No other skater can bring a smile and a laugh to everyone in the audience like Scott Hamilton can! Unbelievable! So many moves were innovative and still are to this day! We don't see anyone doing this kind of thing. I used to ice skate myself, and I can see expertise a mile away in him. He does things no other skater does. And that is what is so intriguing. Aside from the control over the audience he has! He has them in the palm of his hand.

Watched Scott from beginning.....thank you for posting his performance. He was unbeatable...tho many mimicked his style and his back flip....no one could come close. He is legendary. ⛸ 🎖💐 ⛸
Scott’s skating style is so deliberate. You know he is going to jump because he takes his time and broadcasts it. Absolutely beautiful. And at the end, you know he is happy with his performance as there is joy written all over his face. He is one of the all times greats.

He is just the best. I didn’t know until recently, that backflip is against the rules in competition. He did it anyway, and won all those U.S. and World Championships. And I can’t believe in ‘84 those Olympic judges gave him the scores for gold. Especially those East German and Russian judges. He’s Scott Hamilton, and he couldn’t be denied. Period.
His skating is the reason why they should bring back the school figures. Now, all they do is skate, quad, fall! No artistically balanced program. No finesse, just skate, quad, and FALL!
That's because the scoring system overemphasizes the difficulty of the jumps. As long as the skater doesn't fall, a bad quad scores better than a perfect triple.
No one like him. His joy is palpable and his skating is immaculate.
