I agree that some of the books you mentioned are overrated, but not the fourth one. I think Mark Manson did a really good job at making an unique self-help book that isn't similar to any other one of it's type
I have many thanks to give to Shiva Trilogy. First, my reading journey started from here. I do remember those 8-9 days as a fit of delirium where sometimes the words disappeared and only action run in front of my eyes. The chills that it gave down my spine at places, I can't even now recall any other book did that. However now that I am an advanced reader I think I possibly may not like it, but definitely at that time I lived the novel.
I just finished Immortals of Mehula today.. I personally enjoyed the book. When i started reading, i couldn’t put it down. ♥️ I didn’t enjoy Alchemist 🤦♀️.. Six of crows is on my TBR List.
But bro you will love six of Crows . I mean how can anyone hate that? Does anyone hate Harry Potter and Ocean's Eleven? It's Harry Potter + Ocean's Eleven
(Spoiler alert) Both Kaz and Inej have PTSD, you can see them triggered by the traumatic memories of their past at multiple scenarios. While Inej was torn off from her loving family to be sold off as a prostitute, Kaz was assumed to be dead because of the plague and he literally had to swim on his brother's dead body as a yatch to stay alive, which I feel definitely explains his gloves situation. Kaz was also only 8 years old when all his morals were shattered because of a con and eventually lost his brother. The sudden shift of the situation makes him 'dirtyhands', a route to survival in Ketterdam.(which I felt was a good reason for his indifferent/rude behaviour)
I agree. When i first started reading books 5 years ago, i was mad about meluha ! But after reading the likes of robert jordan, patrick rothfuss, joe abercrombie, tolkien. The book is below average for me.. feel that the ram series holds up better now.
I also got disappointed by the Alchemist. But I did considered it as a normal story and not any self help book because it is very much based on destiny and all.
I totally agree with your opinion on the book The Alchemist.I saw a lot of people out there who consider this book to be their Bible which changed their lives completely but for some reason or the other I could not connect with this book.Btw can I request you something? Can you do a book review on the book 'My Sister's Keeper'?
I am in total agreement with you. Up-to the time of watching this video, I was hesitant to make comment on Alchemist, as it is a popular book and my comment might make others to think that I am a person having weird thoughts. But you have shattered everything. Stupendous. Bold and very frank in coming out with your firm opinion. Super.
Just finished reading the alchemist and really it's so hyped up. I read it and its predictable throughout the end. Finally I found someone who agrees. 😁
I also find The Alchemist and Immortals of Meluha very overhyped. Though I liked the Hating game( it was cringe surely).... I recently found your channel and I'm loving your videos..♥️
Sometimes even a simple story of one's pursuit of his dreams and desires can touch our hearts...and the Alchemist is one of those..... however when people say it's a Bible for them and it's a must read then it's an exaggeration ...and then people who haven't read it when they read it with such expectations...it will surely dampen their spirits....so yeah overhyping anything surely becomes it's drawback over time as people set high expectations... When I first read the Alchemist ...I really didn't have expectations from it...but the simple story of the boy made me realise that in the end it's the age old morals , values and believing in ur journey that matters...also u need to have a sense of mysticism to understand the near ending part of the book...:)

Ohhh that's sad😪 , i have read the book like 2 -3 times and read every other book of John Green, the reason why people like his writing is for the style as well as subtle humour and sometimes enlightening thoughts...like the euology scene in TFIOS .
