- Today we're making diner food on the griddle with all of your favorite diner classic menu items - griddle patty melts, french fries, and of course, homemade chocolate milkshakes (not made on the flat top grill!).
Steak 'n Shake, watch out! We'll start off by throwing some frozen french fries on the griddle, and I'll show you some tips for getting them perfectly crispy. Then, we're making half pound patty melt burger for all of my thick griddle burger lovers out there. And for dessert, we're doing rich chocolate milkshakes my way, made with chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk, and a bit of cocoa powder.

Decide to break the grill with a patty melt as the maiden voyage. I used Texas Toast ('cause I live in TX 😁).
Rookie mistake, but I didn't wipe the grill's excess grease when I placed the bread down. A bit greasy, but delicious. And, about the time I was halfway through I realized the Shake That seasoning I bought from you won't be here until July 5. Oh well, it gives me another reason to grill some more fries.

First, your AP spices are delish, hands down great on just about everything. Used it on salad, HB eggs, chicken strips, you hit a winner. Be ordering more and as gifts. Love this burger combo and the fries on the griddle. Can't do the chocolate shake, allergic to chocolate but strawberry or blackberry are indeed in the Que.

And as much as I will not eat a burger without mayo, I do the same thing, leave the patty melt undressed and then I dip it and the fries in 1000 island!! This looks amazing! Patty melts are one of our favorites so I will give this a go soon. You didn't say much about the fries and how they came out. Were they crispy? How did they compare to how they are normally done either in an oven or air or deep fryer? They sure looked perfect.
Well deep frying is a league in its own....it wasn't necessarily about better than the others but you cook a ton at once...like an air fryer is so limited...Crispy YES...but in fairness we did buy the Crispy french fries style...I appreciate the support...

Just balance...if it was not for filming I would have cooked all tougher and pulled at the same time...but when filming it does take a toll on the times...

Question: cold fries suck as I'm sure you would agree. How did you keep your fries hot without burning them while you finished the patty melts? - By the way, if you ever decide to open a diner, I'll make the drive to Tennessee. It would be worth it for a half pound patty melt and a death by chocolate shake!

When filming no doubt it puts a strain on who things cook...especially for pics etc...I actually pulled fried off when done and continued to film...my in laws were over and ended up just after taking all the pics throwing the fries back on the hot griddle just ot warm...
IF making for just Amy and I, I would have been adjusting times and cooked all together at the right time to finish together

how do you feel about using an aluminum pan with oil on the griddle top and deep frying the fries compared to fries directly on the griddle?
