  • The Pristine Actions duo Charles and Dre put together Pristine Bolt Action Receiver. No need to go to the Local Gun Smith. You should already have all the basic tools at home if you are working with a prefit Savage barrel.
Pristine Technologies, Inc is a Bolt Action Company based in Chilliwack, BC, that launched earlier this year at Shot Show 2022.
We have developed an amazing R700 footprint action. We are looking to work with rifle builders, dealers, and sponsored shooters.
You can find more information by visiting our website at www.shootpristine.com for more details regarding our product.
The response we’ve received since Shot Show, and the NRA show has been overwhelmingly positive. The current lead time for Pristine Bolt Actions is 3 to 5 Business Days.
Below are some links to the types of rifles we’ve built.

I built my first "custom" rifle ( I use the term custom very loosely) recently. When I shot out the barrel of my Howa 1500 Varmint I swapped the barrel, put the barreled action in a new stock, and added a AICS compatible mag kit. Swapping a barrel on a bolt gun is quite simple if you have the proper tools. I hope videos like this one become much more popular.

That's awesome you could do that by yourself. We bet it probably took you a few tries to get it to fit the way you wanted. But thanks for your feedback. Dre and Charles have been busy keeping the business running, but they plan to make more videos soon. Be sure to subscribe and click the notification bell so you'll be notified whenever we post a video. You can also follow us on Instagram and Facebook. There you'll find all the rifles the boys are working on.

@@pristineactions Actually a lot more barrel makers are selling shouldered prefits for a lot more actions. A custom one like your pristine action should be easy as pie to get one for. Spin it on, check the headspace, and torque to spec. It's literally that simple. Getting the mag kit to fit right took longer than installing the barrel. I have to admit the barrel nut system is VERY ENTICING though. I will be looking forward to more videos.

Pristine should make a receiver rod for their action that would grab in a bench vise like a Midwest Industries AR15 Receiver Rod, this would be great for Savage style pre-fit barrels. It should also be designed to be used with a barrel vise to allow for a shouldered barrel fit up. I am a gunsmith, I would not lend out my headspace gauges, but would check headspace for the builder for a fee. Keeping the Gunsmith out of the loop may be cheaper up front, but may get expensive if there is a problem with your home built rig. Fit on pre-threads are generally pretty loose also, I have found. Also, the ejection port does not match a standard Rem 700 ejection port, at least on that Bell and Carlson stock, which would drive me nuts.

Hi @x20020x thanks for your feedback. Soon after the video was released we thought about ways we can improve our receiver wrench. Your advice to build a receiver rod similar to the Midwest Industries Receiver Rod is most welcome and something we will look into.

I bought two Pristine actions and after having one returned and replaced I can only make one complaint and that is it's to bad they installed a cheap cap that rattles and sometimes falls off the end of the bolt.
other manufacturers of rifle actions install a nice heavy cap that fits well.

Could extending the receiver and barrel threads by 2 - 4 inches assist with barrel harmonics?
Do they take AR 15, AR-10, BAR, 30 carbine, Barrett magazines?
Does a bullup bolt action or pump action rifle exist?
Do you make a chassis stock or traditional stock with a thumbhole?
Have you thought about making A BOLT ACTION AR Variant?
Can you guys make an updated version of the Nosler Model 48 pistol into a bullup bolt, or straight pull, pump action rifle that also takes AR15, AR-10 BAR, 30 carbine, and Barrett magazines?

Get a defiance action and a proof research shouldered prefit barrel. You don’t need a ugly barrel nut . You torque it to 90 lbs and your done.. no recoil lug needed, it’s machined into receiver with picatinny rail , no screws or pins.. far superior to this! Plus you get a solid bolt handle, throw it into a chasis.. built mine and have a 5 shot one hole group, first time shooting! 2 parts not 5 .. less stacking of tolerances! These actions are over priced! A defiance ruckus action is 1300 and nitride coated, it’s 2 pieces, this is 5 pieces!

Hi there, currently we offer a short-action receiver, which is compatible with all short-action calibers. We achieve this through three different sized bolt heads to cover the array of caliber choices. We will also be releasing a long-action receiver within the next few months so Pristine customers will be able to continue shooting all sorts of great calibers for a long time to come. Personally, I really enjoy the 6MM ARC, which uses our .445 in. sized bolt head.
