A lot of examples given of warriors refer to the Old Testament, and I'm yet to be convinced that Jesus offers a call to arms. I think he calls us to a great many other things, but I'm not at all sure that if he is truly listened to and followed that there's a blueprint for the kind of military power that us embodied by the Nations as they are today. But again, none of this is to denigrate the young men and women who dedicate themselves to this path.

I'm not meaning to question the faith of these soldiers at all, or their dedication and integrity - more the readiness to align military action with following Jesus. A lot of examples given of warriors refer to the Old Testament, and I'm yet to be convinced that Jesus offers a call to arms. I think he calls us to a great many other things, but I'm not at all sure that if he is truly listened to and followed that there's a blueprint for the kind of military power that us embodied by the Nations as they are today. But again, none of this is to denigrate the young men and women who dedicate themselves to this path.
