    Just want to say thank you again. Got the problem fixed. You were 100% right. It was the gas filter. Change the air filter also. It’s running like a brand new one now.

    My local SKAG dealer seems to be full of friendly but clueless parts employees..

    Try swapping out the ignition coils. It works.

    They couldn’t fathom that a $7 filter, installed by the owner could fix so many issues haha. They wanted to charge you the “diagnostic” fee and just change the filter themselves and charge you $30 for the part.

      @Dario - for sure. I was actually disappointed in myself that I paid $7 for the filter that I know I could have gotten online or another store for $3. Thanks for watching.

    You mentioned you replaced the belt and fuel filter, which one fixed the bogging down issue?

    • @thedangerson
      @thedangerson  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Ultimately, it was the fuel filter. Although if you know that you recently hit something while mowing, you very well could have stretched your belt which will manifest in slippage or bogging down, especially in higher grass. In line with an old shop quote "Go cheap, go easy", I would start with replacing your fuel filter, then sharpen your blades, then get a new belt (if needed). Good luck and thanks for watching.

      @@thedangerson awesome thank you! Which belt did you end up replacing as well? The deck belt or drive belt?

    • @thedangerson
      @thedangerson  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I replaced the cutter deck belt. That is the one that will stretch if you hit something significant. The belt will look and run fine cutting light stuff, however, it will be just a biiiiiittttt stretched so that when you hit thick grass it slips under that load and the blades won't cut. Took me a while to figure that one out. I usually have 2-3 belts on hand at all times. There are a couple of good online sources so you don't have to spend lotsa money at the dealer or for Scag belts. Good luck!

      Sounds good, I’ll order one as well. Do you happen to have a video on how to replace the belt? 😊

      @thedangerson  Před 2 měsíci

      Unfortunately not. But there are several on YT by searching "Scag belt replacement". It is quite easy with a 1/2" socket wrench.

      Wish I could help you. My Scags are older and do not have the check engine light. I've never had to chase codes on my mowers. Keep searching; there are some good forums out there that should be able to provide you a direction to go. Good luck!
