    The point is that God's epistemic situation is vastly superior to our own. Our knowledge is finite. His knowledge is infinite. Though evil is emotionally difficult, it doesn't seem to me to be logically incompatible with God's existence.

    I found this to be an enlightening video series on tv; Kyle Idleman speaks at our church about once a month - before "not a fan" hit the media. I can say, without a doubt, Kyle Idleman is the real deal. Please watch this series on tv; if you don't have access to it, I highly recommend you purchase it; I've watched it several times and always learn something new. This isn't an advertisement - just need to get the word out; Please Google, "Not A Fan.org".

    we don't need another book people need to pick up the BIBLE and start reading it for what it is the power it has in it. if we are Christians we should be in chains for the Gospel as it says in Philippians 1. Also We all have the spirit to lead us the Advocate as it says in John 16.No Other Gospel Galatians 1:10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

    Dear God, I am a sinner...a Christian sinner. I have strayed from your path. I am no longer going by your word. And because of it, I am LOST again. I am using you to convince myself and others that I belong to you, when I'm not. I am sorry. I repent. And I want to come back to you, and walk with you for the rest of eternity. Help me find the way back to you. Send Jesus to save me. I want him living in my heart and running my life. Whatever I lose from following you is just garbage anyway. Amen.

    Mark 10:52, Luke 7:50, Mark 5:34 - your faith has healed you. No matter what we do it is our faith - it all comes down to faith, no matter our circumstances. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God" --Not by works but by faith (by the grace of God by what Jesus did for us) we are saved (Ephesians 2:8). Whatever we do is only a manifestation of our faith. Jesus has done all the work. In His Name, Amen.

It's not the woeks that saves us, but there is evidence of our love for those we say we love. Read all of James. I think it'll encourage you to go to work for the Lord.

    Right, that's a good point. This is either mythological or parabolic. But let's assume that it is mythological and that the bible is wrong. What would follow? That God doesn't exist? That Christianity is false? All that would follow is that the doctrine of biblical inerrancy is false. We could still conclude that Christianity is true without positing such a doctrine. Specifically, we could do this through the hist. argument from Jesus' rez from the dead.

  • @gmacdonald87

    Yeah, why does an all-powerful God allow suffering?I don't know.Nobody does.But do we need to? I don't really think so. Maybe, if the Christian God exists, the purpose of life is not happiness but knowledge of God? If this is true then maybe God uses suffering, directing it providentially, so that the maximal number of people who would freely come to know him would? Many other reasons given. The point is that just because we don't know the reason it doesn't follow that God and suffering conflict

    I have a major problem with the theology that Kyle is teaching. Nobody is justified/regenerated by following Jesus. In the book "Not a Fan" page 32, he says "When we decide to believe in Jesus without making a commitment to follow him, we become nothing more than fans." He is implying that to believe in Jesus is simply not enough to save someone.
    However, the scripture gives one condition for receiving eternal life (what most people mean when they talk of "salvation") : "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned:but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." ~ John 3:14-18
    Also, John 3:36 says "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
    Again, believe is the key word in connection with eternal life. You will not find any promises of eternal life to the one that follows Jesus.
    "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." ~ John 5:24
    "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." ~ John 6:47
    So, hopefully you can see that eternal life is given to whoever believes and not whoever follows.
    Many people can see that belief is necessary, but they don't "believe" that it is enough. In other words, they don't "believe" Jesus promise is enough for them to receive eternal life. So, they will load the term "believe" with all sorts of meaning that is not designed to carry. Kyle is no different. Again on page 32 of "Not a Fan" he says "We tend to define belief as the acceptance of something as real or true. But biblical belief is more than just an intellectual acceptance or a heartfelt acknowledgement; it is a commitment to follow." And also on page 32 he reinforces this with "To truly believe is to follow."
    When Jesus was speaking about false prophets he said they would look like sheep, not Anton LaVey. Remember, Satan is very subtle. He is a master at twisting the scriptures.

      You bring up a very good point in that the bible clearly says to believe and you shall be saved, however in my opinion if one truly believes then they will follow, if you really believe in your heart that Jesus is lord and he died for our sins and rose again, then following him should be our desire.

      @nellyson9582 Před 8 lety +3

      If you truly believe you will follow, that like someone saying i believe in gravity and then acting like they think they can fly. If you believe you will follow not following is a sign of disbelief or ignorance

    • @whydoyouwantmetocrea
      @whydoyouwantmetocrea Před 8 lety

      How does "truly believe" differ from just plain old "believe" without any qualifiers?

    • @nellyson9582
      @nellyson9582 Před 8 lety

      RaiderSix if you believe you will have evidence of it for James says show your faith(belief) without works(evidence) and il show you my faith with works. YOU ARE NOT saved by works but when someone truly gets saved The Holy Spirit comes into them and changes their nature from that of sin to that of God, therefore if someone where to look at your life before you were saved and after and the only difference they can see now is that you go to church, read the word from time to time and pray but there was no change in character then you where never truly saved. Thats like telling someone your a doctor and they go to you for surgery and you dont know what your doing, no one would believe your a doctor because they cant see the evidence of it. Before i was saved i did drugs, swore, hated, dishonored authority, etc etc but after my life changed and a change in character took place. and if someone were took look at my life before and after they would see the evidence

      "Believe" in the Bible means more than just to think that something is real. Satan "believes" in Jesus, but does that mean he will go to heaven? No! Rather, belief alone is like faith along. It must be accompanied by actions, by FOLLOWING Jesus.

    -About some twenty years ago this was my family and I, only we were all gathered the waiting room and the one in the hospital bed, declared brain dead by a sudden aneurysm was my only thirty something sister-in-law, strangely whose mom had suffered an alike attack around the same age and had not survived it. So here we all where, hearts sunken into sour bellies of unimaginable fright and regret and I, the known believer, prayer between both families. Soon in the middle of that waiting room, I gathered all hands together and I prayed a prayer like never before, I explained to God how it is her, my sister's blood was broken. You know, like the woman with the issue of blood crying along a vast, vast crowd if only she could touch but the hem of his garment, she know she would be made whole, thus awarded according to her faith.

Now here we are some twenty years later, I wish I could tell you she is but she is not a follower, she's an American, so it's literally impossible. Even though without Christ as Lord, if she'd died that day or any d-day now, doing the great white throne judgment she would've been left with millions to billions of others explaining, why they're fans of knowing him, just fun of following him, be aware as God, Himself, Apb, The RAM, see even more here, elenintime.blogspot.com/2017/12/someone-just-asked-me-why-was-it-jesus.html
