  • This bike is the holy grail for shorter riders and makes any trail easy mode for anyone taller. Between its low seat height, surprising capabilities, and long service intervals. This bike is one of the best long term ownership experiences and is a great starting point for someone getting into motorcycles.

    I have the exact same bike. You showed the magic of dual sport, that is being able to tear around a little riding area then head back out onto the pavement to find another one. I've had bigger bikes XL600/TT650 but the small bikes are more fun to flick around on the trails and you don't have to worry if you are alone and bury it in a mud-hole. The little four strokes are quiet and don't annoy the neighbourhood like the motocross bikes I rode in the 70s. Robert - North of Toronto,On

    I’ve been thinking about one of these for too long now . Been looking at the Honda CRF300L, but after watching this video , you just convinced me , this is all I need ! Simple design low maintenance, lightweight, yet has enough technology with fuel injection and very capable dependable bike . I just ordered a 2022 from my dealer $5,100 . I think it’s a bargain !

      Last year the dealerships were devoid of most anything. It will be interesting if the supply keeps up with the demand. I read several articles about dual sports being the number 1 buying choice for folks last year. Great gas mileage ( especially the XT250 ) decent street manners and equally decent in the woods/trails.. Often overlooked is the power band which is perfect for anyone who isn't racing to get to the next stop light or turn in the trail..

      I'm in the same situation as you. xt250 or crf300. I'm torn.... I watch Itchy Boots and she loves her crf250. In Australia dealers won't sell new bikes that do not have ABS brakes, (new law that came in a few years ago) so manufacturers are discontinuing making them for here, which is a pain because now we don't have much to chose from.

    • @NorthwoodsNomad
      @NorthwoodsNomad Před 2 lety +3

      @@ladytradiej8027 yeah , it’s coming full circle for everyone soon , being compliant with emissions and up to date safety features wherever available is the new standard.
      My XT250 is due to arrive at the end of March, and I can’t wait to ride it .. even when the day comes for ABS compliance, that will only apply to those who ride on the highways and urban environments. I live in the country and only ride two tracks and very remote dirt roads with hardly any blacktop in between, so I’m not too concerned about it for now .

    I'm amazed at the lack of rocks like in my areas to ride. If you really want to perk it up without touching the engine or exhaust, simply spend $ 20 and put a 14 tooth front sprocket on it. Makes 2, 3, 4th much more usable in the woods and tight trails. You have the perfect area to ride the XT250.. I'm forced to take my 2019 XT250 in areas where it's not meant to go. But it goes there anyway.. Just a bit slower than the 5 figure bikes. Keep it off the Interstates and you'll be a happy camper..

      Not at all man. My Lexus ES300 is more comfortable then the Camaro, the fun and adrenaline factor of my XSR 700 is far beyond what the Camaro could offer. And as you can see this xt250 brings me on adventures that no car can. I went off 20 jumps this evening alone after I uploaded this lol.
      When I bought the xsr last year and rode it for the first time I was blown away. The most fun car I had ever reviewed was the Shelby GT350 and in my head I was thinking the whole time "dude this is amazing, this is so much more intense than that Shelby" I paid $8,000 for that brand new XSR that day. The Shelby is $60,000 lol. That was the day I fell in love with motorcycles. All three of my vehicles put together is only half the price of that Camaro.
      Between the bikes, my band, lifting, hanging out with my wife-to-be, and playing PS5, I feel blessed to say that I enjoy all of that with no debt in my life and I'm now able to save money for a house.

    I just bought a 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan and don't really like it. Too heavy and way too slow. Can barely get 59-60 into a headwind (411 cc and 435 lbs) and am already thinking about downgrading to a lighter bike that will go as fast (about 59-60 Into a headwind). I'm really thinking about selling it already and getting a 250 or 300 cc lighter bike. what highway speeds can you get?

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  Před 3 lety +3

      Well Full Throttle it will go almost 85 miles per hour. But it doesn't really like the freeway either. I am talking about my CRF300L. When I had the XT it would go 70 for throttle

    • @spydie
      @spydie Před 3 lety +1

      @@TheCoolestCourier OK Yeah, I was talking about the XT250 (that's the video above). I didn't know you had upgraded to a CRF300L. I was looking at that one also, but the Rally model for the bigger tank and panniers available to make it into an adventure/touring bike (probably the lightest adventure/touring bike on the market?). I'm a little concerned the XT250 might not be a good choice as it might have a hard time running 65-70 if I have a headwind (and we get a lot of wind out here in NM, and it's always a head wind!). I've got a 300cc Vespa GTS that will do 80 mph all day long. But the 411cc Himalayan really sucks for road speed. 65 mph on a good day is what it likes to cruise at, although with no wind and flat road it will cruise at 70, but into a headwind, about 60 mph. so I'm still kicking it around and looking at the Xt250 and the CRF300L. The XT weighs a little less and has a lower seat height, so that's something to consider also.

      I've always wanted to ride an mto3. I kind of like that about my CRF, you can hold wide open throttle through a bunch of gears and barely be speeding. My 2022 xsr 900 goes 0 to 100 mph in 5.2 seconds, not even joking. So if you have the throttle pin for more than a few seconds you're breaking every speed limit in the country. It's super thrilling on big rural empty roads but it takes discipline to ride around the city
