This is only possible with cubs, through a process called imprinting.
Where you care for the cubs and they sort of see you as mum. They know you are different and look different, just that psychologically, you register as mum/care giver.

They became extinct in the wild but were shipped around the world in the early days and in some Arabic countries zoo's or private collections they managed to hang on they are bigger with a main that goes under their belly and on there knees on legs great looking lions

have a ram on my property, normally he is real friendly, comes running up to me for a cuddle and so on. However every now and then for no apparent reason he gets stroppy and decides to ram me in a way that is not just playing and is aggressive. When he get's like this he is a real handful. Let me be clear, I am talking about a hand reared sheep. Now lets say that even one time, one of those lions for the same apparent non sensical reason decides to get aggressive please tell me what Mr I like to cuddle pussy cats is gonna do about it
