    Pretty bloody good for a first video. If I had any constructive criticism I'd say dont be afraid to do more edits. I loved the cutaways showing how abilities work but I noticed some flubs. Felt like you were doing most of it in one take. I'll say it again though I really liked when you cut away to show abilities working. I also loved how you talked about their lore and worked their lore in throughout the video. Nice setup too. Everything looked nice and was clear. Great job.

      Wow, that’s too kind! Thank you so much. I’m definitely working to improve the fluidity and editing style, so expect that to improve with experience and time. But I appreciate it and I’m glad you enjoyed!

    Even though this video is 2 years old at the time of writing, I wanted to share a thought I had while watching.
    I'm going to be playing a game of mahact in a couple weeks, and I plan on going slightly into blue, for Sling Relay and Carrier 2, as well as crimson leagonaire 2. This would allow you to produce a couple carriers with 6 capacity, load them up with a total of 12 infantry, and when those ships and units die, you get 6-12 recourses, and can do the whole thing all over again for free. Colonizing anything you want. Throwing that in with a fleet you actually pay for seems really good

    I absolutely love the video it was extremely insightful! I’ve seen a few other faction guides but they’re not nearly as insightful, they come across as far more casual. Like one completely passed on the Commander saying you’d use him only once or twice. But this guide was amazing
    I only have one request, PLEASE find a way to increase the volume on your recording, it sounds a little like your trying to talk from the other end of the hallway lol

    Here's a little tip to people watching this. You can sell your agent in exchange for other players sending a ship into your fleet.
    For example, round one you can create a fleet comprised of your cruiser, dreadnought, and a fighter. Send it to a spot within range of their destroyer/cruiser. Tell your neighbor that you will remove one of their command tokens when they use their strategy card if they send their destroyer/cruiser into your fleet to die. Sacrificing a trade ship in exchange for early expansion and a stronger round 2 will be worth it, giving you an early combat win.

      You are totally right, thanks for the tip! That’s very helpful

      I honestly think knowing HOW to use the agent will separate the Good Gene Wizards from the Top Tier Gene Wizards. Like know when and how will make this Faction S+ tier in my opinion.

    Great analysis! I've seen quite a few and yours was the most thorough. One thing I'd like to see is examples of board states where you can demonstrate the strategies you discuss. I am a visual learner and I believe this would be very helpful! Nice work I'll be waiting for the next!

    One thing to note with the mech is that you can use it on your own token, allowing you to stall indefinitely by activating a system then pulling your own token.

    • @CardboardCrashCourse
      @CardboardCrashCourse  Před rokem +3

      Although powerful, it's not infinite. You only have as many uses as your fleet pool size, since it still "spends" it into your reinforcements. Good point anyway, though!

  • @francescognerre2408
    @francescognerre2408 Před 3 lety +4

    IMO Ixth is a pretty bad home system.
    The 3 resources is not enough for tech round one, and the 5 influence is only enough for 1 command token from leadership later on. The mahact really need diplo to be picked round one, which is a huge disadvantage unless they are in a 6+ person game where it can be pretty much guaranteed to be picked round one, or at least be in a 50/50 to be picked.

    Ideas for fighting the Mahact. Invest in anti-infantry units, especially bombardment ships. Try to limit their command token income. If you don't need anything else, take leadership. Also, avoid making them mad, if you can. If you can't, try to eliminate their fleet as quickly as possible.

    • @CardboardCrashCourse
      @CardboardCrashCourse  Před rokem +1

      They have an absolute beast of a military, so assault cannon can do some damage in taking out their carriers to remove infantry in the post-combat space area. Great tips!

    Why do you think their home system is so good? Do you think both resource values can be used? They start with less than 4 resources which is automatically bad.

    Wait 1 sec, if a player who has command tokens on your sheet uses your promissory note they will be placing a command token of their own on a system that contains their units.... Interesting.

    • @connoroneal7405
      @connoroneal7405 Před 4 měsíci

      I think that the player using the promissory note doesn't have to put their own token down, since the wording states that every OTHER Player puts down a token, assuming the Mahact player has taken most tokens it functions like a free diplomacy card

    Super OP broken faction if you can ensure consistent strategy token income. Ffs they have WARFARE as a permanent ability. They have access to ALL other faction commanders...their mechs have the same ability as another factions special technology....just silly.

  • @sanguineaurora8765
    @sanguineaurora8765 Před rokem

    This faction is the literal definition of power creep.
    So blatantly overpowered compared to base game factions that most players who pick it get focused down and annihilated by their neighbors in round 2.
    This faction is unfortunately unplayable in competitive because of how poorly designed it is.
    Looking cool does not mean a good game experience for the table, and this faction like the Cabal, take player agency away from other players and have maybe upwards of 6-7 free command tokens all the time.
    This faction should be get codexed.
    Mech ability should be removed completely for a start.
