  • Rishi Sunak has announced the next general election will be held on July 4.
The Prime Minister made the announcement after briefing the Cabinet on his plans in 10 Downing Street this afternoon.
Mr Sunak’s decision to hold a snap contest this summer represents a major political gamble, with the Tories currently lagging behind the Labour Party in the opinion polls by around 20 points.

Does he still live in the UK he doesn't seem to know what's really going on, I guess he's busy counting his £120 million bonus that he worked so hard for.

Utterly rubbish comment and such a lowbrow idea of what UK politics is really like. The only right-wing leader the tories have had in the last fourteen years was ejected by the blob in under two months. Any leader that strays too far left or right is doomed. All that remains is the grey goo in the centre that makes nobody happy.

But even I have to say I feel just a tinge of sympathy for the prime minister after this shambolic speech. Visually, this speech seems an appropriate representation of the state of the Tories’ electoral prospects and the overall tone of their campaign.
