What a great project to do and easy as well. What i would do different is to place round pipe foam insulation around frame for extra padding for your back. Add maybe a 3 inch pvc pipe on side as a fishing pole carrier as well. There are endless things you could attach later on . Again, great job and gives me something to make .
Great video, I’m currently working on one right now I used a similar set up but I attached a black plastic cutting board I picked up at 99 cent store.drilled four holes in the shelf part of the pvc after getting a small price of wood inside to drill through as well, and to hold bolts/screws in place then I hand screwed screws in test fitted with already cut & sanded board cut screws to the size I needed and used four wing nuts on screws to hold board on. Then I had a sturdy shelf that could be removed and used as a cutting board at camp. Then I simply bungee coarser a rubber trash can and attached one of those cheap rothco Canvas G.I. Type Mini Alice Packs to the trash can hung my bedroom underneath the stealth hatchet on one side of trash can and saw on the other with pathfinder water bottle set. Got the idea of Dave’s video been assembling it as I get parts in
How did you attach the shoulder straps? I have a Molle pack, with straps coming tomorrow. but if it doesn't fit my hunting needs then I may try this system. Do you have a separate video for attaching the straps?
bashfulbrother I found some dimensions via Google and several other vids I found. Even if u don't like the dimensions you just take it apart and cut it some more.
It is very light compared to the regular alice pack frame. It is light and very sturdy... now granted it is not one of those 70 lb frames that could pack you into the back country for 5 days.. but it leads up nicely with about 30 lbs if needed.
not that this is a bad idea but I might suggest without all this extra word bending painting and all that just go to your military surplus store and buy a regular pack for what 15-20 bucks I mean this is just ridiculous in a way but I do like the idea but I don't want to go through that much work rather just mount load and go that's what we did in the military way back when
Clay Chandler I hear you... but the problem with the Alice pack frame is that it doesn't really fit or sit well on your back. I probably should have bought a specialized pack, but was just being cheap.

Have just been using rope as arm straps but hope to make some more heavy duty canvas ones to more permanently attach
Nice job! With a plastic valve and fitting you could also carry your water inside. Instant canteen! Cheers.
Clean work. Looks like it was made by the military.
You can heat up sand in a pot and use it to bend pvc by filling it up
I have used hot water before, never tried sand though.
good work.think of adding three whiilwd trolley wheels so that it can be used on road too.
Sir ..please make a video on how to attach the pack on the frame you made...good video learned a lot watching...thank you very much
thank you i am making one for my proton pack, what is your dimensions? this was informative. (Dan from inside the booth)
So how did it hold up? I like the idea bit it wont break with a decent load in the pack?
This looks perfect for carrying around my speaker system (SoundBoks)! Will give it a go. :)
Great video, now post one with a review of the frame. Definitely interested in trying this now. Thanks!
So. Did the pack fit on the frame. Looked at your videos and did not see the final product.

wow this is a great idea ! thanks
I bet you could use electrical conduit might give er a build and check back
Nice job! What's the weight of the frame without the straps?
What kind of weight are you rucking? Does pvc pipe have a weight rating?
Did you ever consider PVC cement instead of screws?
Neils Dahlberg yes I thought about it but read people were using screws in the event a piece broke and needed to be replaced.
Would you post a video of either where you got the directions, or how you assembled this and the parts you used?

U did a great job bro
Nice, was curious if you would ever make one to sell?
Is PVC strong? What's the weight limit? Looking to put my jbl partybox on one.
I think I am gonna build a custom frame for my HELLcat mod. PVC or copper pipe ?
I invented the PVC Alice pace frame 7 years ago......
Gary Briggs it really works great... especially with Molle kidney belt mod.
I invented it eight years ago . . . .
As soon as PVC tubing appeared on the market, I invented it. Gotcha !
Wait, no ! I also invented the PVC tubing ! Wait, no ! I Invented PVC !!!
Has anyone tried this with shed 80 grey? Seems like it may up durability
what is the difference in wait? that is an awesome job.

weight*
What diameter pipe did you use
jacob mckinney 1/2... it really turned out well once u tweak with bends and stuff.
How well has this PVC held up?
Very good.. used it several times and made another one for another pack.
Fill the void with spray foam
Do u sale any ?
Alice packs claim to fame is the frame its a work horse
Is it lighter than the issue frame?
I have not weighed it but I think it is.
How durable is it ?
It is pretty durable.. not something I would pack 60-70 lbs but a decent load bearing frame.
Military grade PVC
Is it squeaky after awhile?
