@@saketnaik1 not necessarily true lol. There's people with brains out there that do their research before just buying into a company's selling tactics. I had airpods pros but i returned them after a week of ownership for the shure se425s. Airpods pro cost more than shure se425 and they're not even as close to comfortable as shure and no where near in sound quality either. Its just for the "apple" ecosystem people buy airpods n whatnot. Also a lot of people just go for the default choice lol, they don't wanna waste time doing research or buying something the rest of the world doesn't own.
I'm a drummer who uses in-ear-monitors and currently use a lower shure model. They sound great for what they are but have been wanting an upgrade. Would love to upgrade to these but why not just get custom molded at that price point? I bet they sound amazing!!! - I currently use the se215's But I love shure... Great unboxing!!! Got me thinking
william cooper Survey around for other in-ears on the market. For sound stage reproduction you should try the Shure SE 425. they are amazing for budget stage in-ears.
I guess you already figured out that you put them in the wrong way in your video....
Před 10 lety+4
william cooper For the price You can contact Shure and order ones with ear-buds molded especially to Your ears (of course that requires visiting a dedicated ENT specialist so he could make a cast of Your ears). That would do You much better than ordering stock ones
Lol.😁 your probably right! Lol the box itself might be be like 100.00. I mean I have a pair of klipsch s4 and they sound pretty dang! Good! Can't imagine what this must sound like!
You have no idea what you are writing about. Better try those in earphones yourself. But if it is still not convincing, than stick to your favorite way of sound listening and... feeling.
I had klipsch s4i ruggeds they were pretty good for the money but now I have Bose freestyles which are pretty good but I have shure se215s and I love them klipsch s4is are amazing
2007suprasport The same goes with me. That is why I had to choose something cheaper but the same brand model: Shure SE425. If you are lucky you can get them for $300.00. Ok I wasn't that lucky, I spent a bit more than $350.00 along with taxes.
All these people crying about $1000 for headphones. Why would someone buy a $100,000 S class Mercedes Benz when he can buy a $20,000 Honda Civic? Their sole purpose is to get someone from point A to point B. It's because they want the luxury, class, performance and power that they won't get with the Civic. Most people won't even care to know the difference between a $1000 headphone and a $20 one. I am not a professional musician or a sound engineer, but I do enjoy playing guitar and I seriously love music. I'm not trying to brag, but people who play musical instruments tend to listen to and understand music and appreciate its complexity more than your average joe who is more into your simple top 40 catchy poppy dance music (which is totally fine). Listening to music through high quality headphones greatly enhances my experience because it reproduces sounds more accurately and makes it easier to discern certain nuances in a recording that your average listener won't notice because he simply does not "know" what to look for. I will say as many others here that you will gain much more bang for your buck spending $100-$200 on other great headphones and basically receive 80% of the sound quality as you would get from the $1000 headphones. Let's not even get into how much people spend on Hi-Fi home sound systems (tens of thousands of dollars).
I didn't read the whole post but I got your Idea .. and your right .. but come on it's only sound! and these earphones aren't supposed to be the best ever .. they might be, I didn't tried them .. but even though, they won't be way better than 100$ earphones .. and comparing it with cars are completely unfair comparison.
Well, maybe if you had read my whole post you would have understood what my views on "only sounds" are. I agree these aren't for everyone, more for professionals or just people that enjoy high quality sound. People spend ridiculous amounts of money on things they WANT and not NEED , just like some people buy $10,000 cameras or thousands of dollars on a home theater system/setup. Why are cars not comparable? Please tell me how it is justified to spend 5 times more than you should on a fully functional car? These earphones are considered to be one of the best on the market today, even compared to bigger around the ear headphones like the Sennheiser HD800.
While i see how you make that comparison, it doesnt really sink in with me, yeah it may last a little longer, im not sure about the sound, thats more Subjective anyways, and i guess theyre luxurious, but so are my Audio technicas at home. but unlike a car a lot of those things are Subjective, usually a more expensive car is more durable, has better performance and more luxurious that SCALES with the price (i say usually because yeah) and those things you can prove to even someone who doesnt have it and car use it, because performance and durability is really a number either in the time it lasts or the MPG or Horsepower it gets, luxury is subjective however, ive seen some people who HATE the insides of the Mercedes cars lol, but yeah, i dunno, i just dont see why theyre $1000, i mean of COURSE better ones cost more, but $1000? I dont see why it needs to be THAT high, that is a bit too much fr me when at the end of the day its in ears and id rather have over ears, i dont know how it sounds before i buy it ( i HATE buying things to do with sound for that very reason ) and idek how long itll ACTUALLY last, probably rather long, id hope so anyways. idk, i guess im odd
and comment if you're broke and hate everyone that can afford them. Just joking. No but... really 1000 bucks. 10 bucks every week or 3 for new cheap earplugs. Damn you guys.
+Squeebie Balmy O lol okay. No I never watch those videos on CZcams so I didn't know that people did this. I clicked this one because it said a 1000 dollars and I thought it was some sort of joke. Which it apparently is not...
what does vacuum tubes have to do with anything if anything they prove my pont back then tubes where the best you could get but now days we dont use them we have all sorts of fancy stuff and in another 100 years the stuff we have today is going to be obsolete
For everyone in the comments saying, "my $150 earbuds are just as good as these, why would you ever buy these.." First off, let me point out that this is NOT A CONSUMER GRADE PRODUCT. These are made for PROFESSIONAL WORKING MUSICIANS, not everyday listening, even though they excel at that as well. Let me repeat, *these are marketed to musicians, not an average consumer. They were NOT made for listening from your iPhone, or even computer.* Most earbuds use a single driver, and MAYBE two, if they are really nice. These have four. Yes, four. Why? It is the exact same concept as having a sound system with different range speakers (tweeters, mains, subs ect.). Each driver has a frequency range, just like a full range speaker system. This means much more definition, and much more volume. This is especially important for on-stage musicians. Higher end iem's can have many more drivers, but _with an appropriate price._ 1964 Ears has a model with 18 drivers(per ear)... It sounds insane because it is. But if you are a professional musician, these are literally your lifeline, so spending $1000 is easily justifiable.
These are not a toy or even an accessory, they are a tool. Think about your favorite major music artists - do you think they're gonna spend $100 on a pair of earbuds to use onstage as monitors in front of thousands of people? Add a few zeros and you getting closer.
Ben H. These lean towards audiophiles more than it does music professionals. It has a lot of bass compared to the other shures which are more suited to professionals. Furthermore, they have 9 ohms which is ridiculously low and will sound phenomenal and loud in most devices even the iPod.
+THEDnARACER +JordMcFar Check out Westones. If you want take it up a notch and invest in a nice pair of inears, those are definitely the best option for the money. I have the UmPro 20's, and they are the most clear, pristine and articulate things that I have ever heard. Dual drivers make a huge difference over singles. I have a couple friends that went from dual-driver Sures to dual-driver Westones, and they say the difference is night and day. It just takes you to another world because its so detailed.
Jaiden Shutt Or someone selling it could clear the ecu codes and sell it to you and next day your new cars warning lights are lit up like a Christmas tree
I've owned these for a while now and they're simply amazing. They're kind of a good mix of everything in terms of sound.(with the blue filters on) the treble is crisp but also has airiness to it. The mids are extremely lush yet detailed, the bass is absolutely sublime ,very punchy and powerful but also not overpowering to the point where you get a headache because it's too "bassy" it's not just a lot of bass it's DEEP bass . The soundstage isn't the widest but great for in ears, separation is excellent and all instruments are imaged very "solidly" . In my opinion these are the most "energetic" earphones out there, the experience of listening to these is not the same as listening to standard earphones you can really tell Shure made absolutely no sacrifices whatsoever in order to create the best sound possible.these took 4 years of research and development to create.this is a really serious piece of audio hardware. Of course I can't hear the outside world at all when I have them on and they're extremely comfortable with the foam tips. Another thing I'd like to note is my pair that I had since 2013 slowly started to produce less bass after I improperly amped them(v20 was on high impedance mode and I think I popped the bass driver) so I sent them in to Shure even though the warranty was expired and they said it was $600 to repair so I told them to just send my broken pair since it was expensive... Next week a brand new pair arrived with NO charge. I recommend Shure products ,I've owned the SE215,SE535 and SE846 & have spent time with the SRH440s. Shure makes great quality products and they stand by them with great customer support.
The Diamond Games I'm sorry I don't fully understand your comment.. What is "youtubers do overwatch" and what does it have to do with the sound quality of CS:GO ?
Actual Earphone worth 50$ ... Cleaning cloth worth 100$ Small black case worth 200$ Adapter worth 250$ Filter worth 100$ Big black box worth 300$ ... Seriously??
You're wrong $20 to make all headphones and accessories you pay the extra $980 for the brand logo same like Gucci or loui vitton you're not paying $3,000 for a purse your paying $3,000 for the logo on the purse
I got a pair of these because of this review. They are no where near as revolutionary as he says. I'm extremely dissapointed and wish I could return them. The quality is comaprable to skull candies. No joke. Never again. I'm so angry. I feel like this guy was just trying to make people jealous because they are no where near as good as he made them seem.
well he said for people who are serious about music, an avg person will say they sound the same as any other earbuds but people with very specific hearing would love these earbuds.
I'll buy this one for music production. But I'd rather buy a $12 earphone for playing music with a bit rate of 200kbps. And like what RATEGAMER100 and Kdizzle206 said, buying this as an average person would be stupid.
Ultra_Killer275 I didnt say your lying its just that nobody gives a fuck and nobody asked, you saying I have 120 dollar earbuds is irrelevant to the OP
yes guys theses are expensive but the "my 10$ earbuds probably sound better" statement makes you look dumb. these aren't some random expensive ear phones, these are some serious IEMs, yes they probably cost under $100 to make but most things cost a lot less to make
+NonsensicalSpudz Yo unless you've personally tried them and but the back to back with other earphones, you needless to say are being very, very ignorant.
+Trix I know they aren't as good as these, but Shure SE 215's are much more affordable and offer the same fit and pretty damn good sound. Getting high and listening to them is greeeeeat
If I ever become a multi-billionaire i promise ill just hire my favourite artists to play for me and follow me everywhere, ill have a bus load of artists ready to play for me anytime i want. its my personal live artist iConcert thing. dont need to buy a single pair of earphones either lol
Its worth it if they enjoy it and justify the cost by their enjoyment. Personally, i hate going on vacations. But i dont question why people do it. If they enjoy spending hundreds to get away and enjoy something thats only very short lived then its worth it to that person. But i wont judge and say its stupid just because i wouldn't do it.
He spends 1000 $ on it because may its his hobby. Why do people buy themself expensive cars? Because its theie hobby. Why do people spent thousands of dollars on gaming pcs? Because gaming is their hobby. I hope you get what i mean.
John Cooper if you mean my comment, the only thing i wanted to say that is because everybody is bitching arround in the comments that these things cost 1000 $ :)
exactly, one of the only non stupid comments hre and he specifically states as well many people who buy it buy it to improve their own music, like people who make EDM who have to produce on the go and don't have their studio monitors there all the time.
I bought these in April last year and it has to be said that they are utterly perfect! Worth every penny. Great review. I laughed with joy when I first heard them too!
John McEwan A year Kate but whatever I don’t see a point in spending this much on universal in ears instead of custom molded. There’s some cool features on these but custom is the way to go for this price
@@mattlacroix5919 The sound is what makes them worth the money. If you aren't concerned with perfect reproduction, buy something else. Personally for stage use, I prefer the 535 since they sell for like $350 and on a noisy stage, all that extra clarity is going to be lost. These are really only for mixing as far as I can tell.
@@mattlacroix5919 Customs don't really sound better. More often, customs sound much worse (glares especially at JH audio and Noble) due to lack of competition in the IEM market. That said, I think there's better IEMs today at this price range. Hidition Viento, IER-M9, Andromeda are at this price range. If you want to take a step up and pay ~2 grand, there's always the Sony IER-Z1R and 64Audio U12t. Most customs in the market from my experience are pretty bad with sound quality relative to the universals at the price range: exception being getting a custom version of U12t and so on. Having stated that, Shure SE846 has really good bass sound (in the expense of all other frequencies). It's an enjoyable IEM for sure although I think it's quite an outdated IEM with better options like Moondrop Blessing 2 / Etymotic ER2SE / Etymotic ER4SR available at a much lower cost (though none of them have the nice bass of SE846).
2RosarioVampire it’s all about the sound you’re looking from from what ive heard. I just ordered some Custom JH audio Roxanne. I also play drums and I really wanna do custom because I can turn down the volume on the in ears and save hearing. And block out more sound. I also have really weird ears and can never seem to fit universals comfortably in my ears
@@mattlacroix5919 Ya. Sound preference plays a large factor for sure. Some people want neutral, others want V shaped, some W shape, some bloated bass, and so on. That said, to a certain degree, you can kind of rank which is "better" technical wise across the frequencies (and compare the accuracies in detailing). The truth is for the price you pay, there are better overall competing sound in the universal IEM market today. For instance, I think many audiophiles would rate Moondrop Blessing 2's sound quality above many four figure custom IEMs' sound qualities. However, like you stated, different IEMs have distinct sound signatures which might make or break: some want to forsake a bit of clarity in the frequency for a wider soundstage and so on. I'm just stating unlike half a decade ago when customs reigned the top scene, in today's market, many of the top IEMs are universals. There's just more money to be made on universals as more people are willing to throw four figures.
+Alex Padilla i have the sure se215 (the 100 dollar in-ears) and i have listened to them for over a year with my music all the way up i take care of mine and they still sound amazing
Not really lol. Audio has always been expensive, because the technology hasn't changed much since initial engineering. Good speakers from the 60's cost equivalently what good speakers do today. Audio unfortunately doesn't get much cheaper as it requires precision.
Was dancing on a streets when i got them for the first couple of months uncontrollably. So much emotions they managed to bring out, just by providing you the best sound i ever heard from headphones.
Buy Apple airpods, You get wireless pods, a case that can charge it and 4 hours of battery life and 24 hrs case charging, easy to connect and its 8 and a half times cheaper than these Shure earpods..
You're parents make less than $1000 in 2 months? that's pushing things a bit too deep, I work part time and I can make $1000 in 2 1/2 weeks. I think if you don't know exactly how much you're parents make if you have the time to make gaming video's because a 1000 dollars in 2 months is practically nothing if there also raising a kid.
Rathalos Actually they made (in the past) more. My dad had a PC service in the past, so then, money were not a problem. But now, he manage the PC for a company and do other things.. My mom job is a bit better. Anyways, in my country the income is low, but the prices are high.. Median income in my country is almost $500.. and the VAT is 24%. But we (my family) can handle this, we have cars, home (obviously), PCs for every member of family, phones etc. And, the gameplays, umm I don't really have time for that, I made them in free time and I monetize my videos, so I can buy some games on Steam sometimes lol.
in my country office job average secretary makes $1000 in 8month, but I'm buying this earphones I just need to make sure they worth it, music is my wife, my bff and so much more
Benny Christian I feel the same as you I am a music addict. The first time I ever heard an .FLAC file changed my whole life. I always knew that even 320kbps .mp3 could sound like crap and compressed in the high frequency range the most. Ever since that day I began archiving all my CD's and vinyls into digital lossless files. Will never look back again. Just FYI, the Shure SE846 is the best non-custom IEM on the market today. I'd tip my hat to JH Audio(Jerry Harvey) and Noble audio for having the best custom fit IEM. Look into those two companies before you make a purchase, however the Shure SE846 is one of the greatest out there.
b4ssfunk3d Oh, FLAC, good times! My dad had all his favorite songs in lossless format, or on minidisks (my dad still have an old Sony minidisc player) and when he played music it sounds great, you can hear every instrument and sound perfectly and clear. Good times when most people enjoyed music..
these are IEM's (in ear monitors) reason they are so expensive is because they are typically used in live performances, so the bands can actually hear what they are playing instead of the crowd. They don't have speakers in them, they have "drivers" and typically the price ranges from the amount of drivers in the headphones. this is actually considered to be the lower end IEM's, some easily range over $1.5k
Yeah, I wouldn’t call these lower end though. Just around average for what you would really want out of an IEM If you are into audio, they are typically used in live performance but a lot of guys (including me) just use them for casual listening. Some of us just want the best sound and don’t care about price.
The cool thing about these, is that they use balanced armature drivers, as opposed to dynamic drivers, which allow the maufacturers to put split systems into small, compact earpieces, improving the frequency response, and accuracy.
Only a grand? Pffft practically free...that's one night at a South Beach night club with very low end bottle service for my Dubai boys. Actually dear Mr. Shure can you please raise the price to $3k? I don't want some intern standing next to me with the same headphones asking me how I like my headphones. Also, please make these loud enough to hear over the blades of my new Sikorsky heli. Consider a version with platinum casing to match my platinum Royal Oak AP.
I had one of these experiences today when I opened my Noble Tridents ;), I honestly never expected to even spend $400 on a pair of iems, but here I am with them now lol.
@@fotusrebel bullshit, idiot. It is not about appreciate. Its about need and what's necessary.. You really so ignorant as to think people dont appreciate something expensive just because they dont buy it.. Why would the average person need buds that expensive.. They dont which is why they dont buy it. I have also used them and weren't impressed. My Bose had better volume and bass. It is also about sound suitability/preferences. You obviously don't appreciate the quality and ability of the less expensive high quality buds.
These aren't for listening to your tablet, or for plugging into your game controller. For those that don't know, these are personal in ear monitors for live musicians, mainly. I guess you " could" use the for everyday listening, but these are for music production, mainly.
As a musician I can tell you that these kind of ear monitors are not used live. We use full ear monitors that work as sound protection as well, and they are custom made to fit each ear specifically.
Currently looking for proper in ears for listening at work. I'd consider these if they weren't so expensive. The problem these days is people seem to want those damned Bluetooth pieces of crisps. They just don't care with their shitty Spotify and what not.
@@leoyu1070 they're good hd800 is a full size open back also good but different experience I do not own the hd800 but do the he 650s not bad for the price
I totally agree with you, I've used these earbuds twice in my life, both times were when I was playing drums at concerts. They are so useful when playing live, cancel out other noises, while bringing an even sound from yourself and the other instruments so everyone is in sync during the performance. And I still wish I could afford my own pair! WOW!
Good review. If people know the engineering and quality demands Shure puts into their products, you will know understand that you are not just buying the name. The pro audio scene isn’t very big. There are reasons why Shure is one of the top names.
I watched this video about 2 months ago and I instantly wanted these. I saved up until now so I could get them for Christmas. I just want to say that I am really disappointed with this review, you didn't point out any of the cons and you completely over exaggerated the pros. PROS: +They sound great, better than any other pair of headphones that I have previously owned (although that's not saying much since the only pair of headphones that I had owned are beats solo hd). But, they did not make me start laughing when I heard them. I also wouldn't say that they are "next level". +They are very well made, very solid feeling. +Lots of customization. The numerous ear tips are very nice. I haven't tried the filters so I won't comment on those. CONS: +Although these IEMs do have very nice bass, they are nowhere near the quality of a pair of headphones. +They are f***ing massive, they can't even properly fit in my ears (no I don't have small ears). CONTINUED…\/
… This is definitely their biggest CON, as I can't finish a song with out having to readjust them. They also star to irritate my ears within a hour of listen time. +$1000… Are you f***ing serious? You could get equal or greater sound quality for a $100 pair of headphones. To sum everything up, I would not recommend these earbuds. Spending $1000 on earbuds just so they have the same quality of a $100 pair of headphones doesn't make any sense, unless you absolutely need earbuds instead of headphones. Also, the size makes them close to unwearable, for me atleast. Definitely going to return these and get a different pair of headphones. STAY AWAY FROM SPONSORED REVIEWS!!! (LIKE THIS ONE I ASSUME (just listen to the way he talks about them))

+ThatGuyAaron My friend dick around with his, and messed up one of his filters. He got it replaced for free. He also figured out that after his warranty was up, it would cost like $5 a filter, which is cheap (my Savants are like $15 lol).
I've watched this video like 3 times since its been out but I come back to it every year because these headphones are still the leading in the industry... after 6 whole years.. HOW HAS AUDIO TECHNOLOGY NOT PROGRESSED THIS WHOLE TIME!?
a lot of top tier audio products that people use came out in the in the mid to late 1900s. Audio products dont really progress like a lot of other technology does. some of the best headphones and mics came out 30+ years ago
It's not tech. It's business models. Shure had first mover advantage and other companies know the sweet spot for their businesses isn't high end. Shure is in a nice niche.
Tomy Lim let me tell you why you are full of shit, first these earphones comes with 2 year warranty, so anything happens you get replacement, second anyone who buy these earphones they buy extended warranty & insurance on them because they know earphone can broke. So if you saying you bought Shure SE846 and they broke then you are piece of shit.
doesn't fit that grandpa in the Bahamas music he was listening to there does it, I still have more respect for him than linus, 1 bc he doesn't have that 2 earrings gay look linus does, 2 he doesn't have a whiney high pitched voice, and 3 he doesn't listen to and enjoy it as his music of choice and that is Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana, the cancerous Justin Beiber and last of all that terrible music linus has a favorite radio station on Pandora too, it's called radio disney -_- I'm a pc gamer and hardcore into building them too and I'm ashamed to have a cancer like linustechtips as a person in the same catagory.
Totally recommended..bought these a few days back..these are simply magical, just put these on...no need to connect the headphones to any source device, and you just think of a song and it start playing :) :) What a sound quality, although had to sell of my family and kidney but totally worth it.
+Pyro The Gladiator The point of having noise cancellation is to not turning the volume too high. better not having too high volume to prevent damage to the ears
True turning the earbud sound up will cancel sound, but will the sound stay good or will the music sound like symbols clashing in your ear, point is with the volume turned up on most ear buds they sound absolutely crap, if I had to guess that's not the case with these earbuds, probably why they cost a lot.
With the options today, buying this would be a waste. Unless you wanna flex. Otherwise, AirPods, Galaxy Buds, JBLs, Beats, or Senheisers would be better.
@@Rbl7132 how excactly? I'm just saying there are better options today. Plus a lot flagships not even having a headphone jack. But I respect your opinion on why why would you buy those earphones. How should I know, mabye you're a musician. To me, there are just way more options in 2019.
k03n yeh convenient option “wireless earphones” music through Bluetooth gets compressed even more and sounds worse the sound quality with apple EarPods or whatever is just not good no low bass or good frequency responses , he has bought these $1000 earphones so that he does get a good listening experience it will sound very good it’s like saying why buy a lambo when you can but a Tesla it’s stupid
you've never tried them, shut up. What's the best pair of headphones you've ever owned? There's a reason why they're praised by audiophiles all around the world, people who own hundreds of headphones and own headphones up to 2k dollars. Again, what's the best u tried? You prob don't even know how balanced armatures work
i dont even deal with headphones anymore, i have 2 m-audio bx8s which can hit 50hz with no db loss, down to 20hz and below at -8db, attached to a mackie eq and effect mixer
neaumusic A big reason WHY a lot of people can't tell the difference is BECAUSE of the audio equipment they're using. Your comment only shows your lack of knowledge. You're implying sound quality is dependent mostly on bitrate, and so ruled these headphones as unnecessary since you're implying anyone who can't tell the difference between different bitrates, also wouldn't be able to tell the difference between different sound signatures produced by different headphones and drivers, which is obviously stupid on your part. It doesn't matter how much of a difference u can perceive between bitrates, a good headphone produces audio better than a shitty one would, that's a no brainer. So even with the se846, listening to a low bitrate song, vs a shitty pair of headphones listening to a high bitrate song, you're saying the se846 would be useless????? That's hilarious, you are beyond stupid
TopeA8 i think i take a little offence from that, besides from the fact most of my hours are spent on CZcams, in may spare time i have done college, soon uni and working at high school but most of my time is on CZcams you should say, "why are *some* people......."
Ridheesh Must be. A 192 kbps MP3 will actually sound worse on these than other options. Because every noise within the file also get played out with detail.
Raylight The price isn't a joke considering the sound quality they provide. They are more like the Bugattis or Ferrari of the earphone world. We may not afford it but they are certainly enjoyable.
+Override Replaceable. Shure isn't dumb. If you are investing $1000 dollar in a "universal in ear" and not a "custom in ear" (usually much better sound isolation) ... then it's going to last longer. The chords on either side are replacable anytime anywhere and the chords are actually pretty cheap. And trust me, these chords are pretty damn impossible to rip apart in everyday usage. You literally have to intentionally get a scissor and start trying to cut it -.-
this is how i know youre too young to be on youtube. You didnt even pay attention to the video, or else you wouldve known that this product is quality and takes the necessary precautions to inspire confidence in its longevity
+Net and look at you. Someone who makes a comment criticizing something that he didnt even research about. Just dont type anymore. Youre making a fool of yourself
What about no? Earbuds are getting cheaper and production cost lower but theres no way you can lower the price of the earbuds down to thenprice of the cheapes iphone model in 3-5 years. Right?
That's not how audio products work. Even 10 years from now, those $1000 earbuds will still sound like $1000 earbuds and $20 earbuds will sound just as crappy as $20 earbuds from 10 years ago. There's a reason people buy speakers that cost thousands of dollars then hang on to them for many years. Because they still sound amazing over your average speaker no matter how old they get.
You have no clue as to how the pro and high-end audio industry works. Amplifiers, speakers, turntables, DACs and what not that cost 1000-20000$ 10-15 years ago, still do. This is very different to a processor or a smartphone. This thing serves one purpose, and therefore, development is much more difficult and expensive. You can't create add-ons or the like and just slap on a bigger price tag like you do with phones and computers. They contain few but expensive parts, that now, and in 10 years will be expensive to produce. Besides that, getting these parts to work in these environments are difficult. Granted, there might be an updated version, and you can get these as NOS sets for perhaps 600-650$, but to say that this is what will come with your iPhone in 3-5 years, is ridiculous. You're not an pro or high-end audio user, are you? By your logic, a set of Shure SE530's should be on the level of current OE supplied components. They are VERY far from it.
Have tried this earphone through a friend at college when I was back in Shanghai. At first, I just couldn't believe it when he said this thing cost about ¥6,000 yuan, like what on earth!! But the moment when you listened to it, it's just completely a whole new level!!! The impression of the experience is so strong, I still couldn't get around with it after SIX YEARS!!! Still saving for it...

I'm a drummer who uses in-ear-monitors and currently use a lower shure model. They sound great for what they are but have been wanting an upgrade.
Would love to upgrade to these but why not just get custom molded at that price point? I bet they sound amazing!!! - I currently use the se215's
But I love shure...
Great unboxing!!! Got me thinking
Test them with an A&K or the new Pono.
william cooper Survey around for other in-ears on the market. For sound stage reproduction you should try the Shure SE 425. they are amazing for budget stage in-ears.
I guess you already figured out that you put them in the wrong way in your video....
william cooper For the price You can contact Shure and order ones with ear-buds molded especially to Your ears (of course that requires visiting a dedicated ENT specialist so he could make a cast of Your ears). That would do You much better than ordering stock ones

The same goes with me.
Well said!
Oh man, some open minded, non-judgmental person speaking sense in the comment section? Impossibru

They were NOT made for listening from your iPhone, or even computer.*
Most earbuds use a single driver, and MAYBE two, if they are really nice.
Furthermore, they have 9 ohms which is ridiculously low and will sound phenomenal and loud in most devices even the iPod.
just my SE215s sound godly! I'd like to try these!
THEDnARACER Agreed, got my SE125s like 3 days ago, loving them.

WHO IS DA CAPTAIN OF THIS SHIP????
I bought these in April last year and it has to be said that they are utterly perfect! Worth every penny. Great review. I laughed with joy when I first heard them too!
John McEwan A year Kate but whatever
I don’t see a point in spending this much on universal in ears instead of custom molded.
I had the 500 dollar shure earphones, and they were great, but they broke after a year from normal use.

Not really lol. Audio has always been expensive, because the technology hasn't changed much since initial engineering. Good speakers from the 60's cost equivalently what good speakers do today. Audio unfortunately doesn't get much cheaper as it requires precision.
Yeah but in 2050 there are probably gonna be headphones that are way better than this but like a $100
Dat Boi I doubt it, but I suppose we can always hope!

Was dancing on a streets when i got them for the first couple of months uncontrollably. So much emotions they managed to bring out, just by providing you the best sound i ever heard from headphones.
The only thousand dollar earphones I'm buying is the one that untangles itself.
And sucks.
Or just get a 20$ case
Buy Apple airpods, You get wireless pods, a case that can charge it and 4 hours of battery life and 24 hrs case charging, easy to connect and its 8 and a half times cheaper than these Shure earpods..
Yup, and if you lose the airpods, you're lost.
These earphones cost almost my parents income for 2 months. Lol. Now I feel too cheap.
Shure, they're expensive.

these are IEM's (in ear monitors) reason they are so expensive is because they are typically used in live performances, so the bands can actually hear what they are playing instead of the crowd.

Of course if i have this one i will invest on high end DAP to unlock this earphone potential
I fully disagree. I use these as my daily driver and they are incredible.

WOW!
its a chain effect, sound engineer and editors need players to set their equipments properly so they can tune everything optimally for best result
PROS:
+They sound great, better than any other pair of headphones that I have previously owned (although that's not saying much since the only pair of headphones that I had owned are beats solo hd). But, they did not make me start laughing when I heard them. I also wouldn't say that they are "next level".
+They are very well made, very solid feeling.
+Lots of customization. The numerous ear tips are very nice. I haven't tried the filters so I won't comment on those.
CONS:
+Although these IEMs do have very nice bass, they are nowhere near the quality of a pair of headphones.

It did, But Shure were ahead 😉
It’s pretty much advanced to the max
a lot of top tier audio products that people use came out in the in the mid to late 1900s. Audio products dont really progress like a lot of other technology does. some of the best headphones and mics came out 30+ years ago

Turn the volume up high enough, and any pair of earbuds will be "noise cancelling"... :-P

True turning the earbud sound up will cancel sound, but will the sound stay good or will the music sound like symbols clashing in your ear, point is with the volume turned up on most ear buds they sound absolutely crap, if I had to guess that's not the case with these earbuds, probably why they cost a lot.

if you can't tell the difference between song bitrates, this is a complete waste of money
This are in ear monitors for musicians to use live or in the studio, its not meant for the average listener.
you've never tried them, shut up. What's the best pair of headphones you've ever owned? There's a reason why they're praised by audiophiles all around the world, people who own hundreds of headphones and own headphones up to 2k dollars. Again, what's the best u tried? You prob don't even know how balanced armatures work
the real question is, could you even fucking tell if someone didin't tell you there was a balanced armature or not?
i dont even deal with headphones anymore, i have 2 m-audio bx8s which can hit 50hz with no db loss, down to 20hz and below at -8db, attached to a mackie eq and effect mixer
neaumusic A big reason WHY a lot of people can't tell the difference is BECAUSE of the audio equipment they're using.
