Somebody will always nitpick. The bottom line is that the M2 (all variants), are awesome sport cars and most people will be very happy to have one.

You can code the locks to work differently in 5 minutes.
Mechanical seats sit lower and are much lighter overall.
M Performance suspension kit is a great OEM upgrade for much better damping.
Electric boot would add weight and kinda detracts from what the car tries to be.
Maybe a comparison between an OG M2 and Comp is in order? 🙂 Id be happy to offer my M2C for a test

Just btw the locking system that only opens one door when unlocking the car, it’s a safety feature and on top of that it can be turned off in the car settings

Owned mine for 5 years also in manual.
Totally agree its a lot of fun, it has a brutish character.
Pretty sure the locking can be changed in the idrive settings.
I also agree on the electric seats being to high, manual seats go lower.
Upgraded suspension is a must for uk roads, I’ve got the ast 5100 fitted and it’s transformed the composure driving fast on bumpy roads.

Good review 👍🏼 I think a lot of people forget that this is a sports car and the fact that you have two useable rear seats and a reasonable boot is already worth +2 points. The LCI freshens the up the M2 and is the best pick of the bunch in my biased opinion. M2 Comp’s S55 just doesn’t have the tone the N55 does but the extra hp is a plus, apart from that and the seats; the chassis and suspension are identical to the LCI which is also slightly lighter 👍🏼
Yes, yes and yes love this comment. It so refreshing to hear someone else with the same views as us. The fact you get those seats and boot space is massive it makes it such a great option over other cars. And totally agree with you about the tone of the n55 too. We have an episode coming out soon comparing it to a m2 comp Dinan which is the only one in Europe. So hopefully it will be of interest to you. owned mine for 1 year, and the one thing I did not notice during my research, is pre competition models do not have front parking sensors, which is kind of a bummer!

Original M2 is very much a special little car particularly the LCI version. Quite rare too because it was quickly overshadowed the same year by the Competition.

Yes the long beech blue definitely seems the most popular opinion. Yes I see these will hold value for sure and the manual ones are pretty rare too. A future class too for sure 🤗
You can change the settings in idrive to unlock passenger door on unlock. Its really not rocket science

No, no, no. The philosophy is that you have to press twice in case the first is an accidental push. Cannot agree there's anything wrong with the seat height. It's the suspension I expect from a car like this. Interior? Who looks inside when you're driving one of these? It's magic. Huge fun just to be in even if you're not going supersonic.

@@CarChatTV had my M2 OG LCi for just over a year now 😀 Long Beach Blue like this one! Seating position is a bit high (especially with sunroof specced) however I did drive another m2 the other day with the M Performance seats, and they sit a lot lower, so may invest in a pair of them!

What would you say is to much mileage?
Hey thanks for the comment Great question🤗 honestly it all depends on the car you are buying and if it has been looked after at regular service intervals. But you can get some good cars between 100k - 150k miles. Just have to try the car out and see what you think. But there is a stigma that when a car goes over 100k miles it’s no good and that just isn’t the case.
@@CarChatTV im currently buying a Well looked after m2 from 2016 that has run 58000 miles. And it costs 2/3 of all the other m2’s with same specs and from 2016 But lovwer miles. U Think half the mileage is worth 1/3 of the Cars cost?

M2 is most fun car....not luxurious but just pure joy!

Hey mark thanks for the comment🤗. Yes we agree. With all the tech available these days. Bmw Should just have them on all m cars. Such a small thing to have for such a great impact when manoeuvring.

Great insights, BMWs are cool but the interior lets it down. See you are a die hard Audi fan. Also never heard a BMW or any car compared to an aggressive bull dog 😂

@@CarChatTV I had a mineral grey one. Was gonna get the long beach blue but I had to have this one as it had only 5000 miles on it and is like a brand new car. Also I couldn’t find a manual blue m2, a lot of them are dct. I was in a rush to get one but I think I got lucky with such a low miler

Snap up one now ... are you mad 😂 2022 the m2gets the s58 engine the comp is already arguably the better car and they will depreciate, covid has frozen prices for the consumer but for people in retail are buying the stock dirt cheap and flogging it as if theirs no depreciation on the model year 😂 the bubble will burst

@Bp Depu so you think they will appreciate in value you think new models coming out won’t lower the price ... used cars haven’t been bought at auctions dirt cheap and the forecourts aren’t selling them at a higher premium ? Used cars haven’t seen a 7 percent increase in price ? The bubble won’t burst and we will constantly be told that it’s because of supply and demand ( covid halted production ) so the older models are selling as the same price as the new models look at a 2018 m2 and look at a 2017 it’s plain as day to see 😂 the comp isn’t the better car so this will be more sought after in your opinion with the n55 rather than the s55 engine and other improvements like the m seats etc ? They won’t decrease in price when the new model comes out next year with the s58 in it ? Your valid to have an opinion but if you can’t comprehend what I’m saying that’s on you 👍 I drive a Volvo v70 car chat looking for a second car for the weekend but still need at least 4 seats and want it to be good on handling I sold my golf gti and loved it but needed something bigger but now in a position to buy another car as well as keep the practical one and I do think the m2 range is cracking looking especially in long beach blue white is second black third and grey 4th IMO 😂
@Bp Depu tbf every review has said the comp is better and it’s a bargain at 39k when the og m2 wants 32k for it but once the m2 comes out with the s58 I reckon the bubble will burst, if you go off depreciation of the m4 the og m2 should be 25k or so but it’s not and the question then becomes why not just get the m4, the car prices 99 percent of the time drop once the new model comes out the m2 will be no different now if you add Porsche into that list the percent drops dramatically they are a rule to them selves 😂, I’m really looking forward to the s58 in the m2 and I think it will knock the socks off the way way way overpriced m2cs, I don’t know what the used prices are playin* at with the m2 the years offer no difference in price but as I say I think the bubble will burst, and you bought a cracking looking car what colour did you get ?
@Bp Depu I disagree when you drive both back to back their is a difference ...not all are in on the scam 😂 the m2 doesn’t have the big grills like the new m3 and m4 by all accounts time will tell but all spy photos suggest otherwise, as far as I’m aware the size won’t change in the m2 range even with the s58 in but no one will truly know till released, weight is nor here or there they’re not lightweight it’s nearly as heavy as the larger m3 theirs not much in it 😂 1622kg for the m3 og m2 1547kg m2 comp 1625kg ... but again the new one who knows but the m2 can never be classed as lightweight, I think it will blow the socks off the m2cs as I say with its s58 that is a truly special engine 2jz will have nothing on that thing 😂 too early to call reliability but so far so good I’m certainly looking forward to see what it brings to the table and as I say I think it will burst the price bubble of the m2 all new models tend to but the comp didn’t hit it as hard as I expected so let’s see if the s58 does 😂 the reason why I believe it kept its value more than others Is because people thought it would be a one off the m2 is here to stay it will be as prominent as any other m car line its going no where
@Bp Depu never been about straight line performance ... m2 comp feels less skittish feels more compliant over bumps go drive one then get back to me, but I honestly think you would be mad to pick one up now rather than wait for the new model comes out as I say, I think it’s a cracking looking car if the render and spy shots are true so I don’t think it will increase the price of the existing models as I say
