Luna was the one character to be casted perfectly. Even Rowling herself said that the actress was perfect for the role when she met her. Having in count I love Luna so much, that was very well casted.

A huge part of intelligence is knowing that YOU don't know everything :) hence why I think Hermione didn't get into ravenclaw - she focuses only the facts and never thinks out of the box
Luna is such a wonderful character she is smart and a bit unusual but she helps with so much like going to the ministry and the ravencla diadem truly Luna is an amazing character!

Luna isn't crazy, she's creative, which is an important part of intelligence, hence why she is a Ravenclaw. I'd love to have seen Luna win some mental battles against Hermione, even in the form of light comedy.

Well in the book, Luna is described to be looking very hideous, she often puts weird stuffs all over her outfit and doesn't seem very hygienic either. Everyone is often startled at first sight, and to top that she often talks about all the weird creatures no one ever heard of. Movie Luna is simply cute and tidy, therefore when they try to make others uncomfortable to match with what most people feel about her in the book, it's an awkward attempt, Luna behaves completely normal here, attractive even.
Strange how Hermione seems to know everything about the magical world because _"she probably read it in a book"_ yet doesn't know that Thestrals pull the carriages

That was the moment when i thought Luna were going to be Harry's chosen one, what a deception...
See that's a really massive failure of the filmmakers. They did, or seemingly did, more to show a bond between Luna and Harry than with Harry and Ginny. Part of the problem was that movie Ginny had no personality, and Harry had no attraction to her until randomly in the next movie. The other issue is that they gave Harry a multitude of scenes with Luna, and made her out as someone who really understood him.
I guess not everything translates perfectly, but I doubt J.K. Rowling was particularly thrilled with how it turned out. She obviously liked Luna's actress perfectly fine, it's not her fault. It was a failure of writing.
@@Korijenkins1414 dont blame the film, blame the book. Harry suddenly fell in love with Ginny in the 6th book which makes no sense at all.

In the films all we have is what we see, and we see Harry and Luna bond in this film, and then it's just never brought up again.
@@kaleidoscope3234 Well, that's how it often is with love, it happens suddenly, so that's a weird criticism. Obviously there was no foreshadowing, because JKR wasn't sure who Harry should end up with, but the books do show in HP5 that Harry and Ginny are becoming good friends, establishing Ginny as someone who not only can keep up with Harry, but also understands him on a level others can't (read: their experiences with Voldemort), so there's definitely a connection there. It didn't have to turn romantic in HP6, but it's also not coming completely out of left field.

^ No one said his parents died, Zainab. But in the book Neville could see the Thestral, because he witnessed his grandfather's death. Luna was nine when she witnessed her mother's, but as Harry was only one when his mother was killed in front of him, he couldn't remember it and it didn't count; so he couldn't see the Thestrals until he witnessed Cedric's death.

That’s the only reason he could see the Thestrals in the first place. He was too young to process his mother’s death when it happened, so he couldn’t see them until Cedric died.
Luna is my favorite character in the franchise, she’s so adorable and quirky and I love it.

In my opinion just like how Emma Watson played a Disney Princess namely Belle in the Beauty and the Beast remake Evanna Lynch who played Luna would be perfect to play Snow White in a live action remake of Snow White and the seven dwarfs. This is simply because Luna and Snow White are very similar to one another in terms of personality and Evanna even has the voice for Snow White. If I was directing a remake of Snow White and the seven dwarfs Evanna would be my only choice. It would mean though she had to wear a black wig but I think if she was approached to play the original princess she would be honoured.

Yeah long before the new Beauty and the beast came out I always taught that Belle in the 1991 animation was very similar to Hermonie in so many ways especially in the Goblet of Fire like Harmonies hair style was just like Belles in the 1991 animated version and The way they both walked down the stairs .
