One of my all-time favorite cars that I have driven and may eventually get one as my daily. For reference, my fun car is an S2000.
Congratulations 🍾 I have a M235 I xdrive convertible with stage 2 Dinan tune 444 torque and 390 hp with the N55 engine and I love it , great cars pulls so hard
Great content here Will, I get the feeling Chris is taking a little time to adjust but clearly loving the experience. I found the commentary during the drive very insightful.
Let's face it, bottom line, it's a terrific looking car, and those wheels!

The MPE is a full catback not just the back box. Had my button rewired into the compartment next to the steering wheel for ease. Also need to put into MDM/traction mode to get the most out of the MPE
I have just gone from a 2017 M140i to a 2016 66 plate OG M2.
Initial impressions : the B58 and ZF8 are a better engine/box than the N55/DCT, although to be fair my M140i was running 455bhp/634nm and was an absolute beast. The iDrive system in the M2 is the older version, so I felt it was a backwards step.
But .. The suspension was instantly noticeable, it is MUCH better in the M2, and the car feels planted. It looks amazing compared to a hatch !!!
I went from an auto m140 to a manual og m2, id spent thousands on the 140 and I can say the m2 out the box was noticeably better and more special than the 140. It’s defo an M car. In love with my LBB m2, I almost feel bad for the 140 because I thought I’d miss it more. I do miss the zf8 speed in traffic but for driving pleasure when pushing on you cannot beat a manual

M 2 😂 I kept mine stock for about a week, but I also went with Dinan for a stage 1 tune (343/400)
I don’t have the red button in the boot for my MPE I , I thought that only appeared on later LCI models

Do love the look of an OG in LLB, more so with the stance and carbon. Went through a similar change but from a 2015 M135i to a 2019 M2C and your friend is right, you know as soon as you pull away that it’s a different beast! Cheers, Kevin.

Can’t beat an OG M2 for the money, biased of course.
Subjective of course but I’d have to remove that splitter and get the OEM M2 Competition black badge spaced correctly and it’ll be OEM+
Yea the rear badge does need sorting… on the to do list.

The m2 has a slightly bigger turbo than regular ewg n55, better cooling and s55 oil system, better forged internals.
Watch the hunter Hoffman video on bypassing the switch as it will get boring having to press the button each time because let’s face it you will always want the valves open. 😉

As a tuned M240i owner I'd love an M2C but I don't think I'd go for an OG, while everything is an upgrade I'd feel like the engine is a step back, maybe if I owned an M235i with the N55 I'd feel differently about it
OG is more fun than the S55
@qna95B agree, and a pure Turbo for about $1000 and you can make the same power as the M2c without the extra cost of 15 to 20k

Just got a 2017 M2 LCI..
Comparing it to my E39 M5 ..
The M5 just gets left in the garage, unfortunately.

M5 for wafting and m2 for yob driving - both great tho!
Torque is low down, she'll rev out better with a turbo inlet installed

Big drop in second hand m2 prices with the newer model coming out.
Probably why so many owners are now selling (+fuel prices are a joke)
I don't think there will be that much of a drop, assuming the new ones are gonna be priced up due to inflation and have limited availability for at least the first year. 70-75k USD MSRP at least.
@@BrianJohnson-kh7mghaven't dropped much because not everyone has 75 to 90k to buy a new M2
