  • Have you ever read a social media post that made you really angry or sad? Or seemed too good to be true? Did you stop to think if it was true?
People who post disinformation use strong emotions to manipulate us and spread their message.
The European Parliament’s communications team helps you understand how they do this and how you can avoid falling into their trap.

you are totally right. fact checkers are all well and good but who actually checks the fact checkers? there are numerous cases of them being caugt red handed. This advertisement paid for by the taxpayer is an insult to all European citizens when we know who controls and finances social networks and TV channels. EU advertising against fake news is so ironic...

So we have to be critical of news media trying to clickbait with horrific headlines and pictures and misleading opinion pieces or advertising campaigns designed to stealthy further a political ideology or party using taxpayers money?

I think everyone should be able to choose themselves what is disinformation and what not. And the EU should actually try todo stuff on which it was once good at instead of destroying economies because of bribery.

More ads like these on youtube! This should be integrated to youtube users first before they are allowed to use the site. This should be mandatory for youtube - the more aware we are what we watch, the better for us. Not just to watch out for disinformation but also how we work as humans and how important it is to be aware of your emotions and feelings - the better life you will live.

Don't think going after them online is the answer. Those in this video are not even small fry, not even pawns. They're disposable to their overlords like a plastic bottle. _"You drank all the contents? Squeezed out all the juice? Well, throw it in a trashcan to recycle and buy a new one!_ 😀" And online harassment can get you in trouble. Not worth it.
But I AM surprised this *SHIT* didn't get ratioed more yet. Probably because people agree with the basic premise, which is good, you *SHOULDN'T* trust everything you see. But the pictures in correlation with which the point is made attacks one political wing only. Instead of being unbiased. Which is why no ratio is baffling......
*Kids, in short, the correct answer to this video is: don't trust EVERYTHING you see, question it, draw from multiple sources - in America, if you watch FoxNews, watch CNN as well (and vice versa), but also draw from the unbound, limitless library that is the internet citizen journalism and citizen political commentary. Listen to both the carefully crafted mainstream media narratives and then real people to determine for yourself what is fact and what is not!*

yes indeed, we should pay more attention when goverment organizations spread dangerous disimformation, like 100% safe and effective, or definately didn't come from a lab, or money printing doesn't cause inflation. thanks for the tip.
