I agree with with both J sai deepak and Professor menon. Actually the end of the day development needs to come from within and our metrics of development be it temple architecture, should not be according to the west. But having said that Sai deepak is absolutely correct when he said the pedestrian path should not be kept ancient. This argument is very logical since during ancient times population was less and hence narrow roads would have sufficed. But then professor menon's argument also should be upheld, that while improving the pavement we should not (or at least we should minimize) destruction of old structures
