I remember playing this game and The Shadows of Luclin was released. The graphics overhaul was insane during that time, it's just fun to see how the game is doing these days, keep up the great content.

this seems to have been nerfed into the ground. went in with a lvl 68 bst to molo a while. mobs conned blue (63-64) and only gave 0.081 % exp.
It has been nerfed and when FTE comes around to being a thing, it will kill off PLing.
Tried this as of 2024. They definitely nerfed it again. Does not work. Went in the exact way he did. Had the PLee at 30. Mobs were yellow and red like in the video. With lesson on he was only getting 2% per kill. Much less than just killing fast with a merc in Blightfire with a DS on him. With DS in Blightfire AND a merc he was getting 15-20% per kill. Note that we did it EXACTLY like in the video. He did NOT have a merc out in the Hatchery. He zoned in first. We was not grouped. So as of 2024 this no longer works. If someone knows of a different way please let me know. He is 31 as of this post.
Use "Oil of Fennin Ro" - a clicky PB AOE pot if you wanna level a class that doesn't have any AOE options
If your Power Leveler is a class capable of counter attacking the enemy (like a shadow knight for instance) make sure you wear something like a stein in your primary so you are incapable of accidentally retaliating and killing enemies

Interesting. Have to check this place out. 🙂 Another great place to power level around lvl 25-35 ish is Griegs End. Last time I was there lvling a Shaman I used a Warrior with a Bard for speed and pulled up to 30 mobs back to my Mage and Shaman. Warrior (with Damage Shield) held all aggro until Cleric merc (also with damage shield) began to heal. Then Cleric got all aggro. Which was great becuase the mobs had a harder time hitting my Warrior = Less dmg from Damage Shield. Actually, the merc with DS accelerated the dmg so much the mobs almost died before my Shaman had hit them with damage. If that happens, just remove the damage shield from the dmg soakers to save time and deal more dmg. Then reapply Damage Shield when you either are done with dmg tagging, Merc gets low on mana or if mobs gets to hungry for the low lvl chr so I have to taunt them off.
They nerfed this power leveling instance so it only gives a tiny amount of exp. :(
Another great way to power lvl is to use the druid aa wrath of the wild cast it on your low level toon and it will 1 hit mobs up to about lvl 60 make sure your toon does dmg to the mob before it dies or else you won't get any xp
Also I like to use shared form of the great wolf(lvl 45 druid spell) because your toon will get illusion benefit delta witch increases movement by up to 60% and attack power by up to 51%
Also I was wondering what lvl does this mission slow down at?
It slows down around level 70

I remember my friend with a 50 Druid power leveling my Monk to 40 in Sol A/B … (pre-kunark on Rathe) power leveling has come a long way :)
Druids are great at power levelling melee class with damage shield, regen, heal, and damages
So you can't do this anymore can you? Because of the level difference I'm not sure it will let you group with a shared task as a 29 with an 85. As of now at least
DPG has been nerfing PL and with FTE coming out, it will kill off just about all forms of efficient PLing.

Checked it today. Level 63 necro. Made .2% a kill on yellows. Except for raising melee skills not worth it.
They keep nerfing it. So sad...
This would be much much easier for you if you just add a bard same lvl as the toon you are power leveling, just lvl the bard at the same time and use AE DPS song from lvl 1 or 2
So I’ve become bored of the newer MMOs and am thinking of coming back to EQ. I don’t want to put for a heroic toon and the leveling seems daunting. I’m trying to figure what’s the point of playing. It’s going to take me months to get max level and all the AAs I’d need. What’s end game like and is soloing even possible end game? EQ isn’t the same game I remember and am
Wondering if I’m going to burn out with the leveling grind. Is it going to be too much to try and figure out where to go and how to gear? I want to get back into EQ but isn’t max level 120+ now?? Thanks
Leveling can be daunting on some servers, but if you are a solo player, the test server is your best bet. It is free to play and you get all access with the highest exp rate of all servers. You could get a J1 healer merc and molo a SK all the way up to 85+ with defiant gear. At 85 you get the J5 merc and you keep on plowing through stuff. As for max level 110, those last 10 levels will be hard and maybe not possible to solo unless you have a group. Remember, this is only possible on the test server or a live server with gold membership.
The best way to PL is to use a high level bard and a class with a weak PB AOE like a cleric. Pull the whole Zone with the bard and generate aggro with a non damaging AOE song like a slow. Cast a a weak PB AOE with the PLee or support character to do a point of damage on the train. Then max out the Bard's Damage Shields and watch the levels roll in.

@@MikeGameOver You can buy oil of fennin ro which is a consumable/clicky pot that casts a PB AOE (dude in nagafen's lair sells them) - now u can PL any class
I'm doing this with a mage as the low lvl. Worked fine until about 60 now for some reason I can't keep the aggro on the bard and the mage dies every time i AOE. HELP lol.
did anyone notice they nerfed the exp?

Hi there, I'm using a level 100 druid for this video. In the old days Defiant gear used to drop, but not anymore.
I just started playing and wanted to know does this power leveling technique still work and can I start with a level one character if I zone in with a level one with the mobs be around that level
I think level 1 toons can enter as long as a higher level toon request the task.
Also if your looking to power level a toon use a shadow knight for the toon that is pulling the mobs also your toon that is getting power leveled if it can aoe then Your in like Flynn. Also if this is your first toon ever,I would not recommend that you power level. We already have too many people that do that and now we have a million level 115’s that don’t know how to play their toons so you end up with a really crappy toon that when known how to play right can be a pretty powerful character just power level with responsibility:)
Oh and when you can go to the mech fort then that’s where u should go and pull the gnomes on the second and third floor all the way to the second floor elevators and put them in the corner then have other toons aoe or cycle targets oh and buy a lot of xp pots too

It's not an exploit (at least not in the way you're thinking). This method has existed since Gates of Discord. Forgotten Halls worked the exact same way. The difference is, the DZ system was expanded to the entire game so lightly populated zones like Hatching a Plan become even more lucrative for this.

This is a really great method! Thanks for sharing. I do have a question about classes. I see you have your mage dd each mob down the list to generate aggro before kicking on the high damage shield spells and wiping the mobs out. I used a paladin and had to do the same thing using that one paladin dd spell flame of light, which you get at 49*ish. How would you Powerlevel up a melee character such as a monk/rogue/zerk who can not dd? Or what method do you do the dmg on the mobs without getting aggro?
for Melee classes, most of them can pick up the Throw Stone skill at level 1. That combat ability is never resisted and always does 1pt damage, but the range is close. Try and get the melee class so it's at maximum range for throw stong. A little slower, but works well :)

A lot depends on what level your're doing it at. Early levels used to be very good whereas the high levels (55-70) were very slot. What level are you doing it at?

How are dark blues giving so much xp? This feels super cheap to me.
Did they nerf this? Trying this with my son and he's only getting 2% a kill.
It depends on what level you're doing it at. At level 70 the exp drops off a lot. Also, the first toon to zone in sets the level of mob, so make sure the first toon is higher level be enough.
@@doctornachoz8099 Yeah, just did some experimenting with another veteran of this method. They definitely seem to have nerfed it within the last two weeks.
That's too bad. It used to be so nice when open world loot dropped in there! I use MQ2 to level up my toons these days.
nerfed, 0.8% exp per mob for lv45 solo pal.
Took me forever to get level 10, the zones are too confusing
Did they change it so now Damage Shields no longer give XP? Back when I did it...you could have the lower level character cast the DS and it worked so much easier
The lower level DS will work, but the higher level DS does more damage and makes the kills go by faster.
We used to use a low level AoE DD potion/spell to hit the mobs and then have the person that was doing the pwrlvl cast their highest DS to kill the mobs. We never did the single target hits
Where should a level 85 mage go solo level Feerot the dream is okay but some enemies there are nasty
The house of Thule courtyard is the best because the zone out is close and the visibility is perfect compared to the Feerrott.

Any good drops in there ?
There use to be open world drops like defiant, but they nerfed it.
You get a familiar and with a cash shop purchase it can be translated to a mount.
In the old days you could kill a mob and keep nuking it's corpse to lvl up skills, not sure if it works now a days
I doesn't work anymore, but I wish it did work like that :)
Back in my day, I could play all day long and end up with less xp than I started.

Until which level is it viable?
The mobs scale up to level 92, so at 100 they're light blue. The problem is, at that level they might be a bit too much for a druid so you might need an SK or other class to do the powerleveling if you don't have a 105+ toon.

you're right. I have the sounds set at 10-15% and it can be super loud in some places like unrest.
I actually LIKE the sounds. Very nostalgic.
Honestly playing this way seems incredibly boring.
The low levels are always boring, especially on Live servers where everyone's either max level already, or play with friends who help powerlevel them to a point where they can group.
Back in the day, when new people were always joining and old players were starting new characters, you could always find someone to play with; these days, you're pretty much on your own until the 100+ Level, unless you do something like start a Guild with the express purpose of doing things "the old-fashioned way." Since most of us are old and have families now, with limited play time, I doubt you'd be recruiting many to such a venture.
