I'm a 33 y/o hardened war vet probably see 30 people die in all different areas, war hospital etc. Man watching his video had me between tears and laughs, the kid is special, praying he keeps strong, he said he doesn't want to be a poster boy, but handling this may just make him that. For alot of us battling addiction, just like jelly roll has become for many

That’s called Owning It. As uncomfortable as it was for him, while I’m sure he wanted to run and hide, he had more balls to address this head on than most do. The past is the past. The shit I did when I was younger, man I’m *thankful* there weren’t cameras involved.

I really hope Sketch sees this video and reaches out. We’ve lost so many great streamers and entertainers due to the toxic environment of the internet, and we almost lost this one too. Sketch is definitely a one of kind streamer and it’d be impossible for anyone to fill the imprint he has. He really didn’t need to apologize for anything, if anything, he’s owed an apology. Hope Sketch can get the help he needs, hearing him talk about how bad things could’ve got if he was by himself when this happened just honestly broke my heart. He’s such a sweet guy and no one deserves the kind of treatment he got❤

@@DanHosler I don't think the current FaZe dudes are D-Bags. Generally the culture around gaming has been toxic in a lot of ways. Doesn't excuse any behavior that could be seen as D-Bag behavior, but I think it's important to remember that it's a culture that they've been a part of for almost 20 years, and it's easy to get caught up or lost in that culture.
If Sketch hadn't been with the FaZe guys the night this came out, there's a real chance we would be mourning instead of celebrating the courage and strength Sketch showed by saying all of this on stream.

I genuinely don’t understand why Sketch is getting so much hate. So what it turns out that he’s gay? Who cares? Homophobia being rampant in 2024 is wild. I can’t imagine being so cruel to someone over something like being gay that they genuinely consider ending their own life. With the amount of backlash he’s receiving you would think he did something harmful. Mental health matters and I genuinely hope Sketch gets the help he needs.
I'm finding the ones that disgaree are having their comments removed. So you really won't find any pushback outside kids gloves and walking around eggshells with the censorship. There are multiple things wrong with what he did, sadly the only place that won't censor me is something like Kiwifarms.

honestly the majority of the reactions to this sad situation has restored some of my faith for the online world, I'm glad everyone is taking it as serious as self harm/suicide should be treated. I'm glad sketch had people around him that day that seemed to truly care about him and his well being.
When he was talking about eating something, I know he was gonna say a bullet. Thats so fucking sad, he basically got outed when he wasn't ready. I can't imagine how violating that must feel.

@@kenshugo Sketch is huge figure in the sports community (which isn’t a notoriously open-minded group of people), so much so that actual athletes follow him on multiple platforms. Gay or not, it’s understandable that he’d feel the need to apologize for his past. This is just context as to why he might feel shame-I think it’s worse to speculate on what he is and ignore that he may just not feel comfortable in sharing such a personal thing about himself, whether he is gay or was only doing gay things for money.

This comment is disingenuous and I will tell you why. Being a fan of someone is not unconditional. If you support someone not knowing all the information of what they do or who they are behind closed doors or when the camera is off, then you’re a fan under somewhat false pretenses. When presented with new information, fans are allowed to change their mind about how they feel about that celebrity or influencer or whatever you want to refer to them as. Supporting someone is not unconditional. Begruding teenage football gamer fans because they are disappointed that their favorite twitch streamer is a deviant sex worker on the Internet is not fair or proper. Keep in mind, Sketch made these life choices. None of his fans for the last two years had any awareness of his proclivities that were reprehensible.

So many people are failing to see that just because Sketch had good people around to support him during this, that doesn't mean that all of his suicidal thoughts are just gone. Things like this will stay in a persons thoughts, and will really weigh them down.
If any of you are religious, or even if you're not, please consider keeping Sketch in your thoughts and prayers. He's a good guy who made some decisions he regrets. I don't think there's anything wrong with what he did, and I don't think Sketch meant that being gay is a bad thing when he said "I fucked up." I think he legitimately regrets ever posting those intimate things online.
It has been wild to watch Sketch receive more hate for being gay than certain other streamer(s) who have been exposed for predatorial activity.
Everyone is deserves to be listened to, loved, and respected. Everyone makes mistakes. Be kind to each other.

I love sketch he’s such a fresh take on the streaming world, and he brings so much entertainment to so many like myself
I've seen Sketch around, genuinely one of the nicest if not the nicest streamer i've met so far. I watched him stop what he's doing to spend 30 minutes taking selfies straight with fans and more time but in between of what he was doing. This was off camera as well. I hope he is doing well and truly hope he reaches out after seeing this video.
I saw the post of the message that saved him. He left his valuables and all his stuff at the house he stayed in or something with his roomates. So I am grateful to know that someone had reached out to Sketch before he would've done something we all thought would never happen.
I don't care what he did in his past. It wasn't illegal. I care about who he is today. He's kind, respectful, funny, and (hopefully) sober. So many kudos just for that. I am glad he had people ready to show him love in the time he needed it most.
I really needed to see this. As someone who is dealing with addiction currently in recovery on the verge of losing my career in the railroad. So much progress to still make and things to bring to the light in my life. Thank you.

I can't imagine going through that while being in the public eye. I knew I was gay at a very young age. Was suicidal pretty much K-12. Sexually assaulted multiple times in elementary school. Then it happened again when I was 14, and the person (who was 20 at the time) proceeded to stalk me off and on for YEARS.
Grew up visiting my mom in the psyche ward. She overdosed multiple times in front of me when I was a kid. Fell deep into my own drug addiction at 14.
I got clean at 21, thankfully. Since then, I've just been coasting.. I spend a lot of time in isolation. It's hard to break from that. Not truly living. I've felt numb most of my life now. I just recently started seeing someone for ptsd which was something that never crossed my mind until I started having panic attacks the last few years. I'm not sure where it goes from here. Still numb, and it's like a knot in my mind that I can't untie. It breaks my heart to see people out him like that. Hurt people hurt people I guess..

ive always hated going to therapy because i always felt like i was being judged and was never understood, but watching your videos makes me wish i could have a therapy session with you just to vent what ive held in for the past 7 years. keep up the amazing work.
my grandmother also tells me suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. i told one of my friend that when hes was suicidal and it literally help him not end it all.

I think it's less about what you say, and more so just being there. If someone has reached that point, it's hard to logic your way out of an emotional situation. But knowing there are people with you that want you here, and are willing to try and figure things out with you is immensely relieving.

It hurts much more when your actual friends and business partners leave them strangers and bots. Doc has no path to return. It's easy to see a path to sketch getting back to what he loves quickly..

Can't sue when everything leaked sketch put out in the public domain. There is no expectation of privacy when you post something to the public.

you can sue someone for defamation even if the defamatory statement is already in the public domain, but the standard of proof depends on whether the defendant is a private figure or a public figure.
In general, a plaintiff must prove the following elements to win a defamation lawsuit:
The defendant published a statement about the plaintiff
The statement was false
The statement was harmful
The statement was unprivileged
The plaintiff suffered damages, or harm to their reputation

youre wonderful, im glad i came by your channel. watching this video made me sad for many reasons but one was what the internet and people have become. everyone is inconsiderate, rude, toxic, and just short minded. they don't think of others anymore, but just of themselves. it honestly breaks my heart to see all the rude things that are done on the regular day.

If it's on the internet, people will find that it doesn't matter if it's 100 years from now or 2 years from now; it's only a matter of time. That's why we should all aim to have a good image in person and on the internet and think twice about what we create and publish. Things you put out can make you or break you, and when they break you, you may never be able to stand back up with a smile on your face.

I know you probably didn’t mean it this way, but thinking like that in this situation could be viewed as a subtle insult to Sketch. From what I gathered, he was in a really rough patch at the time, battling addictions, and made some choices he now regrets. In his view, what he did was wrong, and I think it’s important to respect his perspective. He mentioned that he’s a changed man and doesn’t want to repeat those actions. Saying he didn’t do anything wrong can come across as ignoring the struggles he faced and the growth he’s experienced since then.
@@JoeBurner1720 he’s not on public trial right now for addiction though. He’s being crucified for having an Only Fans, specifically for it allegedly being gay. There’s nothing wrong with that and no one should care what he chooses to wear or do sexually. The mention of addiction seemed to be his way of excusing that or masking it because he’s obviously embarrassed.
