  • This tutorial features how to paint the French 2nd corp, 6th division, 2nd foot artillery company, 2nd regiment that fought in Waterloo.
Of course, you can use this tutorial to paint up any French footartillery battery, but I’ve included specific features known to have been historically represented on this particular battery in 1815.
It’s a quick and fun way to get three stands ready for battle in less than an hour. Enjoy!

Just an observation, but the jackets have turn backs on the tales which in this case should be red. Now I note that for some reason the colour plate did not show the rear of the uniform so I get why you would miss this, Also a question. Why did you mount the figures together before painting? Doesn't this make the job harder because you have to work around the other figures?

I actually love input like this so thank you for commenting. Napoleonic miniature painters are among the most detail oriented and I really appreciate that.
Yes I probably missed the turn backs if I’m completely honest! The painting guide I’m using didn’t show the rear of the uniforms so it slipped my mind. But it’s a great observation and I’ll be sure to look out for that detail in the next units I paint.
As far as painting them fully based it’s more of personal preference. It’s not hindering enough to get in my way at least not on these artillery ones. But of course you can paint it and then assemble it that works better. I’m just used to this.
