I once heard something interesting from one man. He told "There is no such quality as shyness in nature. Shyness is just a fear to show your Real Ego."
A person becomes shy because he is trying to be liked by the people around him. The question is WHY? Because he was taught since he was a child, that if he wants to be good to people, he has to do everything so they can like him. So in his internal program: "Good person - always tries to be liked by others". And whenever he doesn't try to be liked by others, he feels himself as he is COLD and INDIFFERENT to the people around him. If he doesn't tries to be liked, HE FEELS HIMSELF AS A BAD PERSON.
In other words, Shyness or a desire to be liked by others, is his way to connect with people around him. And he doesn't know any other way to do that.

Hi Julien.Thanks for the vid.I would suggest a redefinition of terms if I may.Introversion is different from low self esteem.Introverts tend to process information internally , through reflection and introspection. They focus on the meaning of the events around them . They prefer lower doses of stimulation in their lives and in their time spent among others they prefer two or three friends that they know well . Furthermore, they feel energized and work optimally in their office with the blinds covering part of the light , with noise reduced.They work best on their own. They are dedicated to tasks and can focus easily ( Myers - Briggs , 1962).Low self esteem aka shyness, is the fear of social judgement and is derived from negative feedback recived from the person's environment.Cool vid.

So glad you've read the Denial of Death - I love that book. Actually, I got it for Christmas in 2007 from perhaps the sexiest woman I've ever met or been with - and she eventually committed suicide. I had a fiance and left her on Christmas Eve that year for this woman and it was unbelievable for about 2 1/2 weeks and then it all exploded in my face, lol. Straight up, I did hundreds of hours of self-guided therapy to try to work through what happened there. But I'm doing really good now - best I've felt since before that happened. Anyway, Earnest Becker is awesome - and there are some others by him that are pretty good as well. "The Birth and Death of Meaning is great, but you've got to find the optimistic spin to tack onto the end of it yourself. There's also a great one about the nature of Evil - how beliefs are reified, why in-groups form and why cultures alienate one another and determine to destroy each other. Pretty insightful. Denial of Death is the one he felt proudest of though.

Julien, have you read any books written by Alexander Lowen? Might find them interesting - Joy, Narcissism, Fear Of Life, Bioenergetics. They've benefited me massively. Before reading them I was the guy who always "misinteprets" RSD. I've been following those books and now the stuff that is taught in RSD has a new meaning and is a lot more intuitive. Check them out if you have time :) Thanks for vids.
