- The Runaway Gang heads down to Norcross, Ga Southland RV to pick up our brand new 2023 ROG 12RK Adventure Trailer by Encore RV! You finally get to hear why we changed out our tow vehicle from the Subaru Outback to the Toyota Tacoma!
Come experience the ROG 12RK with us as we take it straight from the dealer to Bald Ridge Creek Campground to test everything out!
Yes, we are just that crazy! Heck, we are gangsters!
Great new Truck & Camper! I also moved up from Subaru to mid-size pickup truck. Love my CoolCamp but who knows, someday I might want a larger “Shoebox “ Happy Camping!
Happy that the secret is out! I like the #RunOwayGang!
Yeah, us too! 😎
Great video! Congratulations on the ROG!!
Thanks! Enjoying the heck out of it so far! Many more videos to come! Mod videos! Adventure videos! We be bringing it! 😎
It is beautiful. I am looking at this one versus the Hiker Trailer midrange offroad.
Thanks! We are thrilled so far! We didn’t look at the hiker trailers. Are they similar in price? Thanks for stopping by!
Run Oway Gang
Hahaha! Love it!
Very nice!
I’m laying in my RangeRunner now super jealous of that new kitchen! We have an Iron Man awning room - much like the ARB and we keep our kitchen stuff in there. Woke up this morning and found it had been invaded. We put out mothballs and stuff, nope. They walked right in again tonight! Gotta find new storage… ugh.
Hope you enjoy the heck out of your new rig!
Oh man! Ain’t nothing worse than critters getting into your food! They sure can make a mess! Yes, the rear kitchen plan is perfect for us! We love to be outside when we are camping and it’s kinda the best of both worlds. As when we are done with food and cleanup we can just close up the back doors and we are done! So yes, the rear kitchen is a huge plus for us! Hope you can find a storage solution that can keep the critters out!
I have a plan for storage.
Our next purchase is going to be a 12v fridge. I’m DONE with coolers. I think we also want to get a propane camp fire. I LOVE wood fire, but she’s got asthma and it doesn’t go well.
Watched the camera pan from the trailer and caption to Mark and my silly brain thought it said "just over 200 pounds empty" meant you! Hahaha! Very nice rig and even a stereo in the kitchen! Looks off-road worthy too! My neighbor down below just built a tear-drop trailer on a Northern Tools trailer frame - it has that kitchen under the hood feature. They're sure tempting - so unlike the old canned ham trailers of the 60's. Alas, I'm afraid of them after rolling a loaded cargo trailer on black ice a couple years ago.
Dude! Didn’t know ya rolled a trailer! Hope there are no lasting physical issues from it!
Yes, I actually thought about building one myself, but Pam fell in love with this one!
@@TheRunawayGang She has good taste. ;^) Rolled the trailer in Kearney, NE Dec 2020 when we were driving out to set up the 2nd home in Cornville. Broke the turkey platter is all. Totaled the trailer. My Larrivee dread was in it and was still in tune when we got there in a Uhaul. Dumb on my part Mark - I was using cruise control and hit the black ice under an over pass. Not sure there's any steering out of an accident like that when it starts to fish tail. God took care of us. Tundra stayed upright - trailer rolled - we landed in the median of I-80, at the bottom of on/off ramps with service station and heated cafe where KK and our cat waited while I arranged a tow. Same exit had a trailer repair facility who let me park there while I arranged the UHaul, and transferred everything in -40F weather. I've pulled a trailer since, but no longer confident about it in any but warm dry weather. BTW - we sold the Cornville place and back in WA full time now. The 2 home thing means here or there and no time or money for travel and fun. Planning some west coast vacations for the fall.
Wow! That is scary for sure! That is crazy that the truck stayed up right! God was definitely smiling on ya that day! 😃 we’ll have to swing by and and say hey when we make our big trek out west! Put ya in one of our videos! 😉
@@TheRunawayGang We're pretty far west ... Look up Sequim, WA, Mark. Beautiful north face of the Olympic Mt range, overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca, San Juan Islands, Vancouver Island. In peak summer, you'd need reservations at the camp grounds - though we can put you up nicely on a couple acres. We're in easy driving range of lots of hikes and beaches. ;^)
Nice trailer 😊👏👍
We love it so far! Already took it out to Holden beach for a week trip and it did awesome!
@@TheRunawayGang Where is that? (J/K!)
👍😎
😎😎😎
Hey guys - saw the porta at 9:40 - do you have a pop up type shower/commode tent for it? It's that subject kept us from ever camping or buying a runabout boat ...
Yep, we have a small shower tent that we can set up! Works great!
Why did you get rid of the Runaway?
For us and the type of camping we do the runaway necessitated a lot of food and cooler moving back and forth between the runaway and the tow vehicle. The ROG allows us to simply close the back kitchen doors and the food is secured and kept cool and we can take the vehicle and go explore! Plus the ROG is setup really well for camping off grid! 43 gallon fresh water tank and plenty of solar capability! Hope that answers your questions!
