Hi, I'm Alexandra. I believe life can be both glorious, tricky and even painful.. which we all know. Beauty is a practice I have enjoyed from early childhood as a way to build my confidence in myself. Not just on "special" occasions, but in my every day life and decision making. On my CZcams channel I show you practical steps and psychology to understand and apply methods in all areas of beauty; inclding fashion, makeup, hairstyling and femininity, to help us evolve and transform into our personal visions. I believe when a girl feels good about herself, she can make better choices for herself in ALL areas of life. Welcome to my channel, I'm glad you found me.

Sharing a lifehack: I usually apply the mask to the very ends first, then to the mid sections and so on. This way I make sure my ends get the most of the product.
I thought that’s how everyone did it 🤦🏻♀️
Me too
It’s a good notion to apply conditioner this way too!!
Yeah she's actually doing it wrong...if she started from the bottom and worked her way to the top it would be easier.
2 Things 🤩
1. You can assume replacing your conditioner with a mask 1/2 of the time will help with the health of your hair. If you would like to make your whole hair texture smoother* (if it's coarse* and no this won't be as effective as a chemical smoothing treatment) I recommend using mask's each time you wash! Personally, I rarely use conditioner only - unless I'm in a real rush!
2. A mask acts like a more professional-version of a conditioner - meaning, you don't' *need* to use a conditioner after the mask. I suggest a leave in conditioner/blow-dry cream after washing if you use a blow dryer (+ heat protection).
Note: On several occasions, I have used a mask, rinsed it out, and applied a conditioner overtop then rinsed it out. If you have coarse hair, like me, you might love doing this! It's a little extra but it works to add as much elasticity as possible to your dry hair
the effort you put on your videos, the edit, everything is just immaculate
I used 'Philip Kingsley Elastisizer' ONCE and my hair dresser said that my hair was looking SO healthy and to KEEP DOING WHATEVER IT IS YOU'RE DOING.
I felt like a kid getting a sticker & good job well done from the dentist 🤣
I got this mask too because a hair influencer recommended it (but sadly haven’t used it as much as I should), this video (and the comment from your hair stylist!) definitely made me want to get consistent with hair masking. I always want to earn my hair stylist approval, lol
@@ShailaBano 🥰
for me PK was even better than olaplex😍😅
@@bellaluka1735 WHOA! That’s high praise! What’s your process to apply it? After shampooing on damp hair or do you apply to dry hair and leave for a few hours?
After shampooing on damp hair😀
it makes my hair very soft, even though mine is very dry at the ends
I have oily and wavy hair, I use Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Oil mask every week and it makes a crazy difference in my hair. It's so much shinier and healthier ever since I started being consistent with it!
I am a curly girl and I needed this so much. My hair is so much alike your natural hair.. so you can imagine how dry it could be!
Curly girls uniteeeee 👊
My advice, as a girl with curly and, finally, healthy hair, would be - be careful with shampoo ingredients, switch between protein and moisturizing masks every wash, use natural DIY masks for scalp since it can get dry, use beer or gel if needed for definition, and some nourishing leave-in after as a protection from outside factors
@@la.femme11 It sounds right! I ll try! Thank you very much!!
@@Kiara_Wrestler There are tons of curly girls on CZcams, & most of them are great, but my favorite is StacyCurlyCourtney - you might want to look her up to learn all about making curly hair healthy!
This video literally told me nothing. 🤨
My favorite hair mask is “Twist strengthen the bond”. I saw it on Manes by mell’s video where she explained the science behind the product and how it works. Another favorite is Shea moisture Manuka honey moisture mask, also discovered it thanks to Mel.
So helpful as always ❤❤❤
3:00 the lamellar technology is amazing. Just a word of caution: if you leave it on longer than recommended it will burn your hair. Thankfully, this never happened to me but my hairdresser has seen a lot of destroyed hair because the clients thought “the longer the better… probably won’t hurt”. So please be careful and always follow recommended application guidelines. They are there for a reason ❤
Wow I’ve pinned this because that’s very important to know! I sensed it was important because it says only use for 8 seconds but I wish the bottle had a clearer statement like that! Thank you sooooo much!!!
@@AlexandrasGirlyTalk can you share ur opinion on egg white mask
Is it beneficial for hair ?
😀😀😀
N lots of love 😘😘😘❤️
One of your most visually satisfying video's yet, Alexandra! One of my best beauty secrets is being subscribed to your channel. Thanks for all you do!!
Never heard of a hair gloss but going to try it now thanks to you!
So happy to see a new video from you! And this one is soooo needed right now! Thank you!
Alexandra, this video inspired me more than you know. Immediately after watching, I spent the whole evening using bonding, masks, and proper washing and styling techniques like you suggested and honestly, I've never felt better about my hair, and in turn, myself. I even got compliments during my work meetings today! Your explanations and tips are always so effortless and helpful! Thank you for reigniting a spark I had lost. You're truly the greatest treasure!
It's such a coincidence cause I was thinking to buy a hair mask.
Love the minimalistic yet the fully informative approach of this video. 💗
I love the money masque from colorwow. I have bleached hair and it's made a huge difference. I also use my regular conditioner after I've rinsed my masque out. Thanks lovely lady for the application tips and I'm definitely going to give a gloss a try xxx
I have long, thick blonde hair. I love Tresemme mask, Redken anti snap, Phillip Kingsley elasticizer and Olaplex 3 (now I know the difference, thank you!) all amazing and I like to rotate them all to mix it up a bit! I love the advice of not buying expensive items and then being too afraid to use them. 🙏
my favourite mask is just an argon oil mask, i first got it for £1 but the price ranges to £3 and it’s SO thick and does wonders for my hair. it’s a brown tub and green lid, i highly recommend for anyone with long frizzy/ wavy hair!!
GIRLLL I HAVE BEEN THINKING OF YOU & YOUR VIDEOS LATELY & I DECIDED TO BINGE A COUPLE OF YOUR OLD VIDEOS ONLY TO FIND THAT YOU JUST UPLOADED A NEW VIDEO AAAAAAA
You are my role model. Seriously my heart rejoices everytime you upload a video
Our actual queen. The quality of your content is unmatched.
You're uploading videos on a regular basis. This already made me happy. And its not even Christmas yet.
I love your videos! Thank you so much for all the info and answering all the questions we have about this 😊
I have curly hair and I switch masks depending on if my hair needs moisture or protein. There are moisturizing masks and protein masks and you need to be able to tell which you need to help keep your hair balanced and healthy. Olaplex is for repairing the damaged bonds if you’ve over processed your hair and damaged it. Just an fyi. ❤
Im so happy to see you more often!!! But still, you could make me wait 3 years and i would never leave you💕
Lol sameee
I've never done anything with my hair but shampoo and conditioner but you make me want to experiment with different things. Thank you 🙏
I've never heard of glosses. I'd love to try one out!
Love this video !!! K18 is my go to for hair repair, since 2020! It's a miracle!!! For hydration its Olaplex #8 deep conditioning treatment and for a gloss, its been "wow dream coat" !! 🙏💚 Blessings and love from Panama 🇵🇦!!
i love that your post more instead once a month love your videos :)
Thank you for explaining so well ❤
i always learn something new in your videos! ❤
I've never heard of hair gloss before but now i want to try it , my hair is wayvy so it can be dull and become very frizzy. this might be exactly what it needs 😀
You are honestly the only youtuber on which I press like before I have even watched the first 5 seconds, because I know it's going to be an amazing and helpful video, like every video you do 🤗thank you♥️
Thank you! I am really into my hair care so I watch a ton of videos and, girl, this one is different from the rest🥰
On an unrelated note, I LOVE your nails in this. That color is stunning!
Hair below the waist club! Masks are essential for me with 2B hair and my boo with 3C hair. We’ve been happily using Lush for almost 10 years but we are open to trying any cruelty free recommendations! ❤💈
A whole Revelation!! Thank you! I don’t understand hair types , but I think mine is fine
My hair is 3A/3B curly, super thick and high density, low porosity with dryer ends, no heat or chemical damage and I'm about 20% gray. I've been following a capillary schedule for about a year now. My favorite hair masks right now are high quality argan oil as an oil treatment (nutrition), Garnier's whole blends honey treasures mask (Hydration) and 7 day fermented rice water followed by the Ellizaveca cer-100 collagen coating hair treatment (protein/ repair). I also love adding extra ingredients to my masks (I use one every wash day followed by conditioner) depending on the purpose so for hydration I can add glycerin, honey, hyloronic acid etc
I love your pink cup!
Thanks, I'll be doing some of this rather than my rough routine. I'm sure my long hair will appreciate it.
I love that you’ve started posting so much 🤍 CZcams needed you!
😲 I can’t wait to try a gloss.
My favorite hair masks are the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! and Nexxus Intensely Hydrating Masque.
I have recently started my healthy hair journey after years of crusty, dry hair, and a hair mask is something I never really considered as essential in the past. But a few days ago I bought the Nivea intense repair mask, I’m just waiting for it to be couriered to me, and I am so excited to use it! I am hoping that it will transform my hair for the better!
I never knew there were different types! I always learn something new with your videos! Been using the Pantene Miracle Mask since forever and is my absolute holy grail especially when I transitioned out of my very damaging, hair rebonding phase years ago!
thank you for sharing! 😍
Dark Oil Lightweight Mask by Sebastian is absolutely the best for my curly dry hair. Loooove you videos btw! Hugs from DR.
this video was clean ✨️
LOVE your videos, they’re always so organized, honest & helpful. I have thick 2c-3a curly hair & my all-time HG favorite deep condish is a fenugreek deep conditioner from Nature’s Ego on etsy. It’s all natural & actually works. Would recommend her whole line, but the fenugreek condish is where it’s at! Tysm for your vids, sending you much thanks & love & peace during the holidays ❤
I have wavy/frizzy/straight hair and my go-to hair mask is the Ganier Fructis Smoothing Treat 3-in-1 mask! It is amazingggg, you can get it at Walmart!
Can you do a video on how to grow your hair?
You are beautiful✨love all your vids
Yay! A new video from you ❤
I LOVE your videos soooo much , keep posting 💓
Loving all these vids ❤❤
I have 2b and 3c it’s like wavy and curly when it’s freshly washed and then over time it gets straight when I brush it or not style it. I use the miss Jessie’s hair growth pink hair mask. It’s made my hair SHINE and it made it so healthy. I also love using hair oils. My favorite oils to use are olive, coconut, jojoba, almond and rosemary oil. I don’t use them all at once but whenever I have the time and whatever is within reach I use it on my hair for an hour or overnight. I love your videos and happy new year!
Super excited for this video 🎉
Never heard of gloss! I definitely need to try it 💕
Camille Rose algae renew is divine 😻
I love hair masks. I use the PK Elasticizer along with Olaplex number 8. My hair loves both masks.
You never miss, love every single video 😍
I use a comb to spread the mask everywhere. Thank you for the information 😊
I like Christophe Robin's masks, they smell amazing and are really good🤗
I’ve got kinky curly hair (3c/4a if you subscribe to the curl type chart thingy) and my favorite hair mask is the Amika hair food one. My hairdresser introduced it to me and it works wonders on my naturally dry curls.
Thank you for mentioning hair gloss / wonder water! didn't know that was even a thing 😆 gonna give the wonder water a try!
Yay!💗 please ensure you do only leave it on for the 8 seconds (or follow that particular products directions) it’s powerful gloss!😍🙊
I mix argan oil, coconut oil, castor oil, avocado oil and olive oil with a some heavy cream mask usually shea or something from Sallys. I apply it to dry hair in sections and leave on for an hour while doing chores. Then wash as usual. I apply an inexpensive gloss clear shine from Sallys, same brand as my hair dye a few days later.
please make hairstyle video, your videos are amazing and easy to understand
So happy to see you back😍🤎
That blue container hair mask I’m the beginning is the Color Wow Money Mask and it’s AMAZING!!!!!!! It’s kinda pricey but you get a big tub of it. Highly recommend
I also use once a week a scalp treatment, reset by amika , love the cool sensation. Thanks for ur videos💗🖖
I have wavy hair (2c/3a). I try to use a mask once a week. I usually use Shea moistures protein power about once a month(or whenever I think my hair needs some protein), and deva curl melt into moisture the other times. I was able to get it on sale for half off when they were switching out the packaging sometime last year. That being said, once I run out, I'll probably try something new :)
I also always use a clarifying shampoo before hand, and using a shampoo brush or scalp brush was game changing for my dry scalp problem
Late to the party, but here are two things I (personally) find that gets the most out of a hair mask:
🌸 Once applied, comb through your hair. It makes sure the mask goes everywhere and spreads excess to the parts you missed/have less.
🌸 Once applied, use a shower cap. I use those disposable ones like you find at hotels. Someone once told me heat helps a mask function better, and I've been doing the shower cap thing ever since. ( More than 20 years now.)
Could you please do a tutorial for hairstyle shown in the end of the video? 😍
Because my hair type is looking like yours but i have no idea how you receive such a good looking hairstyle out of curly hair
I absolutely love the hair mask and especially the hair serum from function of beauty. But right now I'm using Kérastase.
i love a good sheamoisture mask it truly is like giving my hair a meal
I love ur videos and still waiting for ur “skin care 101 video “, I have curly hair
It's Garnier hair conditioners because my wavy, dry, and frizzy hair surprisingly loves them.😁
My hair's oily, but sometimes it starts to look a little dry, and that's when I use a mask, either Rene Furterer or RoseBaie. My hair looks soft and silky afterwards.
I don't have a favorite mask, I love going through TJMaxx and picking out the prettiest I can find^^
Omg my favorite mask is Bondy boost 💝💝💝💝💝💝💝🤗🤗🤗love ur vids girl
I LOVE the Eva-NYC Mane Magic Hair mask. It makes my hair so Soft and shiny. (I have straight, thick hair)
Just inspired me to start looking into the 3 types of masks!! Omg I can't wait to start my hair journey now 😭 I've had a pixie and grew it out to chest length two times already but now I'm so stubborn and just want it waist length- hopefully this will help💕💕 the gloss is my favorite I really didn't know it existed and God is the results drop dead gorgeous!!
I’m so happy for you☺️😍 happy hair masking!
i use a wide toothed comb to distribute my mask more effectively through my hair :)
Loving the content you’re pushing out 🤎
Very informative!
I love the Briogio Don’t Despair Repair in apple honey. And it comes in the cutest little bottle! I love lamellar waters and rinses as well. That Colorwow money mask looks pretty, I’m not sure if it’s worth the price though
I love the regular don’t despair deep conditioner. How does it compare to the Apple honey?
@@Yeahokaiight it makes my hair softer and i have type 4 hair so I like that it has more slip! :)
Thanks for the hair masks tips, they work really good but any tips to make hair thick??
My favorite mask/protein combo is Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Yogurt Protein Power Treatment
My favorite shampoo and hair mask that’s saved my bleached blonde hair is Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura oil Intensive Hydration shampoo and their mask. I use the mask instead of conditioner.
girl you are the best ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My favorite hair mask is Melanin plumping deep conditioner silkening+strengthening. Large tub, delicious scent. Try it!
I have long I would say medium to thick hair density and texture wise, I haven't bought a hair mask in a long time I've done the coconut oil method most recently, but I also wash my hair only every 3 or 4 days and I don't use a lot of hot tools on it so it remains manageable and healthy feeling..
Two or three times a month though the day of washing my hair I will apply extra leave-in conditioner on damp hair with a teeny bit of coconut oil, or other natural oils I might have on hand, put it in a bun for braid let it sit for a couple hours before washing my hair.
I’ll try one ❤
The best hair mask for me is L’Oréal Professionnel "Pro Longer", a pink package. Lengths renewing for long hair with amino acids and something called Filler-A100
Bond repairs don't have to go before shampoo. In fact, a lot of bond repairs are advised to be used after shampoo. This is because they're absorbed better by clean hair. One can use a hair mask or conditioner before shampoo and then go in with a bond repair like Olaplex or K18.
Shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil is my fave😍
I have curly fine hair and I use the gold repair from L'Oréal professional as well as the Garnier hair food banana.
Thankyou so much for this information! I am going to get Olexpex and a gloss. I do mask.
Greaaaaat longer and more videos is needed
luv uuu doll
my favorite hair mask is the eva nyc one
4C hair here! 🤸🏾🤸🏾
I love the Hair Mayonnaise by Africas Best. My mama used to use it on my hair all the time in the 90s. I decided to try it as an adult and boom. 🥰
I actually don’t mind pantee or that’s 3 minutes moist one from that Aussie brand, I haven’t had bad experiences with drugstore ones. I did really like a 20$ one I got from Function of Beauty but I only bought it once because it was expensive.
I didn’t even know what a hair gloss was 😂 this is such an informative video.
The thumbnail 💖💖
aw thank you
I haven 2C/ 3A curly hair, medium density and fine strands, and I find my hair loves the Noughty to the rescue intense moisture treatment ! It also loves the Garnier papaya or aloe vera mask.. my hair doesn’t seem to agree with shea moisture masks or olaplex, neither work well for my hair
