Glad to see La Monf back and in the entry list for Indian Wells. We gotta see at least one more run from the Frenchman! Hoping Carlos is somewhere near his name in the draw too cause I want to see that obscene level of entertainment and shotmaking again between the veteran and the young gun particularly before monfils calls it quits, whenever that may be
He should play qualifying players or outside top 100..He shouldn't face upcoming GOAT kid carlos..Carlos want to face rublev, fritz and kyrgios..
La Monf is back at Indian Wells 😎
He will be exited in opening round
lets go
Nobody cares
@@HannaMontana-yw6xjlet's go to home now 😂
Monfils is definitely one of the best athletic talents that has ever played the game
1:38 okay she enjoyed that too much
So happy to see Gaël being back. He must be 100 % ready if he choses IW to be back.
Too bad you don't have the rights for the most epic one: 2010 Davis Cup Final, Serbia-France, 2-1 for France, Djokovic-Monfils in Belgrade.
Djokovic dominating (as always) 2 sets up, 3 all in the third. Break point for France. Hell of a rally, concluded by a MISSILE Forehand down the line on the angle by La Monf. Djokovic explodes and destroys his racket in anger.
I will never forget this one. Definitely THE BEST among them all.
1:48. First time I watched Monfils play. Must have been 2006 in Rome. Despite losing, I became a fan
Win or lose, La Monf never fails to entertain
Monfils will always be one of my favourite players of all time
He may not be among the best ever, but he has surely achieved something unique with his absolute entertaining style. People will still remember him, and for a reason.

Don't enjoy with friends and family 👍🙏☺️
Was looking for someone to comment about this lol
Haha legend
There is tennis! Then there is Monfils flavored tennis. It’s on another level of spiciness
7:27 My favorite one haha
Simply just a entertaining player Monfils! Glad to see him back in action at Indian Wells! La Monf!!!!
There`s soooooo much talent needed to do this...
Yessir. Lets go Monfils
The Monfils vs Nadal at Monte Carlo was an absolute war. It showed two things :
1) Monfils can reach ridiculously high level of tennis
2) Even this level was not enough to beat the monster Nadal is on clay
When that elbow drops down you know you’re in trouble
So many from that Nadal Monte-Carlo match
Watching the insane power that Monfils has always made me scratch my head on why he only rarely used it and instead plays counter punch most of the time. I think he just doesn't care so much about success. Just do his own thing and have some fun. Otherwise he should have been a multi slam winner with his talent.
He's 0-17 against Djokovic and 15 (!) of those matches were played in Masters, Olympics or Slams. He's 2-14 against Nadal and 10 (!) of those matches came in Masters or Slams.
That 25 "big" tournaments ended by Nadal or Djokovic. Add that 9 of 10 losses to Federer came in big tournaments, and you've got 34 major title opportunities ended to the Big 3. That accounts for a full 10% of his total ATP losses all-time. Crazy.
He was a victim of his era, not some lack of competitiveness. You don't get to where Monfils is at without caring about success. Sure, he's insanely talented, and appears to have underachieved, but he really just had to face one of the Big 3 by the time he hit the QF any any significant tournament.
@@mskcrc it's even 18-0 for Djokovic against Monfils :S nobody else lost 18 matches in a row like that, few players have 0-17 against Big 3 like Ferrer-Federer, and 0-17 for Gasquet-Nadal.
Monfils was probably the less fit in terms of stamina among the Top 100, sometimes he would be tired after 1h30 in a match, and yes, it was very frustrating because his forehand was great and backhand okay, hisnoverall game is good, but he was just oushing the ball as if he was boref to hit it for real, and sometimes, once every sets he would strike Monster forehands, he never was consistent for hitting strong forehand then it was a massive weapons, never understood what came in his mind then he had potential.
Still, would never have been a multi slam winner, Djokovic Nadal and Murray were too good for him so whenever one would stood against him, it would be over for sure.
@@mskcrc Disagree somewhat. He had the talent and ability to win slams in big three era. Murray and a few others did it, beating big three names in finals of slams etc. Lovely player to watch but definitely lacked a little focus.
You know you are fucked when you see Monfils grunting
How can you not have the one against djokovic where the french commentators go wild
Pleas one more crazy match with trick shots, underarm serves and dance moves. Then he can retire.
A lot of forehand winner, but I think Monfils has the best footwork and running speed on court.
@@Laland_1196 you are clearly a hater. You can't stop contradicting people who are lifting him up. I hope you find joy in your heart.
Monfils had the potential to win some GS because he can be a very letal and dangerous offensive player.
The thing is that he don't produce that often and he spent all his career being defensive far from the base line, playing rallies. He only make some big shot sometimes to make the show. He's an entertaining player for highlight, but not much consistent and many time injured... too bad.
These are good but some of his best forehands are where he's jumping in the air and hitting flat down into the court. In fact this one match alone has some severe return-of-serve and other winners that hit so hard that the opponent doesn't even have a chance to react. czcams.com/video/S9yj3MDzxfo/video.html
Monflis vs Delpo???
Forehand wins
Its sad to see gael had some pretty amazing play against novak yet he has not able to go past him for 18 times straight
50% of these were against Nadal on clay
Missing the most important, the classic "Boom!" against Djokovic....
czcams.com/video/FCI8LxstJnQ/video.html
Why did Nadal give Monfils some salty handshakes?
He’s good but he isn’t good. He is such a conundrum.
I don't think delpo's forehand was bigger than that
except for del potro and ganzalez, he can hit the fastest forehand on the tour, yet he plays defensive 90% of the time. he pretty much wasted his potential
Monfils retired?
returned
@@fallendevonish1869he returned just to be defeated in opening rounds and will put svitolina drama for losing
A shame Monclown is a pusher though lol
