed, you still have other stuff to do now. Unless you’re OP, and in that case... that’s rough

    • @Straddllw
      @Straddllw Před 3 lety +1

      @@CardboardCrashCourse I certainly would stay away from picking Winnu in tournament. No matter how many buffs they get, their strategy is too obvious and the meta can stop them pretty easily. Who's planet should you blow up? Who to play reactor meltdown or that card that destroys PDS on a planet? The answer is always Winnu (or Saar for Reactor Meltdown).

  • @Lukec141
    @Lukec141 Před 3 lety +1
