i like to think while playing darktide that because there's a lot of rejects being deployed, failing a mission is just a common occurence, so they just keep deploying us to different places in tertium
That’s literally the point of the Rejects,to be expendable to the Inquisition so that non ex-convict operatives and soldiers can clean up afterwards and look like the heroes. Another idea to remember is that while being cannonfodder,no matter how many privileges you earn or how good a reputation you build,you’ll still be a statistic once you die
Well, most of our missions literally push deep into enemy territory while Guardsmen holding the line behind us. We are even more disposable than the Guardsmen.
@@usernamealreadytaken9330were basically pennial legion, but under the command of the inquisition directly instead of some guard generals. But hey, are chances of earning a position above total disposable forces, to acutely valuable , but still disposable ( but less so then before) assets.

The zealot crusher went from being a dumpster fire to quickly making its way to my favorite. Not the best but its just so FUN

I still remember how when I asked on the forums for the revolver to be buffed to the level of the bolter, to make it viable, everyone was citing lore to me, but never had an answer as to how even going close to a plague ogryn didn't instantly kill you with disease
the skill tree update saved this game IMO. So many ways to play now, everything i have tried is at least good enough. I have been using a laspistol unironically on my support/grenade veteran for a while now, and its maybe my favorite setup currently. definitely helped by an essentially infinite supply of krak grenades though.

It saved the game, what also helped is that. Many other games are absolute dogshit so this update hut at that perfect window, to pull everyone back in.

I pretty much went from thinking that Darktide is absolutely trash game to giving chances that it can make Cyberpunk type comeback,maybe not so big,but still. The fact that Darktide dropped 2 HUGE updates back to back and players count are increasing day by day is insane.
Honestly not that big of a surprise, anyone who lived through the disastrous launch of Vermintide 1 and 2 have long ago seen the pattern in their development. That is to say they release a flawed but fun game, fix it, then break it again, ad nauseum.
Didn’t think I would love it but My channel is all about making myself suffer playing a game. Yet this game is fun af especially when new levels activate Daemon!

we just need a few more weapons which I'm sure will come in the next few updates. give me a longlas, a melta, maybe a heavy bolter, heavy flamer, and multimelta for the ogryn. Just need a few more of the iconic imperium weapons.
this game would need at least 2 or 3 dlcs before it can even be compared to cyberpunk
Another example of a game where this is proved: Deep Rock Galactic. Every single class is important for most missions being really successful, especially on hazard 4 and above, and every single weapon in the game is viable, even if there are some far better than others.
People will come back for more, even if it's more of the same, if their favorite playstyle/class can be played effectively without issues, as it turns out that the game is actually FUN when you aren't suffering due to poorly design abilities or stats.

yep, thats a true veteran lads.
now that smite's been nerfed here's another fun use of it people might not know. It has directional knockback, and the direction the knockback is allied is based off of the direction you are looking when the ability ends.
Want to pull a fleeing trapper back to you? Shock them then turn around. End the shock and they're pulled towards you.
Want to push enemies off ledges? Look to your right or left after starting your smite then end it flinging any unfortunate souls off the cliff.

i wouldn't say nerfed so much as had an unintentional exploit fixed for game balance. Smite is still amazing if you got a good team cause holding an entire horde still is incredible

How is heresy exhausting?? Theres simply not enough elites or specialists to kill on that difficulty
Heresy difficulty is that weird limbo difficulty where newbies dip their toes after they finally feel brave enough to escape Malice casual limbo.
So more often then in Damnation, you see truly cursed and bad gameplay and poor decisions by players. I’ve noticed damnation is actually alot less stressful as people generally know what they are doing.
@sirpieman300 The journey to become one of those man made machines is a long and arduous one. I lost my first clutch Damnation Maelstrom yesterday. Last Psyker against the all Scab melee map and I went down right at the end because i rushed to pick em up instead of killing the enemies protecting them. The bot got them but they then died after having no dps to kill the crushers. I crieded
@@convergence1point While it is, i also just dont like how a single poxwalker takes away half your health in that gamemode. Its perfect for people who want the difficulty, but it kinda makes your character feel weak at times.

Only reason weapon customization isn't on nexus is that it's still essentially in bata, once grasmann finishes up tweaking all the weapons & bugfixing he said he'll release it on nexus.

Hot takes: Smite without bug more engage than Assail.
Hear me out Smite is the cc tool for created space while the bug make it brain damage the smite combo with Venting Shriek is kinda slap. You just need to build around cc and clear Groaners and Poxwalkers by using Smite and Soul blaze enemy with Venting Shriek, and to do that you need Warp Siphon to reduce cd of Venting Shriek. use it to quells perils that generated from Smite and apply Soul blaze to enemies. So you can clear the mob by yourself with Smite > quells perils and apply Soul blaze with Venting Shriek > pull out a gun,staff to kill specialist/continue smite/reposition vs Assail press left click.

I’d love for there to be further archetypes to spec into our characters. Even further than we’ve got. Like a female Zealot becoming a Sister of Battle and male veteran can become a Krieg death corps member with extra damage to shovel.
There will never be a “sister of battle” in Darktide… it’s just how games workshop is with their IP.
A female zealot sure, but never that.
I find the psyker to be the most fun class to play as. Love the lightning staff paired with the force sword (same deflector idea that you showed off actually). It fills me with joy to just walk up menacingly to a gunner and blocking all of their bullets.
psyker was meh. after the update? might be my favorite now.
The Revolver is the GOAT on veteren. The amount of times I've saved other reject by 2 tapping a crusher in the head is unreal. Plus the penetration aspect makes it perfect for hitting elites and specialists through hordes while saving grenades

Some meta nerds were so pressed that I was running martyr on a damnation maelstrom mission, saying it was the worst spec. We still beat that mission, so I have no idea what they were worried about.

watching that update hit and getting to switch from sharpshooter plasma gun (meta) to stealth shotgun (actually fun and engaging) changed the entire game for me

I bought a razer tartarus gamepad specifically to prevent my already WASD crippled left claw from further worsening and I credit it with keeping my hands usable despite my 600hrs into darktide.

I finally got to play the game back when it released on Xbox earlier this month and hadn’t been following the game for a while. Seeing how positive everyone has been since the upgrade tree got fixed is great. When I saw the old tree I thought, “ugh, it’s just the same as Vermintide 2.” The new one helps differentiate Darktide and makes it feel unique from its fantasy counterpart.

As a Psyker Smite runner, I love it so much, it never gets old to me, feel mad powerful all game. Plus it also helps that its like the best support power ever.
I used to play Shinobi back when I played For Honor. I play smite psyker is darktide. I admit it was a bit boring when it was bugged after a few games but the adjustment was now that it can't be done infinitely, it can actually kill an entire wave if you decide to use a charge of advanced psyonics. Before this major update to the skill tree, I had little reason to play. Now I play pretty often and have a blast the whole time!

Stubber has been buffed to point of one look delete button in patch 14. On a Veteran a Stubber with Handcanon IV and Surgical just one shots EVERY specialists elites and ogryn type enemies on Damnation+.
Autogun stubber, i am assuming. When you say it like that its almost as if youre implying were talking about the heavy stubber (as much as id like to use one as the vet lel)
Jokes aside, you should do something about your hands hurting from playing Darktide. It’s very likely you’re positioning on the desk is off, you’re gripping the mouse the wrong way, and/or you’re gripping the mouse too hard. I’ve felt uncomfortable before, and it’s always either my positioning or gripping the mouse too hard. Also get up and move a little, take a walk, and/or stretch your hands/body. These games that require a lot of constant clicking and movement are very stressful for your hands/body if you are not positioned properly/putting too much pressure on your body. Also try to distribute weight and pressure, as that will help with alleviating stress on your body when sitting/playing games. Proper desk, mouse pad, chair, and even wrist rests are very important. It’s expensive, but necessary for your body’s health if you’re not gaming from a sofa.

the game does have a problem of feeling too easy currently for me, with the reduction to hordes and powercreep from patch 13 dammation has a winrate of 99% and auric maelstrom around 75%. If this keep and they dont do balance updates to make the game harder, a new difficulty might need to be a thing but thats gonna take 2 years for fatshark to make

Former Psyker main here, and i gotta say, while i'm happy Psyker is finally viable, FS might have overshot it a bit since Psyker is now easilly the most powerful class in the game. AoE Shield is just nuts, homing bees deleting hordes is just nuts, Brain Burst suddenly sucks more ass than it did and Smite literally making any elite encounter obsolete. This gives us a massive influx of new Psykers thinking bees will caryy them and yes, while true, i cannot begin to count how many of those bee throwers have woken the Daemonhost in a middle of some ongoing fuckery because they simply don't know what their class really does. This gets driven home even more with console players.

I always tell people the trick to darktide is the exactly the same as vermintide dance and twirl like a harlequin in combat it works freakishly well

I have a question that may seem dumb, but how are you and your comrades lvl 50+ ? I'm blocked at lvl 30! And how did you manage to get the dmg and health bars on the HUD?

how do you see level 120 on one of your characters mine maxes at 30, also how do you see your enemy's health goes down when you attack them, as to my knowledge its only in the testing section of the game.
The crafting system as it is now does the game a huge disservice.
You need to get a good roll on a weapon, then get 2 of the 4 perks / stats you want on it, as you can only re-roll max 2.
They have a talent tree that gives you at least 3 different builds per character. 3 x 4 = 12
But even taking the same build and using a different weapon can completely alter the feel of the build.
So it's more like 30+ build configurations.
I would need to quit my job to get those with the shitty rng. Gambling has taken over a lot of gaming and it's not a positive. Give me one ressource and let me chose what blessings i want without first having to grind for those as well and just make the values rng.
The primary fun is trying builds and playing the game with people, it's the differences of each run that make it fun. Giving me the potential for fun and then telling me to f*** off when i try to use that potential is just asinine and terrible design.

I've played this game since the beginning. It's definetly in the top 5 for me and ALMOST great, but there are still kinks to work out. Mainly the cosmetic shop and its prices. Gameplay wise, though? Top. tier.

The fact there still hasnt been some AoS x For Honor crossover is WILD to me with how much pimping out GW does with its games IP. I mean I'd kill for a Chaos Warrior Lawbringer, SCE Warden, Ork Raider etc. Fuck I'd spend an absurd amount of money on good Warham skins.

You should give Vermintide 2 a try, Sol. Had a recent update so it might actually get some CZcams traction, seems like there's a bit of a content gap there.
Why would I dodge when I can block?
I feel like everyone acts like they're playing a souls game and wastes so much time dodging, the block and the shove get way overlooked.
Because dodging is free and gives you I-frames

Fatshark has always been bad at balancing their games. Not sure why they struggle with it so much. So it was no surprise to me it took this long to make the weps viable. The difference is huge. I'm messing with autoguns for the 1st time and absolutely loving them. Braced autoguns are so fun, shredding elites and hordes like a medium range chainsaw.
I wish there was more to the story
when you don't fire all the rounds in the revolver, your character covers the unused ones with their thumb so only the spent ones fall out and then reloads the remaining.

I wish they will add the Vermintide 2 loot system, because right now there is absolute 0 reason to pick Grimoare and Scripts.
I don't need more ordo. Most of the ordo i gamba at the vendor buying weapons (99.9% it's a grey one, but i can hope right ?).
If they will add the loot system or something similar the game will be even more fun. Right now i play on Damnation it's hell of fun but when i reach the end and i see a purple random weapon i'm like bleah more ordo or if i am lucky maybe i get a blessing.
So come on Fat Shark give us a similiar Vermintide 2 loot system.

After the class overhaul I think the developers are gonna focus on bringing more story content out.
People start noticing about in game voice line. Xenos sighting in the depth of the hive, Psyker talking about sister hive presence fell silence, dream about 2 Zola and new vox on youtube that spy was stalking by something lurking in the shadow. Sounds like we gonna get Tyranids next. Or at least Genestealer cult.

As stupid as it is Darktide gives me the Left 4 Dead experience I was hoping for out of Back 4 Blood, something just fun to hop in every so often.
To be honest I quit this game after the class rework failed to make psyker worth it. going full in for a build only for a vet to do it better with a single talent doesn't feel good.
The only good thing in this entire update was the map.
Psyker got full send ignored.
Wanted a new staff and a force greatsword, got a flashlight and a toothpick instead.
Stimms are garbage, peril reduction should be 100%.
Fartshart missed the mark by miles on this one.
Y thing i still dont like is the Locking system by weapons blessings and Perks.
Also is the veteran compared to the other classes pretty weak with the newest iteration.... But else, yes, its waaaay better than before. Now we just need more missions and some new weapons. 40k haves so god dang many different weapons they still have tons to include. For example am i missing a melta. There are still options for example power axes, halberds, pikes, gravguns, more lasgun/autoguns. Some handhold LMG variants. Ect ect ect... But else, its good enough to put another 100 hrs in it.
I think veteran feels weak because it doesn't have a capstone the same way the others do

love WH40k lore but not checked this out, if you're that into it, i may just have to give it a crack.
Darktide is pretty light on lore. Occasional banter but no real story. Great combat though.
