Can't quite get my head round all this stuff about the "sin" of having a night out or even enjoying a few beers. Back in the day, the rule of thumb was six miles apint. So a 90 mile week meant 15 pints were allowed! (Most serious runners did not go that far!) But in hard training a couple of pints a proper beer surely presents no problem? When tapering for a key race in summer, it's a different matter. But the night before the Olympic marathon in 1972 Frank Shorter had a few beers - and he won gold!
100% agree - and that’s what the series is all about to be honest! I know how much some of these guys/girls go out and have fun, but there’s a pressure to not show these side as it’s “unprofessional”.
Next episode we have a slightly older guest (Olympian) who should be able to offer great insight on how the culture around drinking has changed!
Thanks for watching 👊🏻
The series is going to the moon🚀🌕
That’s the plan!!
Yo great content really appreciate it 🎉
Thanks for watching!
Prefontaine, Ingebrigsten, Hassan
solid choices
Seb Coe, Steve Ovett, and Steve Cram. We are going for a 5 course meal in a Michelin star restaurant in London. As I live in Australia, you’ll have to pay for my flight over there…
Haha very nice!
Would love to run with you (fun and jokes. Always a great laugh on the pod as well). Philly Bowden (loving her energy) and Femke Bol (amazing and positive vibes ).
Brave choice!!
Great content 🎉
Thank you!!
Great series! I hope you will close the gap, if you don’t you definitely have a future in entertainment 😂 As for my night out, I would pick Haile Gebrselassie, Emil Zátopek and Phil Knight (even if he’s not strictly an athlete)
Hahah thank you!
i’m off to loughborough in a couple weeks - hopefully i get the same luck and fortune! 😂
i’ll be in the same accom block actually holy shit
good luck!!
Sending invites out to all athletes for “greatest night out” in Loughborough, it doesn’t get bigger!!
😂😂
Like. like like like......if everyone stopped using this word all the time -the video would be much easier to watch!
Thanks for the feedback - it can be harder than you think to present/interview naturally without a script… I’ll get better over time!
