I hate when people worry about their DPS... their gear... it's all about the epicness of it all. If you've played this and taken a long, long, break from it, you look back and think. Nostalgia just drowned me. I feel very happy when I listen to this. Sad. Melancholy. Blizzard being able to create this is a miracle in itself. I thank them.
Grizzly Hills was the best part of leveling up in Wrath for me. I lucked out and as a hunter, I had no trouble leveling. But then a friend of mine who was a Paladin wanted to power level as well. This is one my favorite memories of WoW in general. We rofledstomped our way to 80 and it started in Grizzly Hills.
I haven't played WoW since late WoD, but I still sometimes think about the epic moments I had in my experiences in WoW. This zone and this music rank among the best.
Its hard not to imagine a lonely fur trader playing this music just over the next hill to pass the time, and the whole forest stops to listen to the notes echo through the trees as if the music of that fur trader reflected the spirit of the forest itself.
In my opinion, Grizzly Hills was the most beutiful place i've ever seen in WotLK. i like wandering around and see all the wildlife around it. The little group of animals, the heards of horses, the everlasting battles over all the resources. Aaaaah, the times.
I wish I could go back 5 years to play this for the first time again. That feeling.. will never come back. All new wow releases are fun for 2 months, then I rather start 30 character and slowly level it up, waiting to go through wotlk areas again.
+Jing Mu You can always turn your XP off at your capital city. Or choose not to wear heirlooms. Also... just because you out-level a zone doesn't mean you can't continue to experience the zone. You just won't get as much xp for it.

Going to grizzly hills the first time and doing every single quest there was probably my single favorite part of wotlk. The environment and music were just fantastic, it felt almost like a single player rpg.
This is by far the best music in wow, not only is it soothing, but it flows so well with the zone that it is almost impossible not to imagine your character really standing at one of its amazing views taking a break from being a hero to reflect on how far they have come and on the amazing things they have seen. I may be looking in to it a little too much though, if so then sorry for sounding wierd.
I remember the first time I set foot in this zone during the first couple of days of the expansions' launch. I remember thinking how beautiful everything was, despite the fact I had to exterminate giant Viking people. The entire time in this zone, this tune would just sit in the back of my head. When I logged off, I found myself humming it. :) That is the World of Warcraft I remember. Leveling trying to get to the Icecrown Citadel.

@1990bjb No, I think most players get that same sense of Awe when they visit Grizzly Hills and hear this music. I personally find this to be my favorite zone... far away from all the hustle and bustle of Dalaran and Icecrown back in the day, out in the middle of nowhere not battling scourge for once. It's a realistic zone, one might come across a place like Grizzly Hills in real life.
The quest where you had to scare those mustangs... I found it sad to do. Just so awesome to see them running. I am just not questing anymore even though Im at 74. Im just wandering around.
When playing WoW the music is a great part of it and after playing for a couple years i decided that This is my favourite piece of music. Its so soothing and i always use the soundfile to play it over all other areas music. I also really like the OLD booty bay music when i was in a bit more happy mood :)
The best moments were these where I was derping around in the beginning as a noob , discovering every cool new feature.. doing quests in these new areas with friends and enjoying the MMORPG. These days there's only the RPG left.. I miss those old days full of good memories

It's true. But everything in the past is always better, because we only remember the really good things and how it felt. I used to dislike Cata, but I can't help feel a little nostalgic and happy when hearing the Log-in soundtrack.

The music sounds as if its creators were influenced of the Scandinavian folkmusic and melodies. Lots of sad and bittersweet tones. And since the Vrykyl and their villages and names of both are very influenced of the Viking-era of Scandinavia Jotunheim in Icecrown can be compared to the region of Jotunheimen in Norway.

We say we miss Vanillia We say we miss BC We say we miss WOTLK. After these expansions I truely find it hard to not get bored in this game. I love MOP its great but it never live up to WOTLK or BC why? Because back then the game revolved heavyly around characteristics of zones which all looked diffrent frome ach other. I look at MOP and it seems all the same it really does which is a shame I call Panderia "Lots of colourful tree land."
@BonnieBlueFlag1314 the only downside to that is that the experience only lasts for the first couple of months afterwards it just boils down to, as you said, number crunching...at least it did for me : / i do have to agree though World of warcraft can be a wonderful experience

@nonmodfag It kind of matches Canada a little more, from a stereotyping view anyways. Trappers and woodcutters who live in log houses. I think Northrend's zones are more just based on all northern countries, though Grizzly Hills does make me think Canada. I'm Canadian by the way.

i disagree with this completely... a lot of the music is really good. a couple notable favorites i have are (that arent even from wotlk) the music in black temple, namely the summit music, Grim Batol the dungeon in cataclysm, and the vale of eternal blossoms from mists of pandaria. when i think of blizzard, i think of how amazing almost all of the music is in all of their games and how immersive it makes the experience.
