Trash to Track. Episode 74. Hornby ‘Henry’ loco.

  • Hello and Welcome to epsiode 74 of Trash to Track.
    In this episode we take a look at a Hornby Henry Loco that looks like he’s been in an accident, and his motor doesn’t seem to want to work either. So lets have a look and see if we can reactivate Henry to the rails once more.

    The later ringfields were more free as the gears sat on smaller spindles and there was less friction, there is a notable improvement in how free they are. I have some older 70's ones that spin for a good quarter of a second with their own inertia but the later version is far better. The chassis block from the 70's does last well as there's no motor to force the axles loose in the bearings. A lovely runner after the de-hairing

    I was in search of a Hornby Henry for a long time, ended up settling for a Railroad black 5 that I still need to find a face for but hopefully I'll get on with him soon
