I would have put the garlic and rosemary in a cheesecloth! With the herbs tightly tied inside! Cheesecloth will allow for the infusion to happen and no mess!
A little tip, when your putting things in you water you want out just put it in a teabag.

What about cheese cloth or muslin to steep the garlic, etc in?
The odds of me doing this is slim but enjoy following your process!
Here we just collect salt in rocks, in holes. Just sun energy!

Have you thought of boiling the water half and harvest the accumulated salt pieces in the water ? Instead of boiling and drying the water in the container.

I actually made some salt in February, following the instructions in your first seasalt video. Turned out great! My only concern is: how can i be sure it's really clean enough for eating? There is no visual contamination like sand. But what about smaller things, like micro plastics? Should I have this tested before letting my family eat it? And how would i do that?
this is not the way to make salt, you do not boil down to solid.. heavy metals like magnesium and calcium are retained and make it bitter, you must only boil down the water to a certain level where the salinity is so high that salt crystals naturally form in what's left over in the water.. you than scoop Those out of the "Brine" essentially and dehydrate that

There's microplastics everywhere at this point, my friend. When you gather the water you could try letting it sit for a couple days and decant. Then again for another day and decant. All the heavy object would sit at the bottom if you happened to grab sand and other large particles. It would equate to a bit less salt produced.

What about the bitter magnesium salts that are left? They are bitter. Luckily, there are ways around it if you search it up. I DO know that Magnesium salts evaporate faster than table salt.

You cannot. Fresh water does not have salt in it. Tap water also does not have salt.
You buy sea salt... and blend it with your garlic and rosemary... this recipe requires ocean water....but that's how you make rosemary garlic salt

From the pacific ocean. We are on the west coast of Canada
Chlore attacks stainless steel so I would be concerned about getting nickel and chrome. I suggest a glass pot.
