@@ArianChristopher he obviously is. Stars don't have to be scorers. He has led multiple Eastern conference finals teams, and plays some of the best defense in the league. He is a top 3 post passer, top 5-7 post scorer and an elite screen setter. He is also possibly the best shooting true center in the league. Clear star material.
The Celtics have a log jam at SF with 2 players that need to develop and a guy who’s not 100%. Add that to a PG who struggles to lead and a back up PG who thinks he’s a starter and that’s how you end up with a mess
Rozier is a starter quality pg. He handles the ball well, hardly ever turns it over, shoots well from all 3 depths, drives well, but can use improvement in passing out of the pick n roll/pop, tossing lobs (he's gotta be the worst lobber in nba history), and continue to work on his strength. He also plays hella defense and that's always a plus. He's more of a leader than many people realize, he's so carefree that it's more of an "I'm just playing ball with my teammates" leadership than a "follow me" type leadership. I hope he stays a celtic and kyrie leaves so we can get the team from last year back, they were fun to watch.
It took Paul George 2 years, his own words, to recover 100% from his injury. So Hayward, essentially, has another year left to be over his injury. I agree where Hayward is at is more mental than physical at this point. He’s gets the start because he makes 30mil a year. Time will tell if he can get back. I believe he can.
kyrie has yet to stay healthy let alone beat a healthy playoff team as a leader in his now 5 full year career in which he missed 3 playoffs in Cleveland before hitching his wagon on a good boston team curry struggled due to injuries and roster but he has led his team..kyries never led..it was never kyrie vs steph pre kd it was bron vs steph...steph vs kyrie became a thing cause of kd in terms of 2nd option not an actual matchup..curry has proven time and time again he is better since before kd or even kerr….he won a playoff series as a true underdog..tell me when kyrie does that ever...ill wait ..dont give me the finals
@@razkable Kyrie record without Lebron James: 204-224 Kyrie furthest playoff series without Lebron: 2nd round (Carried by Durant, Harden, 0 playoff games before LBJ came back to Cavs) Kyrie playoff series without Lebron: 33% FG 19% 3PT vs Bucks, NBA record for games under 40% FG in a row on 18+ shot attempts. 15.3 PPG on 37% FG in last 3/4 games of a sweep vs former team Celtics with KD by his side. Most overrated player of all time.
@@TennisGM I'm a Celtics fan too, the bit about us struggling with Indiana even though we swept them was kinda off. Also how our Eastern Conference Finals Run was "greatly exaggerated" or whatever despite him citing that we were doing this without two all stars and a young core. Other than that I have no complaints.
"Robin" made the playoffs. "Robin" hit the game winners that LeBroom doesn't have the killer mentality to take. "Robin" has skills beyond barreling to the goal and crying for fouls.
Robin was a Cavalier because “Lebroom” realized something Kyrie didn’t, they weren’t gonna give him any supporting pieces so Lebroom left and they tanked so hard they got Robin and Robin never made it anywhere until Lebroom came back. Oh and Lebroom made the block that was possible for Robin to hit the shot and Lebroom took the soon to be 73-9 warriors to 6 by himself.
@@MegaAkamara People who dick ride LeBron for that block are stupid. My nigga kyrie is CLUTCH, even without that block he still would've made that shot. Good defense by LeBron I guess, but he didn't put 3 points on the scoreboard, kyrie did.
@@dame3323 That doesn't change what I said bitch. And what has LeBron done without a second superstar? Hmmm I can't think of anything either, looks like we're both stumped.
People forget the East got much better. Bucks got a new coach and they improved from last year playoff. Toronto got rid of choke artist Demar for a way better player. Philly got Butler and Tobias. These analysts underestimated the East this year
Charles Cooks but still all the analyst were acting like Houston, okc, La would roll through any team in the east which is just not true. Toronto and Milwaukee are better than any west team other than gsw
@1:58 For all non die heart and die heart basketball fans dont ever listen to Ryan Hollins cuhz he doesn't know anything about basketball even though he played for the Blazers. He said Giannis isn't a MVP caliber player when this dude never even had a starting position so how are you gonna tell another player he isn't a MVP caliber player. Has the nerve to talk down on Kyle Lowry but Kyle Lowry has accomplished more than him and has been in the league since 06 while he came in like 09 or 11. Then say the bucks aren't gonna make it out the semi how would you know what it's like going up against a top team when u never played a single playoff game in yo life😂😂💀☠. Ryan is the FlightReacts of First take
I understand that he's said a lot of weird bs - but if we are going to base our right to give opinions on level of success - technically everyone in this comment section including you and I have no right to say anything - we have accomplished less basketball wise - than him. But yes he says dumb shit.
stop blaming Gordon Hayward kyire completely disappear in 4 straight games the leader and superstar completely fails and we blame Hayward who coming back from breaking his leg, it's not his fault that the coaching staff started him
I think it was a "perfect storm" of bad luck and decisions. I think they started playing Hayward too soon to justify his contract, which then upset everyone else getting reduced minutes. That jealousy and animosity towards Hayward plus Kyrie playing like shit and choking hard really affected this team. They need to make some trades fast, Tatum and Brown are overrated due to that one ECF run and nobody is picking up Hayward's contract so as a Boston fan I just pray he gets back to 100%. One more note is Hayward needs the ball in his hands to facilitate but the problem is so does Kyrie, Tatum, Brown, and Rozier. The roster just doesn't work as currently constructed.
If that but this. Reality is Celtics beat pacers 4-0. You sound exactly like people were when warriors lost to cavs was because green got suspended or Chris Paul was injured and so rockets lost to golden state, “they would have won if they were playing” is a biased opinion. Blaming Kyrie for Celtics losing to bucks is a biased opinion.
AllDayWillis the raptors beat the warriors too though. Granted the warriors were down 2 all stars but iguodala, curry, draymond, cousins, and whoever else still isn’t a bad team. The raptors are really good now. The bucks just got bested. The east is getting good
@@TransparentEclipse dafuq you talkin about? Gsw's bench was shit iguolada is old and cousins isnt what he used to be. Celtics was shit this season no excuses, you guys really thought they were the spurs of the east.
I don't believe that it should really be disappointing that the Boston Celtics didn't win the series against the Bucks. They had played poorly the entire season. Everyone was so blinded by what the Celtics could have been that they didn't see what they were... a fairly mediocre team who didn't have a hope of getting to the finals. It doesn't matter how many pieces you have if they don't work together.
The Celtics should get rid of Kyrie and try and get Jrue Holiday! Jrue is a better passer, a far better defender, and also a 21 ppg scorer! He seems he would be a much better fit than Kyrie and with less of an ego problem!
Not gonna lie, I was about to comment on how stupid this sounded but, the more I think about it the more it makes sense. It would be much better for Jaylen and Tatums development to not have high usage PG and it would solidify a solid defensive backcourt with him and Marcus smart. Hell, I think it would help Hayward tremendously as well with an increased role
biraj chetry the thing is Giannis wasn't even that good the celts just played terrible defense and couldn't figure out how to score since our leader was playing like he snapped both his arms in half
its crazy how bad the bucks played in game 5 and how they managed to win by 25 lol...and score 116 without anyone but gianiss getting 20 and he had a subpar game too...they played like shit and can do that to a team?..im shocked...its one thing to win but its another to blow them out when your have a D+ team game...they played awful...let me rephrase that they didnt play as well as usual and they missed shots and took some heat check type ones at times as if they knew it was over cause they read the Celtics body language...they didnt play smart..
@@ElCap1van Pacers are 1 maybe 2 good pieces away from being in the top 4 but Washington wasn't even on my radar plus Howard's not important since he left Houston imo but those ☝️ were my picks at the start and the end
As disappointing as the Celtics were the Bucks arent getting enough credit. This is the beginning of the Giannis era and i dont think even Golden State can stop him

Great video Legend. Yours are the smartest and most entertaining knowledge and stories about basketball and am always happy when you upload another video
So I'm a lifelong Celtics fan. I live in New England so I watched almost all of their games this year, listened to the press conferences, etc. This team just did not gel. It was obvious by about January that this team was didn't get along, didn't play for one another, and as much as I like Stevens as a coach, he seemed ill prepared to deal with Kyrie and the baggage that comes with dealing with egos, from Kyrie and the young guys. The young guys, especially Rozier and Smart, won in the playoffs last year without Kyrie. This year they had to take a backseat to him. They didn't like that. I knew we weren't going far when Kyrie started saying, "seeding doesn't matter" while also acting like he's a leader, when he isn't. None of the young guys on this team respect Kyrie. It showed in the Bucks series. Add in the fact that Stevens apparently couldn't figure out any adjustments whatsoever after game one and you get a disappointing end to the season. I dole out blame to everyone. From Kyrie, to Coach Stevens, to Hayward, etc. Finally, we couldn't trade Hayward. He might have the worst contract in the NBA right now. Nobody is taking that contract on. And that sucks, being a Celtics fan. But facts are facts. That contract is the worst, or near the worst, in the league.
Expectations were to high. No one knew what they'd get out of Gordon Hayward coming off that injury. The top teams in the East got better. They need Hayward to get healthy(mentally and physically). They need less individual players. You can't have good chemistry with Kyrie, Morris, Tatum, Brown, and Rozier. That's too many ball stoppers.
@Legend Of Winning huge fan of the channel bro but I just have a question for you & that is now that the Houston rockets got eliminated by the warriors again do you plan on making a video about it?
I swear it feels like Kyrie has been with the Celtics for like 5 years and it only were 2. Not many guys will want to play with him after those statements and performances
Look I understand kyrie didn’t play well this playoffs. He had maybe 2 good games and that was it but that’s already enough for you to change your whole perception of someone? People live off of the present way too much and don’t look into the future or the past... Lebron struggled to lead at first and played poorly in the playoffs and look how he turned out? Arguably the best ever (MJ is tho) just saying you can’t decide someone’s future and status off of one season.
Liam Milne lol what? LeBron was a DYNAMITE playoff performer from Day 1. He averaged 31-8-6 on 48% shooting at the young age of 21. He then followed that up with his first finals appearance at age 22. He just didn’t have enough adequate talent around him to win it all against teams like San Antonio and Boston. This was Kyries first playoff appearance as lead man and he played like shit. He shot Westbrook levels of bad without any of the assists or rebounds. He kept addressing the media like he was gonna dominate and make his mark on the series yet it never happened.
darkinferno1219 he averaged that against weaker teams though, when he got to the big stage he always underperformed. Even when he reached his prime in Miami he under performed. It was only by the 2nd championship in Miami at that point he started to really dominate all the time in there playoffs. I mean argue what you want but lebron with Dwayne Wade and Chris bosh lost to dirk nowitski... He clearly chocked.
They performed poorly though. They could barely score 100 points in some games. It’s not hard sweeping an Indiana team that has no offensive identity without Oladipo. That’s why the Celtics got destroyed against the Bucks.
I dont know if you actually watched the games but it was extremely close all the way until the last minutes of the 4th quarter for Game 2,3, and 4. They struggled a lot against the Pacers who was missing their star player.
@Legend Of Winning: Your video was on point!! Pretty much the exact same theory and explanation I had. I've been a die hard Celtic fan all my life...went to vast majority of home games in the Larry Legend era. Many non-fans or millennials have no idea what tragedies the Celtics have in the last several decades. With the death of Len Bias(who was destined to be as great as Michael Jordan), Reggie Lewis death, etc. Being a dynasty...and constantly rebuilding has always seemed synonymous. From Dee Brown....to Antoine Walker...to Paul Pierce and the Big3. It has always seemed since the end of the Bird era....constantly going forward...then 10 steps back. With that in mind...let's look at a few years ago. Isaiah Thomas had the heart of a lion...and produced amazing while with the Celtics. However, every fan knew there was NO WAY we were winning a championship because of his defensive deficiencies and small stature. Granted...Thomas gave amazing energy and vigor, but that ALONE will not win a championship. When he got injured(and I may sound callous) it was a perfect time to trade Thomas(plus, he did want a huge contract that I knew wouldn't be entertained by the Celtics) for Kyrie. The initial problem I had with Kyrie was his attitude...and how he was basically tight-lipped about his issues with Cleveland/Lebron. That was immature AF!!! I watched Kyrie with Cleveland pre-Lebron...pretty much at the bottom of the east. When Lebron returned to Cleveland...go figure...back to several more championships. I think Kyrie got more credit for being a "Big Shot Bob" more than anything. I thought Kyrie was a good player...but was never overly impressed. Nooowww, present day Celtics: Kyrie's attitude with wanting to stay...not to stay...his "who cares" comment rubbed me the wrong way. The way the Celtics gelled last year in the playoffs without Kyrie or Hayward was energetic AF!!!! Even fan was thinking "Once Kyrie and Hayward are back...it's game over!!!" I believe that's just logical reasoning. So anyone that had high expectations for the Celtics...certainly weren't wrong. It's baffling to say the least!!! Like you....here are the issues for this past season(plus a few theories which I could be wrong): 1)Brad Stevens- yeah...he looked like an amazing coach last year. Doing things without his 2 big stars. But like the saying goes "what have you done for me lately". I never truly saw him involved too much on the court this regular season. Somewhat like Phil Jackson in New York..stoic!!! I understand he had to make several adjustments because of his 2 stars returning...maybe he got overwhelmed...IDK. Whatever his issues were...they never got resolved...even during the playoffs. 2)Team Chemistry- evidently that was a huge issue this year...and every fan witnessed it. When a player has momentum...and then that momentum is snatched....it's hard to bounce back. Kyrie didn't assist in making the chemistry good. He's suppose to be the leader...or at least that's what the theory was. Tatum and Rozier regressed. 3)Kyrie Irving- bi polar attitude. Grandiose belief about himself that he's a superstar. Sorry, he's not. He benefited greatly by playing with Lebron. Any true basketball fan knows that. He has good ball handling skill, makes some clutch shots here and there....nothing that makes him a SUPERSTAR. His game against the Bucks was horrendous!!! Yes, the Bucks are a very good team. All credit goes to the Bucks!!! But seriously, if Kyrie was on point with his shots...on point with his assists...and played better defense, maybe it would have been a different outcome. However, it's still a TEAM....and he has to get the entire team involved!!!! Example: Larry Bird compelled team chemistry. He made Parish, Mchale, Ainge and Johnson look like superstars lol. That's team basketball!!! 4)Gordon Hayward- Good player...overpaid!!! He was highlighted in Utah like every other good player is highlighted when they're the primary ball handler. Simple science. It happens all the team...and GMs and fans still buy into that mess!!! Like I said...he's a good player...above average...nothing more. And you're right....Celtics should trade him for how much money they are losing. However, you saw the huge backlash for the Thomas trade....it's bad for business either which way you look at it!!! Hayward's role during the playoffs should have been minimal. His injury is still apparent. To sum this up being I go on and on and on: Kyrie will be leaving without question. That problem will be solved for the upcoming season. How the Celtics implement Hayward...or trade him...remains to be seen. I never value injury prone players no matter how good they are!!! I'm not interested in obtaining AD. The best abilities are: Availability and Reliability. I'm not a super basketball scholar...but I'm correct more than I'm wrong: D Rose, P Hardaway, Grant Hill, Tracy Mcgrady, Amar'e Stoudemire, etc. Those are top tier players....however...being injury prone damaged their success...as well as their team's success. I believe the Celtics definitely need to keep J Brown and M Smart...and Tatum for future promise. I want the Celtics to build correctly...regardless if it takes a few years. Everyone says "yeah...but you need a star/superstar! If Kyrie leaves...the Celtics will take years to rebuild." I counter that statement!!! You don't necessarily need the BEST PLAYERS...but the RIGHT PLAYERS!!! If having a superstar...or superstars on the same team guarantees a championship....then let me know how Westbrook/KD/Harden went. How bout Harden and Westbrook now!!! Where are they at??? At home, lol. How about Lebron with the Lakers??? Yeah...those guys are phenoms....but it takes CHEMISTRY to wins CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! Durant??? We all know that GOLDEN STATE actually can sustain without him. Do you know why??? Golden State has hella chemistry!!!! They'll shoot your lights out!!!! Bill B with the Patriots have taught us that having the right players...not the best players...works wonders!!!! As for the Celtics-------I suppose Celtic fans or critics expected them to progress throughout the playoffs like Lebron and the Cavs did last year. Remember??? Ohhh...Cavs are sucking!!! They will barely make the 4th seed. Lebron played Jedi mind tricks. He swept the Raptors....who was the #1 seed in the east!!! However....true fans never doubted Lebron...he's a freaking LEGEND!!!!! The Celtics didn't have a great regular season and it was apparent. It was just wishful thinking that possibly they were playing possum and things would go 180 in the playoffs!!! WE WERE WRONG!!!! Like Bill Parcels once said, "YOU ARE WHAT YOUR RECORD SAYS YOU ARE"!!!
give credits to the bucks. the post season is all about adjustments. after game 1 loss. you can notice giannis on game 2 not forcing going to the paint. the celtics was just noob to make an adjustment for the system of the bucks. thats all.
Bad matchup. Celtics rely on 1 man defending the rim and staying glued defending the 3pt shot, they kept teams shooting poorly all year and the last few years, tops in the league in 3pt defense the past few years. The bucks though have Giannis who makes it tough to stay glued to your man and opens up the shots for guys like Middleton and the others. Same thing last year against LeBron, he was able to drive and kick and in the drive he demands a second guy help and the shooters hit. They can beat pretty much any team unless they have a superior player who can demand a double team on a drive and pass to elite 3pt shooters. They've had trouble for years with teams built like that.
It's crazy last year I predicted that they would make it to the conference finals without Kyrie and this year I predicted a second-round exit at the beginning of this year. My exact quote at the time was "Hayward will be the wait till IT gets back of this NBA season". This team just had too many ego's for me to get behind them.
Nice analysis, particularly the focus on Kyrie - about trading Gordon Hayward however, even if Boston wanted to trade him, it was probably downright impossible. After the injury setback, his contract wasn't just negative value, it was top 5 worse in the NBA. So it was better to play him significant minutes rather than not - so his performance would improve, that way he performs more closely to the value of his contract - which makes him more tradable or a more positive contributor. And while Tatum impressed in year 1, I don't buy that playing Hayward suffocated his potential. In year 2, Tatum was inefficient on offense, on account of the amount of long 2s he'd take, and inconsistent on defense. They would've struggled even with more Tatum minutes this season.
It’s funny how many people expected the C’s to do good like I’m a Celtics fan and I was hoping for the best and all but like this team isn’t good it’s just a bunch of random talent out together and the worst part is they refuse to be coached
Jack park that isn’t the only reason why the Celtics failed. Tbh I think kyrie should and everyone on that team should sit down and talk about what went wrong. Rather than kyrie going to another team
@Jack park He had double digit assists in the more than one game in the playoffs. When he did pass his team the ball for open 3s, they missed. Everything is not Kyrie's fault. He shot terribly but so did Tatum, Hayward, and Horford. I feel like this whole situation is just an opprtunity for salty LeBron fans to disparage Kyrie in his lowest moment. People saying he can't be the best player on a team after *one* season (while excusing LeBron's sweep in 2007, choke in 2011, and sweep in 2018) sicken me.
Freezer BreezerGaming wtf is that lineup? That would be such an awkward fucking team. One, why would kd and lebron ever, ever be on the same fucking team, two, I don’t think kyrie would be content on a team like that considering there are 2 and potentially 3 players on that team better than him and he likes to be the second or first option, third Zion isn’t even in the league yet, and just because you are good in college doesn’t mean you will be good in the nba, we’ve seen it many times, I think Zion will be good but let’s not assume, fourth what in the fuck would Gordon Hayward bring to that team, he would be utterly useless on a team like that, and fifth and finally how on gods green earth would a team be able to acquire kd, lebron, and kyrie on the same team not to mention Zion and Hayward. You would have to trade like 20 people and like 5 first round picks and at that point is it even worth it and how would u be not better off using what you have. I took this comment way too seriously but it’s just too ridiculous I had to
All NBA goes by guard and not pg or sg and Kyrie is easily in the top 6 by the numbers so he'll probably get it. If he doesn't though, he deserves not to the way he wasted a year of a very talented team and really made the most likable team in the NBA (the hospital celtics of last year) hard to watch even for die hard fans of the team. They had no heart at all this year and needed both Marcus Smart and Marcus Morris moved to the starter spot just to feign heart this season. I'm glad they lost, they didn't deserve to win anything this year, and that's coming from me who lives across the river from the TD Garden and hasn't missed a game since before Rondo was drafted.
Hayward looked good with the Jazz his final year because he always had the ball in his hands, everything was set up around him. He didn't want to be the guy anymore which is one of the reasons why he left for Boston. Nobody knows how he will be as a role players or 2nd or 3rd option, but he's definitely now going to be "Utah Hayward" as everyone is hoping him to be. He was a max player in Utah for that reason, but not in Boston.
I think the criticism of Hayward is legit to an extent. It took Paul George 2 years to recover from his injury. If you want to use that as a comparable time table, then Hayward has a whole other year left to get back. At this point its more mental than physical. That said, he has to start and be given a role due to the amount of money he was given with his contract. It doesn’t seem fair due to his productivity but he was a starter before and with that, gets the option to prove the role is his until proven otherwise. Which cam to fruition and he lost the starting role. I 100% disagree on trading Hayward. Look at what happened with Paul George. Indiana didn’t trade him and he came back to be even better than before. Thats part of the reason not to trade Hayward. If your paying someone 30mil a year, you want to make good on that investment. So the organization chose to support Hayward. The other part is that, as a rule out of 1. decency, and 2. Bad publicity, you don’t trade a player after such a devastating injury. What kind of message would that send to the rest of the Celtics team and the rest of the NBA players as a whole? Time will be the deciding factor for Hayward. I think he can come back and be better than before.
BESTSNEAKERREVIEWS okay it took him 2 years. Hayward got injured when? October 2017. Now it’s May of 2019 which is 5 months from October 2019 when Hayward was injured 2 years ago. Hayward is nowhere close to 100% form and it’s been over a year a half! I understand he was injured but how can he be getting anything like these minutes when he is barely putting up 10 points... Sorry if you say anything reasonable later but I just saw you say he has a year left to get back which is just not true.
BESTSNEAKERREVIEWS yeah so easy I did it myself you absolute fucking idiot 😂😂😂😂 I literally said myself... he has been healthy for around 1 year and 7 months. I don’t know the exact date so let’s take it for what you say the 17th of October: it was the 8th of May he last played. So let’s look at this! 1 year, 6 months and a half he has been healthy for right? Sure he still has time within the 2 years the guy gave him based on his comparison to Paul George but he isn’t even close to 100% at the moment. At this rate he might be back to his old self in another years time or maybe not even ever with this team. So simple I did it myself... thanks for explaining something I already knew. You didn’t read my comment clearly did ya?
Liam Milne A whole other year meaning, another season. He’s got another 6 months to go since the season falls in between years. So he should be ready by the beginning of 2019. I don’t know that he will be, I think he will be. He might not get back. That’s always a possibility. If you really want to get technical, the injuries were different in that the injury to Hayward was at the joint versus Paul’s injury to a non joint. Again, time will tell. Disregard my previous response.
BESTSNEAKERREVIEWS thank you for acknowledging me not being dumb. I won’t be a dick about it now 😂 but yeah I genuinely hope Hayward recovers! I was just frustrated that he got so many minutes and touches as he was returning to a team competing this year. He also took away from our young budding stars (btw I am a Celtic fan). I know he needs touches to recover but man I want us to compete! And he hurt us this year with how much he played, I know we were pretty bad all around though. Anyways moving forward I hope he gets back to form soon and the Celtics have a great offseason recovering this team...
Liam Milne No I didn’t read it the comment clearly. I don’t remember exactly what I wrote yesterday. It’s not a priority to me to remember exact specifics of my responses on CZcams. Way to get all maga lol. Enjoy your time interneting...
Very difficult decisions to make this year. It will be interesting to watch. Ainge and his team overall have done a pretty good job at selecting talent and developing young players, but at the end of the day it can be hard to predict how things are actually going to work out. So it seems obvious the Kyrie Irving experiment didn't work as expected; he was untested as a leader and ultimately was not a good fit for this team. It is certainly possible Kyrie could grow into this role, but given the results this year he'll probably have to prove it on another team. I think the Celts will be looking for another good point guard who is less of a superstar and more of a facilitator. This would fit better with Brad Stevens style of basketball, which is also probably what got them as far as they did last year. Maybe stick with Haywood for at least another year because he had been an excellent all-around player and could return to form, but this is a gamble, especially considering the money he eats up. Tatum and Brown are good assets either staying with the team in expanded roles or as trade bait: the latter is what Ainge has been particularly good at -- choosing well in the draft, developing the player, and then trading them for an established talent (which is how the 2008 team was put together). Definitely keep Marcus Smart; that's the guy that gets every one else going. Horford is probably re-signing, Morris is the other guy definitely worth re-signing, but the Celts may not be able to afford him. If it came down to Morris versus Haywood, that would be a tough call. Full disclosure here --- I have no experience as an general manager of an NBA team. No really, it's true. But I think Ainge and Stevens, and their staff, are as competent as anyone in the league in navigating through all of these decisions. It will be interesting to watch.
As a long time fan living in Boston, it was painful to see Kyrie “lead” the team in the media. Him saying he was going to be the “leader” was like George Costanza giving himself his own nickname “T-Bone”. Just because you say it’s true doesn’t mean it is.
I disagree on your assertions about Kyrie not being an all around player. As someone who watched the Celtics play, Kyrie greatly improved his playmaking and facilitating skills. But that shit went out the window in the second round, though when he tried to just score, score and failed.
This is a better take ^. I definitely saw marked improvements on on ball defense and playmaking. Kyrie's teammates weren't hitting open 3s he gave to them so that stunted the offense
Kyrie isn’t a leader. Their time to contend obviously isn’t now. They’ve got to give it time to develop. They’ve got their future stars in Tatum and Brown if they can get it figured out. Need to build around it correctly.
That HC isn't a leader either so STOP trying to place all the blame at Kyrie feet. That HC overrated ASF and it showed vs Milwaukee. Plus Hayward garbage ASF, Horford old, Tatum inconsistent and Jalen Brown can't really do shit but dunk. That team was all Fuck'd up.
@@AHMAD-2324 Stevens teams have all overachieved every year but this one. One terrible series where his best player choked hard and a season of failure due to mostly that same player and his big head does not make Stevens overrated. His teams have all overachieved going back to his college coaching days. Just a bad year for the team as a whole.
Ahmad2423 literally the only thing you can criticize Stevens for, is playing Hayward way too much at times. Kyrie flat out shit the bed after Game 1 and give credit to Milwaukee, they’re a great team. However, Kyrie’s shit attitude, lack of leadership and lack of effort was on full display those final 4 games. If he wants to be “DA MAN” then he can’t get away with doing shit like that.
So everything is Kyrie's fault now? I go into every comment section and see people slandering him the first time we've really seen him struggle on the playoffs. I think it's because LBJ fans are still salty he had the balls to want to be the alpha male on a team. News flash: every great player has bad series. Get over it. LeBron played like shit in 2011 Finals yet I look up and y'all still treat him like the messiah. Dame got swept last year and he turned into Logo Lillard come playoffs. So how is this different? Wherever he goes next year he'll dominate and he'll get another ring eventually. Damn haters man.
Sam Oso as a Jazz fan, I can confirm that he will not. For every 25 point game, there will be two 17 point games. He is able to get his own shot off the dribble, but cannot deliver an accurate pass, off the bounce. He disappears when you need him most, and wilts when challenged mentally, or physically. Enjoy Celtics fans.
@@roywall8169 That's what the celtics were looking for though. They had IT, Hayward, Brown picked at #3 and the upcoming #1 pick (turned into Tatum). What they needed and still need is a guy who can just be solid all around and not hurt the team in any way. Next year he'll probably be closer to 2016 Utah and that will really help. They don't need him to be a big star, just play well. Once his contract is up it will be time to pay Tatum, that's why the signed him the year they did, so they could pay the #3 pick that year after the rookie contract was up, same with Horford and Brown the year before, all good timing on the contracts.
He’s an elite ball handler but everything else you said about him is true but he’s entertaining to watch because of that handle I’m 37 my dad played pro ball just to give you context I’ve been around basketball for a long time I’ve seen Jordan bron Kobe AI and a lot of great hoopers in my life Kyrie is probably has the best handle I’ve ever seen I think that’s why he’s overrated because people love I guy that can put anybody on skates he’s an all star level guy but gets put into superstar group because his play style is very entertaining

Gordon is Brad's boy so he's gonna look out for him. Just sucks it was at the expense of Brown & Tatum, but just the team in general. They should get rid of him, but won't
Paul pierce jinxed them by running his mouth saying the series is over after game one but in reality Bucks still would've won the series cuhz they're better am I'm right?
I wouldn't consider a 4 game sweep trouble. You're 100% right on the bucks series though. Also the Hayward got to many opportunities needs to be be put to bed. Both Brown and Tatum had more shot attempts, Tatum was playing more minutes than him and Brown played the same amount. Not to mention they both struggled as well and took a step back. Plus you have to play a guy who's been out all the previous year to get him back into rhythm. Whether it be to trade him or keep them.
It's because the national media sucks up to Boston Celtics for yrs and have overrated them a long time. For whatever reason. Add that with the delusional, cocky Celtics fans. I already knew that Toronto Raptors and the Milwaukee Bucks were the better teams and would meet in the ECF, before the season started. As did most other ppl.
That contract is the worst, or near the worst, in the league.
it’s 2022, how u feeling now?

Can we stop calling Hayward their 2nd best player at this point? It’s horford, Tatum, and maybe brown ahead of him post injury

They struggled against the pacers? They sweeped lmao
You should really look into what you're saying before you say something

That laugh in the beginning was without a doubt the most pleasant part of the Celtics season! Great job LOW
oh boy, i really expected this video.
“Ludicrous” thesaurus legend of winning FTW
Like you....here are the issues for this past season(plus a few theories which I could be wrong):
1)Brad Stevens- yeah...he looked like an amazing coach last year.
Like Bill Parcels once said, "YOU ARE WHAT YOUR RECORD SAYS YOU ARE"!!!
that intro is pure gold
Guess nobody won the trade 😐
Cavs won the trade cause they used those piece's to get better pieces
give credits to the bucks. the post season is all about adjustments. after game 1 loss. you can notice giannis on game 2 not forcing going to the paint. the celtics was just noob to make an adjustment for the system of the bucks.
Hayward should have stayed in Salt Lake City. I feel sorry for him.
epi pi every player that leaves Utah because they get a big head ends up with a bad future, Hayward is no different.
Kyrie asked for a leadership role and NEVER earned it
He hit the game winner in game 7 of an NBA Finals game. How has he not earned it?
I think it's more like he asked for it before he realized he wasn't ready for it.
@@FoxyChariot You're an idiot if you think hitting a clutch shot makes you a good leader
@@FoxyChariot I guess Ray Allen deserved a leadership role for hitting that 3 in the Finals
@@drasconboy6349 The Heat certainly would not have won without him
Nice analysis, particularly the focus on Kyrie - about trading Gordon Hayward however, even if Boston wanted to trade him, it was probably downright impossible.
I think they were overhyped. Hence why are such a big disappointment
Jack park that isn’t the only reason why the Celtics failed. Tbh I think kyrie should and everyone on that team should sit down and talk about what went wrong. Rather than kyrie going to another team
Overhyped or not, a 48 win season while integrating two “all stars” is unacceptable, they won 55 last year, should’ve traded Hayward.
u damn right
@Jack park He had double digit assists in the more than one game in the playoffs.
Celtics definitely weren't overhyped
I would love to see a lineup of kd,Lebron, kyrie, zion, hayward cuz clearly they don't matter to their team that much
Freezer BreezerGaming wtf is that lineup? I took this comment way too seriously but it’s just too ridiculous I had to
this channel is soo under rated
What happened to the podcast with agent
lillard, curry, and (arguably) harden for all nba teams @ PG over kyrie
Now that I think of it, I think I was thinking of all star not going by pg or sg and all NBA does, so I was probably wrong. Not sure though.
Arguably harden? Bro what you on
The Kyrie slander continues
Lillard getting locked tf up rn like he does every year
Danny boy, just pull a Magic and leave 🤣 you not gonna be here
Need a video on the lottery asap bro. Gotta hear your take on if it was rigged, how you feel about Zion in Nola, and if AD will be traded to NY or LA
I was waiting for this video to happen
I don’t think Gordon Hayward being bad is all his broken leg. I think he just doesn’t work well with the Celtics team
Tanner Jack he can work well with it. It is just mental that makes it hard for him
Look at the games they played without kyrie
Hayward looked good with the Jazz his final year because he always had the ball in his hands, everything was set up around him. He didn't want to be the guy anymore which is one of the reasons why he left for Boston. Nobody knows how he will be as a role players or 2nd or 3rd option, but he's definitely now going to be "Utah Hayward" as everyone is hoping him to be. He was a max player in Utah for that reason, but not in Boston.
Btw I don't think he can be your best player on a championship squad as of yet, but he has the talent to be that guy. It's all mental for him.
Can you do a video on the jazz 2019-2020 season potential
3:05 tripped me out because I thought it was a picture not a video
The truth is both Kyrie and Hayward made them worse Kyrie is not a team superstar and Hayward is still not 100%
Radoslav Takev Jr. the thing about Hayward is that he can be good with the Celtics if he gets more confident but kyrie just doesn’t fit well
Kyrie can be leader. He just needs to fix the rift in Boston or go somewhere where the fans don't slander you when you have a bad series.
Rey Parker he doesn’t fit with Boston’s system though
Ainge and his team overall have done a pretty good job at selecting talent and developing young players, but at the
end of the day it can be hard to predict how things are actually going to work out.
Good video. Agree with your points.
hey low how your lakers doing
lakers have a brighter future than the celtics
@Jack park lakers the 1st seed rn
whatchu mean he didn't want his own team, that's exactly what Kyrie wanted, come on
He didnt
As a long time fan living in Boston, it was painful to see Kyrie “lead” the team in the media. Him saying he was going to be the “leader” was like George Costanza giving himself his own nickname “T-Bone”. Just because you say it’s true doesn’t mean it is.
I swear I thought u was about to start singing that Kesha blow song at the beginning 😭😭
I disagree on your assertions about Kyrie not being an all around player. As someone who watched the Celtics play, Kyrie greatly improved his playmaking and facilitating skills. But that shit went out the window in the second round, though when he tried to just score, score and failed.
And ur also a Celtics fan😂
Celtics off ball offense was horrendous.
@@AHMAD-2324 Brad Stevens isn't the one chucking those bricks all day. Brad didn't make the decision to trade for Irving, Ainge did.
0:27 shocked me, thought the Celtics shirt said “Cus Crise”
I don’t know what’s next for the Celtics but I do know that they are still going be one of the better teams in the league even if they lose Kyrie.
Hayward has no elite skill. He is average at everything. At his very best, he is the third option on a conference finals level team.
roylynn wall he will be better next season.
Enjoy Celtics fans.
showed up in the game 7 vs clippers
That's why you don't listen to people on the radio on TV are analysts you watch the game and do your own eye test these people get paid just to Hype it up that's it so watch the games with your own eyes and use your own mind remember these people get paid just to Hype it up
agreed..the warriors get the benefit of the doubt cause of talent and what they have done pre and with kd...every other team vs the bucks should not be given that same credit..the bucks have proven to me that they are at worst the 2nd best team this season cause they play as a team and have a coach and system...heck they may be the best team just with less talent than the warriors....their the peak spurs east right now...the actually play not just iso...right rockets?...they move they hustle they pass...remember the 2015 warriors?..what about the 2015 cavs 2011 mavs 2009 magic 2007 cavs 2004 pistons...those teams got it done with little belief from others...why cant the bucks
