But what I am seeing them do to my beloved world is killing the child in me in a painful way. Great video, Jay! For me, it really was educational. I looked up DEI and ESG on Wikipedia, and what I found was eye-opening. DEI stands for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. It's a world-wide enterprise, which has exploded since 2020. Billions of dollars are spent on 'inclusion,' and we all know that kind of money is never spent without a profit motive. Corporations have hiring quotas and diversity training, while academic institutions require their staff to sign mandatory affirmations of their commitment to diversity. So, those content creators at Disney are just doing their job---which is to indoctrinate the masses. ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and (Corporate) Governance. ESG is about investment criteria for huge corporations. It is responsible of diversity staffing, which means hiring mostly women and minorities. These staff members must comply with the Corporate Culture, or risk losing their jobs. So, they are also indoctrinated in the DEI mindset, which they dutifully preach like devoted converts. All very interesting stuff, which explains a lot of what we are seeing in our culture now.

Fans loved Star Wars & on a whole it was a happy community where all were welcome. Then along comes Disney & they inform us that no we aren't a happy close community,infact we are all racists and sexists. Disney and Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy slowly but surely destroys and divides the fanbase,attacking us over and over again. It is Disney that brought the hate,it is Disney that has fractured our once wonderful fanbase. They talk about equality and accepting people from all walks of life but this is something they themselves reuse to do. I have been a fan of Star Wars since it first released when I was nearly 6 years old. Fast-forward to today in my 50s and I still have a love for the universe. But what I am seeing them do to my beloved world is killing the child in me in a painful way. It warms my heart to see younger men and women standing up for the majority and using their platforms to do it. Anyone that hates on you, can't handle the truth and needs to get off of the internet. Keep up the great work Jay. You are a beautiful human and your fanbase is growing.

I feel sorry for the fans, be they casual fans, mega fans, or anyone in between. Don't feel sorry for George Lucas. He got his $4 billion payout. Definitely don't feel sorry for Disney. They F'd around and found out. They are 100% responsible for the downfall of Star Wars.

@@user-io9ie5cs8j A lot of people think so. Some people think they want to make it to reflect the LA they live in today. Others think it's the money. When George Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney he didn't sign over ALL the rights. Disney has to pay royalties to Lucas for the use of certain characters, locations, ships, items, etc., so if they get those things out of the Stsr Wars universe, they don't have to pay.

I looked up DEI and ESG on Wikipedia, and what I found was eye-opening.
DEI stands for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. It's a world-wide enterprise, which has exploded since 2020. Billions of dollars are spent on 'inclusion,' and we all know that kind of money is never spent without a profit motive. Corporations have hiring quotas and diversity training, while academic institutions require their staff to sign mandatory affirmations of their commitment to diversity. So, those content creators at Disney are just doing their job---which is to indoctrinate the masses.
ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and (Corporate) Governance. ESG is about investment criteria for huge corporations. It is responsible of diversity staffing, which means hiring mostly women and minorities. These staff members must comply with the Corporate Culture, or risk losing their jobs. So, they are also indoctrinated in the DEI mindset, which they dutifully preach like devoted converts.
All very interesting stuff, which explains a lot of what we are seeing in our culture now.

I was watching Real Rejects when the Star Wars guy on their channel said 2 thing that really stuck out to me.
First he said he was grateful for all the Star Wars content we get from Disney no matter how bad some of it is. Then much later in the video he said he doesn't understand why we as fans don't hold the quality of Star Wars to a higher standard.
It left me thinking about how contradictory his 2 statements were. Why should Disney make better content when you're more than happy to watch whatever low quality trash they feed you.

Been watching for a few months now, I like your Snarky Brillance, opinions that hit the point of the material usually neglecting the fans that are at the base in their resent efforts to bring "entertainment". The fans are disapproving to changes that could be used to start their own characters in another galaxy far far away and leave the established franchises alone or at least keep it light in introduction. This heavy-handed overhaul of canon is self-serving not fanservice.

In 1977 a little movie called Star Wars was released & it became a worldwide phenomenon. It brought people from all over the world together,regardless of race gender,religion and spawned one of the biggest fanbases of all time. This grew & grew with the next 2 movies & then another generation along with the old came together to celebrate the prequels. Fans loved Star Wars & on a whole it was a happy community where all were welcome. Then along comes Disney & they inform us that no we aren't a happy close community,infact we are all racists and sexists. Disney and Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy slowly but surely destroys and divides the fanbase,attacking us over and over again. It is Disney that brought the hate,it is Disney that has fractured our once wonderful fanbase. They talk about equality and accepting people from all walks of life but this is something they themselves reuse to do. This company and the people who currently run it are evil,they do not care about Star Wars one bit. I,like you all wait patiently for change,the day we get our Star Wars back again.
Episode 7 is out, I heard one reviewer start to review it but I logged out because I am going to wait for Snarky Jay to review it first. Who said that Disney cannot produce a good comedy still. I was worried I would never laugh again when She Hulk did not get renewed for another season. Thank you Bob, Lesley, Amanda and KK, Disney fan for life.
