Johansson in AO 2005 hit 51 aces against Agassi, one of the best returners in tennis history.
Compared to Novak, Agassi's return skills are ordinary at best. Novak is hands down the greatest returner in history.
@@user-ni8rl6pf4q
Why do you want to compare right away? In terms of numbers and stats, Novak has a better return. However, Agassi is also a great player with the highest return of all time. Look at the match against Sampras. Is it normal to return a pistol serve with a pistol?
Agassi was so good on the returns because he would commit completely to one side or the other. He made a decision to hit a return or get aced. Against Johannson he was constantly caught leaning the wrong way. Why did he keep doing it? He was playing to get 1 break a set. He won the match by the way even if he got aced more times than anyone in history.
New balls dry air and perfectly in the sweet spot. The fact that Groth may have been the most muscular guy of all the players shown leads me to believe he may have been capable of exceeding 160. I watched him at a Challenger in heavy windy condition and he was consistent at 135 when no other pros were coming close to 130. There were players in the draw that have reached top 20. Some with big serves.
almost every big server made a lot of aces agains Agassi
Most of the tennis fans are using kilometers
Yes, please use the unit km/h so that we can understand what speeds you're talking about.
Normal people are using kilometers
Ah.... battery. -- Trevor Noah
Most people on CZcams are American so it makes sense to use MPH
For what it's worth, Ben Shelton hit a 149 mph serve at the US open last year
He touched 150 at IW this yese
He has a 150 serve
I like the rigorous approach here in this video.
Thank you for this an amazing video! 👍
thanks for the vid bro!
Great list!
Lopez has my favorite serve of all time. Such an effortless, powerful motion.
"HurKACKS" 😅
That Raonic sound is music to my ears. Might put it as my phone ring
From your list I agree the Hurkacz belongs there .. I was surprise that Kyrgios didn't make it.
Kyrgios is perhaps the best server of all time, up there with isner, Roddick and Sampras. Not for his speed tho (which is still extremely fast). It's because he can serve with pinpoint accuracy, and because his serve has no giveaways, you don't know where he's serving until he's hit the ball
Shelton?
Butch Walts back in the 1970s. I believe experts said 149. He used a standard size racket (Head Competition). Walts was really built. Much stronger than Isner. I suspect he could wack the ball harder than Isner, but the angle and bounce were not as extreme. Walt’s was not as tall as Isner.
Hubie for SURE could crack 150 mph.
Joachim Johansson definitely hit that serve with that speed! he was one of the best servers ever stepped on court!..just a reminder for all those youngsters who never seen him play..
Why do you use MPH instead of KPH ...
Because MPH stands for FREEDOOOOOOO🦅🇺🇸 🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅 RAHHHH 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅OOOOOOM
But I used both...
You did put up both, but saying "150mph or 242kmh" in the video would make it more enjoyable for the viewer. @@TennisticProductions
@@TennisticProductions you clearly didn't, hence the comment.
Most viewers understand km/h but not mph, which is an obsolete unit.
sam growth use to milk that worlds fastest serve for awhile, getting deals with kia from that broken speed gun, haha a true charlatan, thank you for not counting it!
Nope, saw him live and him serving at 260 khm is very believable, i saw him indoors in a challenger, when he serves flat the speed is incredible
@@-music2023 keep dreaming! he never was close to that speed again! its very well explained at the start of video
damn, it seems like the Davis Cup is really heatin' up players' serves :D
Exactly, the Isner serve isn't the fastest in my opinion, from eye test, Groth 's serve, Copil and Roddick lool the fastest.
Roscoe Tanner in the late 70s …
246 km/h
Pound for pound (or more specifically, inch for inch), the best servers are easily Roddick, Sampras, and Federer. Yes, some of the taller players can serve faster or hit more aces, but for their height, those 3 are the best of the best.
yes, but the title is the "Fastest" .. if you open this up with best servers - then a slew of players can be added to your list : McEnroe, Becker, Edberg, ... etc
ivanisevic better than roddick or federer.
@@georgegl3192one could also argue with lesser known : Sam Querrey - 8,729 career aces (Avg. 12.7 aces per match) .. I'm guessing you have to serve pretty fast to blow that many by them.
Good serving is all about changing speeds and spins, hitting your spots, and enough pace to make it all effective. Federer rarely went past 125mph, but he got a lot of free points off his very effective serve. He kept the returner off balance. And don't forget the 2nd serve which is just as important. Many top players just spin it in.
Isner's 2nd serve in some ways was more effective than his 1st. Biggest kick I have ever seen as at top height it was over your head.
But the video above is all about SPEED.
federers forehand and backhand made players take more risk on the return which made his serve look better than it was.
Johansson did a serve in 251 kmh,, i belive it was against australia in davis cup.. and more.. it was a second serve =)
I love how the fastest serves are always recorded on cctv cameras
Ben Shelton hit a 150 a few days ago
fake
use km/h PLEASE
I hate Rusedski, but his serve might actually be the fastest on this list. In the 90s they measured the speed as the ball approached the net rather than the immediate speed you get as the ball leaves the racket. That means if the serve was measured today, the radar would measure it at about 10 MPH faster than back then.
was rusedski on drugs at 2.37? He later had a doping ban
Has Shelton hit 150 yet? I’ve seen him hit 149 a few times
Shelton, Fils and FAA are my least favorite players
@@Srbenda126 no one asked but ok
00:46 bro how am i supposed to judge something i can't see lol
ben shelton is surely gonna be on this list soon
I also think so. He is a player to watch in the future
Ivanisevic n Philippoussis 🚀
What about zapata miralles's serve ? One of the greatest serves ive ever seen
Good joke
Your logic seems a bit shaky. For instance, if the Del Potro serve can be discarded because of faulty equipment, then the same could be true of any of the serves on the list. Maybe it was the best-hit serve of his career. Who can say?
Blablablabla
JANOWICZ MENTIONED
Sam groth was wrongly measured
Do you like Nagal or D.Novak more?
Please learn to say top player names. Please. :/
Ben Shelton???
Ben Shelton just hit 150mph at Indian Wells. 8th place for Ben??
first
I think they are all wrong
you dont hsve siht..
That may have been Roddick's *fastest* serve, but in my opinion it's not his most impressive. He hit one on a clay court (there's a video here somewhere of it) that had so much speed and spin that it embedded itself *in* the court! Talk about unreturnable!
I love the sarcasm... you are being sarcastic right?
@@flyingnematode Not sure about the sarcasm comment. He really did hit an unreturnable serve into a clay court. The ball got stuck in the clay. It did not bounce.
@@ronalddelrosario7405that was a fake video for an advertisement
It was a commercial
This scares me... people thinking it is possible to do it on a clay court... like do you believe the earth is flat because somebody made a video about it?
If Nadal have Andy Roddick serve he will win all the tournaments he plays 🎉🎉🎉
My child, do not forget that I am with you in all your difficulties! I will never leave you! Just stay by my side.. through prayer!!

He’s pretending Roscoe Tanner never existed.
Roscoe may have been capable of 150 with a modern racquet but he never played with one in his prime. He crushed the ball in his era but nothing like Roddick. I actually attended a serving clinic he hosted in the early 1980's. He had just switched to the midsize La Coq Sportif from his aluminum PDP. He was serving low 130's indoors.
