  • Are you cared to google bushcraft skills and scared to CZcams bushcraft skills? Scared of what people say? DON’T BE!
Skills were painted on cave walls, illustrations of the plants and animals available in the area so that others got an insight of what resources were available in the area.
Skills were passed down from father to son, learned from literature, taught by community’s and even initiation from adolescence to manhood were often part of learning the skills one would need to survive. We live in a modern society with the technology available were we can google the information or watch a CZcams video on the subject we are researching. To google a subject you interested in learning is the same as reading a book. People often find it easier to watch a video than to read a book and for some it is far easier to grasp the skill one is researching when you watch a video.
Being active on FaceBook I often see people looked down on when they admit they googled the information. I wonder why as there is so much material online that has been written or videoed by good bushcrafters and survival skill experts. One might even say that the internet as made it easier for crafters and skilled people to share these skills easier, may it be on google, blogs or CZcams.
Don’t worry what people think or say as long as you research them skill that you interested in and it helps you gain experience to better understand that skill than google as much as you want.

I used the internet extensively to research a recent atlatl video and then listed the main links in the video notes to return the favour.

So many social media channels where you can learn about bushcraft but the best place to start a fire has to be Twitter 😅

Yes I clearly remember it and it really fired some interest in me to do it and I will get round to do it. We got a big event coming up and I’m collaborating with someone that shares my interest in friction fire. Never know we might get time to do it then 😁

You mean to tell me you weren't born with the muscle memory passed down from your ancestors and you need to learn things for yourself?!?!
    Oh the horror!
I'll continue with books, Google and CZcams, I can pick my interactions that way 😉
