- Mazda started with a lofty ambition: they wanted to create a legit luxury SUV. The result is the 2024 CX-90 3.3L AWD HEV Turbo Exclusive. Yes, it’s a mouthful, but Vince takes it out for a full review to find out if they hit the mark.
NOTE: The Artisan Red color adds PHP 22,400 not PHP 22,800

Iba talaga pag Mazda. Love the color!
Love the power, torque, smoothness of that inline6. Driving dynamics is superb for its size. The rwd bias is fun to drive on the twisties. Definitely a top choice compare to similar price subaru evoltis and hyundai palasade
It would be nice to have a mazda 6 with this drive train and awd
I replace those Toyos with Michelin Primacy SUV+. Now my CX5 drives more like a luxurious SUV, quiet and refine ride. A little sacrifice on the sharp steering. Just a little.
Third Row Seats are always made for kids, always. Car reviewers like giving the impression that car companies don’t design the 3rd row well, it’s disingenuous. My advice, hire a kid for the 3rd row, that would be a fair review.
It is still better if the 3rd row can fit adults for whatever demands the family might need
Yung 2003 na ford everest sobrang luwag ng third row. As in 3 adult kasya. Tapos paliit ng paliit pagdating ng 2024😂
@@paopaofdgthen get a full size van.
This is a good review. Sir, if you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? Just want to know for reference. 🙂🙏
168cm
Hi, can you also do an in depth review of Mazda CX-8?
For me i would be convinced with that SUV but sadly it doesnt offer a diesel engine like any typical SUV here in Philippines :(
The smoothness of gas engine specially this inline6 is second to none. With its 450nm of torque pulling power feels like driving a diesel engine but with added gorgeous sound.
Sa Australian market, may 3.3 Diesel engine variant sila for their CX90.
It would be very interesting if Mazda PH would bring in the CX-70 AKA the CX-90 w/o the 3rd Row here!
pag nanalo ako sa Lotto bibilhin kita.
Sir vince pls help. which is better overall cx 9 or 90? almost a million differnce in price is it worth it? Thanks po.
Not naman whether one is better or the other. But i would test both and see which fits your needs better.
I am more inclined to the cx9 just because of the price even though it is about to be phased out because of the arrival of the cx90. But if you have the moolah, go for the 90 since it’s the newer car, newer interior, exterior and features and engine.
@@jericoleandrocortado9735 but the ride quality of 90 is a bit stiff as mentioned in the video unlike the cx 9
@@jericoleandrocortado9735 If you had to choose something now (2024), I would prefer CX9 (and madami pa silang stocks nito sa Mazda Alabang). It has been around for a while kaya all the bugs and kinks have been fixed na.
With CX90, all-new sya which is nice..........pero as mentioned by a few, may mga konting indecisiveness sa 8-speed wet clutch automatic nya.
Software updates have been released for it sa North America and Australia.........pero dunno, kung available na sya dito sa atin (?)
Either should be fine.
Pero, if I were to buy it within 2024, I would choose CX9 kasi matured na ang platform and the bugs / glitches have been fixed (those built after 2021 have fixed the cylinder gasket issue).
Sa CX90, transmission needs refinement (though software updates have been released) and may solution na rin para sa Steering Wheel Worm Gear mechanism.
I saw the other reviews of CX90 and they have power folding capability on the third-row. Not sure why it is not here.
The CX90 was voted as Mototrend's most dissapointing car last year. Same complaints the suspension and transmission lacks refinement I think Mazda needs to improve on this, but the interior looks great.
Hoping that the PHEV variant will be sold here as well.
Yup that would be nice.
Along with the CX90 Diesel Mild Hybrid variant that they sell in Australia
Meron b sila variant na hind hybrid. . im not fun of hybrid
For CX90, puro Mild Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid lang ang global powertrain lineup.
If you want non-hybrid, baka CX-9 might be more favorable sa iyo.
All CX-90s models are either mild hybrid of PHEV.
Test drove both CX-90 and CX-70 both with V6…CX-70 is a better choice
V6?
The car has been awesome for the past months only issue is jolty shifting from 10-20kph as per mazda a software update will fix this but no update on when they will update this. For a 3m plus car its a deal breaker. Power is amazing though but if you want comfort get a palisade. Before you buy test drive, the jolty shifting takes some time to get used to.
Software update is available months ago. I had mine done already.
Interesting question:
Given na 600,000 PHP ang pagitan between CX9 and CX90 (as of February 2024), mas makakatipid ka ba with the CX9? (e.g. slightly higher fuel consumption......pero yung cheaper price ni CX9 can pay for the higher fuel expense?)
@@user-oy4rw3wp7g wala pang update ang dealer dito sa cebu, kumusta shifting nya after the update?
@@julescortes1584 It’s just a software upgrade. I don’t understand why Cebu branch doesn’t offer it. Anyway, it’s noticeably better after the upgrade.
@@blackcyborg009 I haven’t tried CX9. So, I don’t know exact fuel figure of that. But, definitely I did not buy CX90 due to its fuel economy but its style, design and performance. Inline 6 is one of main reasons why I chose this over other vehicles with 4 cylinder engines.
They should brought the PHEV trim instead of this.
PHEV is not ideal for the country, look at the Outlander, how many do you see in the road? Almost none right? HEV is more effective in the market lol
@@tmrt973 well, I'm just grateful that this is exempted to number coding.
Is this coding exempted?
Yes coding exempt.
Call its luxury sibling “Dazma.” Ye know, where the 1% lives. 😂
We see what you did there 🤣
Many reviewers abroad say the ride is too firm. Is it true?
I also want to know about this in regards to PH roads
It's there in the vid 😊
@@vince.pornelos Say compared to the cx9? The cx9 rode very well.
Yup it's firmer than what we expected. We think they could do with more fine tuning in the suspension department.
The brand wanted a luxury SUV, but the engineers wanted to create a driver's car. They can achieve both if they went with a variable suspension set up.
It might be attributed to its 21" wheels.
not a good car according to the car care nut the engine and tranny is complicated another thing is its only a mild hybrid with only 48v battery i dont why they doe said its a hybrid when it cannot propel the car with electric alone
this could've been more affordable if not for the freaking inflation.
Value stays the same in an inflation/deflation
Ito ba yung pag papalitan mo yung BELT ay kailangang ibaba ang buong MAKINA? 😎
Nope its a timing chain not belt.
Ok mali ako timing chain pala.
Ulitin ko na lang tanong ko.
Ito ba yung pag papalitan yung TIMING CHAIN eh kailangang ibaba yung buong makina? 😎
Ah from car care nut. Usually time chain doesnt need replacement. Or kung papalitan man baka sa 200k km na. So mga aabutin ng 10years bago palitan. Eh usually mga buyers 3+ mga sasakyan sa garahe. Puros mga low mileage at every 5years nagpapalit ng sasakyan. So no worries😅
Salamat. Hassle kasi diba. 😎
When it comes to low speed driving and especially during stop and go traffic, a suzuki espresso's auto transmission outperforms the CX90's sophisticated hybrid multiplate clutch pack transmission in terms of smoothness. 😉
The way you review the cx90 is like comparing to a alphard when it comes to space. It’s not a full size SUV. Trying to fit in a 3rd you with your size and blame the design is not fair. You are being picky in an unreasonable way. And the aim of mazda when it comes to handle is the balance of luxury and sportiness when it comes to riding to have connections to the road to feel the performance of inline 6. Magic carpet ride for that price? Try a maybach. Very bad review from your side.
This would have been an easy choice if it had the 340hp tune. Sadly, we in the Philippines always get the scraps
I wonder if detuned sya kasi Euro 4 quality ang fuel natin (hence why we only got the 280 HP tune).
Maybe someone can confirm (?)
Everything is nice except the space. The aspect where Mazda sucks
