    ----------------------------------
    -One of the biggest mistakes I made along my first natural hair journey was the consistent use of heat.
    -My second time around I am using more no heat methods to stretch my natural hair.
    -Why is stretching important? Not everyone needs to stretch their natural hair. My hair is kinky and very tightly coiled, so I do benefit from a good stretch. Stretching the natural hair minimized knots and tangles.
    1. Start off with freshly washed hair (don't forget to apply your leave in)
    2. Put the hair into a single pony tail or two ponytails. (whatever you are comfortable with)
    3. I use a boar brush to slick down my edges, but you can use hands only if preferred
    4. I secure my self with a goody band.
    5. I braid the ponytail and secure the end of the hair with a goody band.
    6. Use a satin scarf to tie the hair down and make sure that it stays secure throughout the night
    7. In the morning the hair should be dry or atleast 80-90% dry.
    8. Style as usual (Enjoy Your Stretched Hair!!!) :)
    -----------------------------
    =Styling Tools=
    The brush I am using is similar to the Conair Styling Essentials Basic Styling Brush
    I also use a regular boar brush. :)

    Nononono. This girl right here went from fully out hair, product dashed in WITHOUT sectioning and then used a brush, again without sectioning and and brushed in back into one?!?!??!!??!
    How sway?!?!?!? *HOW*??!?!?!
    Also, if I did this, I'd be looking at 3 full days before my hair fully fully dried, definitely not 'the next morning'.

  • @ClassyDdiamond
    @ClassyDdiamond Před 5 lety +1

    Ok. I use the LCO method for my high porosity 4b/c hair (that’s weave on my profile picture) and for the life of me I can’t protect my ends. ONCE IN A WHILE I’ll have gel like eco style or Cantu gel. Just last night I tried to pineapple method so I’m not re twisting every single night because I know I can be rough. Any suggestions?

    • @AliciaJames
      @AliciaJames  Před 5 lety +2

      High porosity hair loves protein. Do you do protein treatments? Also, you need consistent deep conditioning. Is that something you already do? Hair retention has so many different levels to it. If you are doing all of the right things with your method, it could be something internal like your diet, stress, daily activities, etc.

    • @ClassyDdiamond
      @ClassyDdiamond Před 5 lety

      Alicia James you may just answered my question. I’m actually sick because of stress. But as for products I’m trying to find a good deep conditioner now. I used to use a simple conditioner and use herbs like amla and other Indian powders. As for protein I use to use egg or the Aphogee once every other month. I’m about to start the rice water with oils soon as a liquid.

    • @AliciaJames
      @AliciaJames  Před 5 lety +4

      @@ClassyDdiamond When I am really stressed my edges start to thin. I'm still growing them back. School is kicking my butt. I do a lot of meditation now, and I feel really good now! For my deep conditioning I use 100% extra virgin olive oil. :)
