- We are getting close to the end of this build now as I add the interior detailing and assemble, paint and fit the two roof pieces.

Very informative as usual, Paul. I especially liked the roof treatment sequence with the use of the sponge. I have some sponges but have not yet used them much, so this video is on point for me. I look forward to seeing the next installment. Cheers from Wisconsin!
Thanks Andrew. What the video doesn’t convey is the repetition to that sponging, very light passes all over the roof altering the colour palette as I went. Hope that helps a little more. Paul

Through 2021 I have followed yours, Tony North Eastern and John at Picadilly's builds with admiration and got the inspiration to give scratch building/kit bashing a go although at a basic level.

You've certainly put plenty of time and effort in making this great little signal box. I would imagine that the flat roof would have had some kind of material on it but when you don't have any photos to go on what you've done is most probably the better option.
Enjoyed watching this build series. My O gauge commission didn't come to fruition as customer wasn't prepared to wait the original time given, so maybe next year I might embark on doing my very first signal box kit.

It was a hard call on the roof and I suspect you’re right whether it was bitumen, felt and gravel or something.
It’s a shame your commission didn’t come off, there’s undoubtedly space for more variations of signal boxes to be had in the marketplace. We could tag team a kit version of my build. 😝 😉. Merry Christmas Steve. Paul

Wonderful job on the signal box and the interior Paul. Perhaps it's just me, but wouldn't that lever frame assembly have been on the window side of the box, so the Signalman can see what's going on?
