    I know I don’t post often, but sometimes I just have to let you know you’re just the best tarot teacher. Seriously. I’ve been reading for five years and out of all the books, videos, and classes I’ve studied, I’ve learned the most from you. Thank you, Lisa!

      That means so much to me to hear, thank you for taking the time to share that with me!!! I have always loved teaching! I think it's because anytime I'm passionate about anything I just wanna yammer about it ALL THE TIME lol and teaching is a great outlet for that!

    💚💚💚 I don’t shuffle reversals in, so if I get one it’s relevant. It sometimes sends me to the guidebook. Loving his series!!!

    I use to read reversals when I started but I feel tarot is balanced as you mentioned. I now just take it in consideration when they appear in reverse.

    For me reversals are not the shadow, block, or opposite of the card. I more often than not use it as an indicator of internal energy versus external energy. I also don’t often use spreads, I shuffle ask my my question and read the jumpers. In that case having reversals makes it a lot easier to understand the energy being presented. With that said, some decks I don’t use reversals for a while or I may have then I reset them all upright until it feels like reversals make sense. Another oddity is even with reversals I may or may not take it in consideration sometimes the card doesn’t make sense in the way it is showing up and I go strictly on my intuition of the message 😊

    I am just so thankful that you have done these sessions for us. I am finding them so helpful and insightful. I hope you continue yo do mire. As a newbie this is the most helpful way for me to learn is to be able to see you work, explaining thought processes. I could watch you all day. Many many thanks for all you do. Xx

    I don't shuffle reversals in, but I read jumpers so the card jumps out that's the way I am reading it. I think the clearest reversal I had was someone asking about an ex returning. Page of Pentacles Reversed jumped out and Queen of Wands upright. It was clear to me it was a no. These 2 people were in very different places in their life and headed opposite directions. But it's interesting how we can see the movement of the cards change with reverals

    Makes sense to shuffle in reversals if you are doing a free form reading vs. a spread that has defined themes/positions.
    Food for thought
    Thanks

      Yes! I find if I want to be fast, am not using spread positions and/or just.... am in the mood? I may shuffle in reversals LOL but it's such an occasional thing for me!! :D

    I used to always have reversals shuffled in my decks but rarely anymore. I so appreciate when you stress to let your tarot practice evolve especially for those beginners out there that might be trying to fit their practice to another's. That's the best advice ever. Thanks for your great videos you share. ❤

      YES! Let's all evolve!! Gosh my reading style has evolved SO much over the years, I would have missed out on so much if I'd stuck to a formula or been too rigid!

    I don't like reading in reverse either, I don't like seeing the cards upside down. I tend to look at the upright and shadow within every card without them having to be in a reversed position. I do very much love a good spread though and usually that dictates it for me to begin with. You are such a fabulous teacher and reader! 😍

    I don't generally read Tarot with reversals. I need to see the images upright for my brain to process them and for the reading to flow. I do occasionally use reversals with Oracle cards, but sometimes they seem to visually block the flow of the reading as well. It really depends on the deck and guidebook for me.

    • @Lisa_Papez
      @Lisa_Papez  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah i'm not a fan of looking at them reversed - but don't mind in really simple decks - like RWS/RWS clones for example where i already know the image anyway (if that makes sense)

  • @tarotwithjae6426
    @tarotwithjae6426 Před 2 lety

    awesome as usual Lisa. well now, i do not read reversals, i think that they were more relevant when less decks were available. if you only have a RWS and say an Aquarian available...then you might want to increase the options with reversals. but in this time of tarot bounty...we seem to have plenty of upright images and options without reversals. Also...after a dark night of reading, i may put a book back into the shelf upside down, however, i do not read it that way in the cool light of day.

    Wow, I know it was supposed to be a made up reading for a made up person, but as soon as you said the name Andee, I got goosebumps! I just *knew* the reading was going to be for me, and it was very accurate!
    That being said, I pretty much read reversals similarly to you. I have a couple decks that I don't use reversals at all.

  • @caryj6562
    @caryj6562 Před 2 lety

    I haven't bothered with reversals, but now I've seen this I'm tempted to have one deck where I shuffle in reversals, just to use for quick fire readings.

    • @Lisa_Papez
      @Lisa_Papez  Před 2 lety +1

      Using reversals for speedy readings can definitely be useful! Great to do with a simple RWS or another deck where the imagery isn't adding much for you!

  • @ellenmariedrummondscurtis

    I'm usually pretty impressed with people that have mastered reversals. Someday I will learn them. I'm only 5 years into learning so it's a bit early for me. I think that it's not necessary but I think it adds a extra level into the reading.

    I appreciate your view that the deck of 78 is already balanced. I always felt torn about including reversals, like I ‘should’ do it, but it’s so overwhelming.
