Man of steel was a good superman movie, they just didn't know how to write his Character after that
@@alexanderm3504 I want to see a more sci fi Superman movie. One where heâs miniaturizing cities and going to other planets. I was hoping we would get a sequel to man of steel where he goes to war world.
With Warner Brothers' current director-driven strategy for their DC adaptations, they just gotta find a director and writers willing to treat Superman with the same love Reeves is treating Batman with at the moment. I'm not hopeful tho.đ
Side note: Been reading through some comments, why is it that Warner Brothers has been responsible for producing films and games based on DC's characters for decades at this point, but so many people still aren't aware of the difference between the two?
In my opinion superman movies are harder to write. And Batman is arguably the most popular superhero right now besides Spiderman. So of course he gets more projects.
I like that Batman never touched the riddler like thereâs always a glass wall between them. A complete mental battle

HATED: the riddles overall motive was terrible. There was no stakes at all. The detective work was boring. It was way too long and I couldnât take Falcon seriously. I was expecting the actor to do his Transformers bit.
LIKED: Catwoman, Gordon, The Penguin and the car chase.
OK: Batman
He did feel like a young Batman, very aggresive, overly motivated to the point he makes mistakes, like not caring for his public image at all and puts himself in the dangerous front unnecesseraly insdead of playing it smart and strategic. These are the attributes you'd expect of a young, vengful, hate-fueled and less experienced batman. You can also see him make many physical mistakes from inexperience (no spoilers) but also develop as he learns to appriciate Alfred as a teacher and fater-figure (Strong orphan motive in this movie).
I think It's his first interaction with such a smart and complicated antagonist, also Gordon's. It's a bit much for him but his young aggression and motivation make him follow through, and we'll see him learn from his mistakes and mature into the best version of himself in the next movie(s). This is unlike Nolan's Batman which pretty much fully develops in the first half of the first movie.
I think he sets a good foundation for the mature Batman we know, very looking forward to the sequel.
Its a different version of him supposedly based off on the batman shaman version
@@James-ov5kg Shaman storyline Batman doesn't constantly fuck up and lose to a villain out of sheer stupidityđ
Heâs barely Bruce Wayne in this movie and that was great.
Yeah he isn't a very tactical batman, more focused on his Detective abilities. Like when he fights that gang in the train... Batman just sort of, walks in casually, and starts beating but he gets hit multiple times. It just doesn't hurt him
Though, it's cool to find out what he uses on his kit.
Like his cape, he pressed a button and it wrapped around him instead of him just jumping and gliding. The injection part at the end (presumably venom)
The green liquid in his lab.
His contact lenses that record.
Chest bat emblem being a knife.
Wrist concealed grappling hook
Who knows what else
He has definitely worked with smart villains before - a deleted scene had Joker in Arkham teasing him about their "anniversary"
I'm surprised you didn't talk about how Gotham City was depicted. I loved the blend of super modern and the old gothic. Some shots looked straight out of Blade Runner, but it seemlessly turned into the gothic architecture you would kinda expect for a batman story.
Best Gotham in any movie.
yeah agreed, best gotham that feels like gotham.
@@Merecir Yeah I totally agree with you three. They nailed Gotham.
It's a depiction of what society will turn into
It felt like the future of how Joker depicts Gotham.
This movie has a lot of symbolism in it as it is more story/character driven than action, we see a lot of amazing shots. This film is ultimately the birth of the "real" batman shown through the contrast/similarities between the other characters. He starts off playing on fear, darkness, and vengeance but later turns into hope and a metaphorical/literal beacon of light with the flare scene. We see his ideology change when the goon also called himself vengeance.

Along with what the Riddler follower said about being "vengeance", it made me remember what Alfred (Nolanverse) said to Bruce in DKR.
And you can see Bruce was contemplating that same thought in the new movie. The question of "what kind of inspiration is Batman going to be"

Iâm surprised you werenât into Catwoman! I thought Zoey Kravitz and Robert Pattinson had great chemistry. Their scenes together were some of my favorite parts of the film.
Joe is basically the only one who didn't like Catwoman. In all the other reviews people are talking about how they loved her and that she had great chemistry with Robert...
I think Kravitz is the best live-action Catwoman to date, but I kinda agree with Joe about the chemistry. It was like an early 2000's movie where the girl just thinks the guy's a dick, but that eventually turns into her falling for him somehow, like the kiss really felt out of nowhere. It would've worked if they built their repertoire up a bit more before it or even just stayed as friends tbh.
Thought it started out promising but it never really went anywhere tbh
My only issue with the relationship is I think it's just a LITTLE rushed.
I went to a video rental store in the mid-90s and asked if I could rent Batman Forever. They said 'No, you'll have to bring it back by next Thursday'.
Sounds like one of Riddlerâs đđ
Better than âSee you next Wednesdayâ written in blood.

I completely disagree on Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman, she was outstanding. I feel Joe is a little upset that Batman gets much better movies than Superman.
I thought she was good but her and Batman really didnât have any chemistry at all, like they didnât even try to give them any on a romantic level until they randomly kiss which had me looking at the screen like đ€š felt kinda forced since itâs a part of their characters in the comics.
@@F4stHeroes Welcome to Batman & Catwoman.
She sucks as Catwoman, and they purposely made her look like a broke Catwoman.. she's far too young to play the role. Their kiss looked fake as hell and forced.. completely unbelievable
Me too. Howâs he going to call her a damse in distress? She was an active agent in her plot. She was her own protagonist and she saves Batman as well. Itâs an equal exchange.

"look at this badass car, he's about to kick some bu-aaand he stalled it."
This movie sucked ass. It was okay but when they flipped the direction of the film (Batman and Catwoman exposition dump on the roof), it just falls off completely. Pattinson is by far the worst Batman to date. Anytime he was on, I was bored.
I really liked that this movie slowed down and let every scene breathe. I felt like I was watching Blade Runner, just a slow-burn trip into the unknown with no unnecessary rush to get to the end. Every scene is allowed to breathe and fully play out and it gives the actors so much room to really BE their characters. Pattinson's subtle yet impactful emoting throughout the film was something you don't get in faster-paced movies and it really tells a story without even using any words.
i really appreciate this take, well said.
I loved how much the movie used silence to its advantage, especially with Batman. So many scenes where he only had to give someone a look to communicate what he needed to. Pattinson was great!
I enjoyed blade runner way better personally
i actually think i like this more than the Cristopher Nolan movies, obviously the soundtrack in the Nolan films is almost unbeatable, but this defiantly come close and fits the tone, though it not a comparison i love hem both, i hope the don't change the tone for the next one like the Nolan films did, (remember how dark and dingy the first one was and then "ok batman cleaned up" but it just became new york. That was my major criticism of those films, that and the fact that everyone has plans within plans that made no sense when you though about them to much.

The story wasn't that good
Love the film but its biggest flaw was making Batmanâs suit so insanely bulletproof, it REALLY takes away the stakes when heâs virtually immune to all harm.
even if its bullet proof. It still fucking hurts like youre actually being shot. Motherfucker took automatic shootings and acted like nothing happened where in reality some people go unconscious or break ribs or have concussions. Not to mention those point blank shotgun hits. Totally unrealistic how he survived that. Also the fucking jumping from the roof with the squirel suit where he hit a fucking bridge. He would have broken bones and be in hospital for months.
Chirstopher Nolans batman was more realistic than this one.
The most badass introduction of a Batmobile ever! So intimidating!
My only small issue, is the trailers showed WAY too many of the great shots, when watching this for the first time you know these shots and how good they are but itâs a lot of stuff seen in the trailers. the scene with the Batmobile through the fire was amazing but was predictable For the next film, Iâm gonna completely avoid the trailers as best as I can.
I try and go spoiler free to movies 8 really want to see, avoiding trailers, posters, etc... It makes the movies MUCH more enjoyable. You discover the plot as you go, versus going in anyway knowing the villain, the plot, etc.
Like seeing Spiderman No Way Home and going in blind, it was so much cooler being surprised in the movie than what the trailers spoiled
Yeah I think I saw 1 trailer, once, and I didnât watch anything else till I watched it and I was freaking out in the theater.
Yea they shouldn't have showed the car chase part in the trailer
Strongly agree. Also the Nirvana joint should have only been used for trailer only. Felt boring and desperate. Canât rely only on trailer juice. Cinematography was the only thing going for me.
Yeah, I wish they hadn't shown what Riddler did to his targets. Those were legitimately brutal moments that would have definitely had a stronger impact if we never saw them coming.

Good. This isn't the Arkham video games and isn't Zach Synders batman. This almost perfect with how batman is from the comics in his early years as batman. This movie is almost like a love letter to the fans of batman but everyone else can enjoy along aswell.
I disagree if he would of out smarted riddler in the end then we wouldnât have got that amazing scene of him saving everybody and winning the people over âŠand how is the cat woman story line boring when if itâs her friend that got killed and she has connections to people who did it
Joe just salty Superman doesn't get this treatment
Yea I didn't get what Jo said about cat woman cause her story was pivotal and was told very well. Her dead friend was what busted her dad. Not so sure he gets that
I don't think that cat woman story was bad it was good and the movie was good
Batman literally gets distracted when all he needs to do is talk to the Russian lady but no, he went after catwoman when she legit has nothing to do with his mission. Catwoman herself has nothing to do with his mission and adds nothing. When catwoman and batman got back, suddenly she gone. Batman could've went in with both of them inside the house. She was the most important clue to entire movie to reduce to a voicemail in catwoman's phone at the end the movie.
That legitimately stupid on Batman part.
Penguin adds nothing to story as well. If you get rid of catwoman and penguin, it would've been a shorter film.
Selinaâs side plot and Long Halloween/Falcone storyline not only took too long, it also wasnât told as effectively as it couldâve been. It couldâve been tighter and more dramatic at the same time.
I also think for this specific movie to really reach masterpiece-level, it wouldâve had to been bold enough to make Alfred/Thomas truly corrupt and Bruce breaking down to/for Riddler, and for Riddler not to have a meaningless attack on Gotham with a hard-to-believe secret gang of orphans communicating via secret social media. As is it shows that Riddler didnât dig enough into the Wayneâs which means we cannot take the corruption of his other targets at face value either, which diminished the impact of the whole movie and his whole role.
This Batman actually looks promising his suit actually looks militaristic and rough around the edges which gives it a rougher and grimmer look for an especially Dark and grimy looking movie

He didnât think about the last clue riddler left him with the murder weapon, like how does he not try to identify what that tool was used for, just by chance the officer had a family member that worked with carpets.
In the dark knight for example Batman used forensics and all this other science stuff to decipher things like the bullet hole in that brick. It wasnât even much but to me definitely more than this one.
I liked how they used Bruce's narrations to get the viewer involved. And anything with the Riddler is fun because you have to think like Batman or try to solve the riddles before he does

@@t0talimm0rtalz bro đ€Łđ€Ł this movie was garbage. So many mistakes made. Watch it again and take a closer look at things.

This man said he could watch Batman Forever over instantly, I couldnât make it though the first watch. Did this guy watch the new Batman. Very well put together movie different take on the Wayneâs.
Not gonna lie thought it was super boring. Was honestly hard to sit through it all. Had a friend legit just leave in the middle of it and honestly I was envious of them. Felt like there was barely any thought process behind this movie.
Ooooohhh I'm glad I found your comment. I felt alone when reading the comments. I watched it last night and thought it was too slow and boring. I was expecting it to blow me away because of all the reviews and hype but ended pretty disappointed. Mind you, the last 30 minutes was ok.
It really didn't feel like 3 hours to me and I really loved the relationship between batman and catwoman. Also loved the music. 10/10 for me.
What did I miss though? Why did I see the most inorganic forced romance situation that seemed to have nothing tangible behind it ?
Seriously. I thought it was 1 example of very lazy character/ plot development.
I respect your opinion. Just have no clue how I saw a polar opposite.
@Ten O its just your opinion tho
@Ten O No it isnât.
Hey its all opinions man film is subjective. But for me you are so wrong. Catwoman is fantastic in this film. The chemistry is amazing between them. Batman does not lean on Gordon he helps him more than the other way around. He is a great detective in this film. For me and like I said it's all subjective, this is the best Batman film ever. And Pattinson is the best Batman for me.
@Ten O yeah thatâs just your opinion donât project your opinion for other people but yourself itâs wrong. shut it
This has got to be a first. A movie where OJ and Alex are more thrilled about the movie than Angry Joe is. Don't recall seeing that before.
Superman fans
Angry Joe usually likes movies with less depth from what I've noticed
Movie wasn't all that. Felt more like a Batman mini series
Dude is real jealous that Batman has better films than Supes. Batman may be Joeâs second favorite but he sure as hell donât show it
Angry Joe is honestly party pooper when it comes to movies. I feel OJ and Alex give good and compelling views but AJ always swoops and steamrolls over the video
Really enjoyed the movie. Probably my favorite live action Batman movie.
Three weeks late.
But I've gotta say, saw this opening weekend. And I enjoyed the hell out of it. Riddler in this movie felt like something straight out of Silence of the Lambs that guy showed no remorse, no regrets, pulled no punches, straight up tortured and honest to God scared the shit out of me, especially in that once scene where he's got the guy's mouth taped shut and he's locked in a cage with clearly no clothes on it was so frigging unsettling. And Colin Farrel's Penguin was unrecognizable. And Zoe Kravitz Catwoman? Halle Barry has got nothing on her. And Pattinson did even better than I thought he would. It was just too good.
I really hope Reeves does the entire trilogy. I think he really did the source material of Ego,Year 1, and The Long Halloween justice. I think they will develop Pattinson's Bruce character as the trilogy progress.
I got Earth One, Telltale, and Long Halloween vibes!
I'd be so disappointed if the whole trilogy doesn't happen. I would probably riot with a BLM t-shirt on so I wouldn't be charged. đđ
Another Batman trilogy???
Isn't he getting several films as well as an HBOMax show set in this version of Gotham? He's getting a good deal, don't worry.
@@jonmartin9732 I mean...yes? It's been ten years since the Batman trilogy. It's not like we're swimming in Batman trilogies even if you count the animated ones. This "The Batman" movie is supposed to be the first movie of a trilogy.
Sometimes I don't understand what Joe wants and complains that some movies aren't long enough and then when a movie is long enough where they can stretch out the character's development he complains that it's too long just the same way he did with Snyder's Justice League
Hd just has his one opinion like anyone. Still fun to watch even though he hated on this and gave Rise of Skywalker far more praise than it deserved.
They are three charismatic people, but they are terrible movie reviewers. I enjoy seeing their opinion like I'd enjoy seeing a friend's opinion, but as a critical opinion... Damn, they are inconsistent as hell
Joe's not a smart guy!...the big guy on the other hand,is!!... I'm not always agreeing with him,but he's always talking sense and articulate!
Kinda weird that he gave Spider-Man NWH a 10/10 but not this. I like that movie but the plot was messy at times. His opinion though and I'm not hating.

Just got back from the theatre, great movie. I like that it was slow paced and felt like a real mystery was going on but also had some nice action. The riddler was great and I like how over exaggerated he was. The atmosphere drew me in with both the modern and the more gothic look to some parts of the city
So this dark version of Batman is good but Snyder dose dark universe and gets disrespected. This show is Soooooo consistent đ
Did you not see the ending of this movie?
Snyder is dark, broody, just to be edgy. This is dark because Batman is coming from a dark place, dealing with the corruption of the city. The city is twisted by those in control, and the Riddler is a force of violence. The end is where this movie shines, and highlights that Batman won't just be a force of darkness and terror, he is going to be a beacon for the people
@@kidunderabridge I can say the same about bvs. Batman was dealing with loss of robin
This was a detective thriller first and foremost and I LOVE Matt Reeves for being so bold in sticking with that decision. What a movie, had a chance to see it on the 1st and going back tonight to see it in IMAX again. All the characters fall into place perfectly, everyone stood out but I'd say Dano and Kravitz more than the others, Pattinson feels like THE BATMAN, he's not just cracking skulls every other scene, he's actually spending the whole movie doing work to figure out what the Riddler's endgame is. The third act, which people have a lot of problems with, I fucking loved, people saying it should have ended when Riddler was put in Arkham are nuts because rarely do you ever get to see the fallout after the bad guy is put away or "killed" especially in a superhero movie, and the shot of Edward watching his bombs go off from his cell, then learning Batman saved everyone was just amazing
***SPOILERS***
His interaction with The Joker was a perfect set-up and I can't wait for the GCPD show with Barry Keoghan as the antagonist Joker. Fuck the Court of Owls everyone is clamoring for, let's have Riddler/Joker team up and then have a falling out for a third movie encapsulating 'The War of Jokes and Riddles'!!!!!!!!!
Nah Iâd rather see Court of Owls than Joker for the 7 millionth time.. we donât need the same villains over and over.
This movies was dogshit
I absolutely love the Joker, but even I have to admit he's overused. The Court of Owls would keep it fresh and its premise is long overdue for a big screen debut.
we don't need another Joker, even if they want to go with more well known villains there are Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy. We've redid Two-Face and Riddler, so it's time to do those two.
It wasnât the joker lmao, it was two face. itâs clearly two face from the comics too and his hair
Saw it last night. Absolute masterpiece for me. 3 hours is perfect and I was invested every minute. Can't help but feel that Joe expected an actionmovie and this is definitely not that. It's a crime thriller that takes it's time to set up so many assests so well and then finishes it off in style. This is the Batman movie I've been waiting for for years. I liked the 'young' actors the most I must say. Pattinson, Kravitz and Dano knocked it out the park. I also liked that the movie isn't going for the forced inclusive casting. Jeffrey Wright felt so natural as Gordon from his first scene for me. Ohh yeah one more thing.. The cinematography and the score in this movie is pure magic.
His issue was catwoman
Complete masterpiece to me Iâm actually shocked
Felt a lot like the Animated Batman series right? Or was that just me?
I donât disagree fully. I think the dark and heavy tends to have the opposite effect at some points where it comes across as dark but it ends up being kind of funny. When I think about this being a real life Batman it was a good movie with the detective aspect and the human element that he gets his ass beat a bunch, but he lacks the stealth element in this movie. He walks up to every fight and knocks on the front door. He allows himself to get shot and bullets bounce off. It feels more like watching iron man with a bad suit in a dark tone. The characters were great. (Except for the reveal of a certain character at the end) they were all dope and engulfed their character the detective Batman was dope. Robert P was a great looking Batman and acted well in the role. I just feel like this is Batman as much as the new joker was a Batman movie. It was an alright movie but I guess Iâm just not on the 10/10 wagon.
So you don't see the blackwashing of 2 major characters as forced inclusive casting? đ€
It really disappoints me that thereâs a huge lack of Bruce in this film heâs supposed to be hidden in plain slight not a recluse

I have nothing to do with the world situation and no resource or power to change it (a standard peaceful protest can get you up to 10 years in prison. I wouldn't go through 10 years of being locked + having a criminal record even for my own country. why dafuk do ppl expect us to do this for another country? noone in the world would have done anything like that, yet we, normal citizens, are the bad guys somehow). Leaving the country is also not an option as Russians get massively bullied in Europe right now (kicked from universities, from jobs, not being allowed in cafes/bars). @@KalomikaArts Bruh, what? The fights were good, and blew Nolan's Batman fights out of the water. They were well choreographed and directed. St. George's Hall looked great with the walker museum and Central Library in the background.
Can someone explain why Alex called Batman in Nolan's movies the dumbest character? As far as I remember Bruce Wayne figures out things pretty quickly in those movies, maybe too easily sometimes. There was a lot of dumb stuff in the script, but I don't remember anything super insulting about the character's actions.

In the Dark Knight series I really didn't care for Batman, the villains were by far the best part! This Batman is all I wanted to see, because he was meticulous and, while the villain is amazingly done, I actually care about the caped crusader. The few fights that were in the movie felt very brutal and unhinged. I love this version, it was not some movie that threw it away like other movies have.
I'm sorry, but this movie was BAD and I really don't get how many people love it so much. It easily had as many plotholes as Ghostbusters 2016. I don't say that lightly.
1. Why is Batman completely fucking bulletproof? He might as well be an armored robot.
2. If this is early in Batman's career, why is he always standing around with all the cops, who strangely just "go with it"?
3. Why is the street level entrance the only way into the night club, making Bruce have to enter as himself then re-emerge as Batman (apparently he hides the suit up his ass).
4. Why did Alfred, who's worked on the case with Bruce, not recognize the Riddler's writing on the package and toss it away/evacuate the staff?
As for the movie aspects itself, some are great! I love the visuals, cinematography, lighting and that they did a good job filming so much in the dark and the rain--that's really hard to do well. That said....
The music is extremely forgettable. The casting is....mediocre, though the makeup and costumers are good. The Riddler's plan execution is dumb. Gotham's weird flood "chokepoint" is way too small and convenient to the plot. I cannot and will not forgive the muddying of Bruce's parents as being beholden to the mob for nothing but stupid publicity and a conspiracy to misuse his charity money. That was stupid as hell.
I do like that this is novice Batman and he makes mistakes he has to live with. That was fairly well done, but I think Ben Affleck's Batman did that aspect better too.
I'd give this about a 2/10. I really hope some better writers get involved if this is the crap we have to put up with for the cinematic Batman for the next few films/spinoffs. Because frankly, I think Joel Schumaker hit more bullseye on the aesthetics and storylines than this team did.
Exactly this isn't a batman movie its a what if superman was emo movie. I gotta say that this Batman really felt like the comic book Batman whereâs he finally a smart detective. Bale was as well but last I remembered, heâd only used his detective skills when he was analyzing a bullet from the Dark Knight. However Bale did portray a better Bruce Wayne than Robert because here Bruce is more antisocial compared to previous portrayals.
Baleâs Batman literally came back from his training - made his suit and flawlessly took out 20 guys and The cityâs biggest Mobster on his first night tho.. Robâs version seems to take the more realistic route and nobody is scared of him yet and hasnât accomplished much as Batman yet.. Nolanâs Batman seemed to have it all figured out from the jump in his version - this is taking the character development a little more gradually.
Thats the point of the movie; this is Batman year 2; bruce wayne persona isnt fully developed because he doesnt give a shit about his bruce wayne identity; all he cares is about being a predator of the night that criminals fear; the major chick even states this; he said to bruce "your family used their mlney to help the city i would love if u do that as well bruce" it is until the End of the movie when he is grabbed by the woman getting a med/evac that he realizes that what he needs to become is a beacon of light and hope because thats the onlu way that he can make a positive change in the city
Soo in the next movies; he is going to use his bruce wayne mask that of a playboy philantropist that uses his money to help gotham because thats something that batman cant do; and he realizes this at the end of the film
You can also expect a better cape/gliding tech and a better batmovile because he is going to evolve throught this saga of films to become the allmigjty batman that we all know
@@santiagocabrera Hasnât developed his Bruce Wayne persona yet? Then this is way less realistic. LOL. Am I the only person who thought this movie was like a 5/10?
The dialogue between characters was strange, cat womanâs goals and interest in batman was completely unbelievable or strange, the car chase where probably 20+ people died in a fiery grave that was never brought up again and penguin ever got punished for, guns not being a threat due to Batman tanking 300+ rounds at point blank.

@@earthstock They can do an anthology series where we get a different B-D List villain/inmate every episode, their own story, perhaps Hugo Strange could be the protagonist treating them. I donât think he depended on Gordon as much a Joe said. Keep in mind they explain in the movie that they have a bond but itâs not solidified. They are still learning to trust each other! Like Alex said this is a stepping stone. He is going to step up and he will evolve and we all want evolution. Some fans and people in general want results just off the bat. No one is going to go from having 30 pounds of belly to 6 pack the next day. Fans blame DC so much about how DC rushes , but do the same when characters arenât overpowered or already at their peak in movies. He is a very young Batman and will hopefully grow to the Batman we want. Also feel like Joe in reality didnât like it . He just doesnât want back lash and he shouldnât fear that if you like it you like it, and if you donât you donât itâs simple donât be afraid to be honest! I had a friend that couldnât finish it and walked out. As for me saw it twice already and I enjoyed it more the second time
Yeah, I think it's clearly noticeable that this is meant to be looked at as the planned trilogy it is. Especially, it gives you clear implications that the Bruce-Bats duality that we all love is gonna come next, in here this is him just being unhinged, immature and still not considering creating his whole playboy persona.
Zoe Kravitz is the worst catwoman and Penguin was underplayed. We didn't even get to see his super umbrella.
Thereâs one scene that got a chuckle out of me, where after interrogating a tied-up penguin and leaving him behind, the Penguin literally waddles for a moment.

I don't think it was too long
This movie looked cool, kept me entertained the whole time, and I love Robert as batman/Bruce Wayne
Looked like arkham games and that is fantastic
The most boring Batman film to date. Does not live up to previous films. We've already seen a dark and gritty Batman. We've already seen a grounded Batman. All we got was a bratty emo Batman and the Riddler in a gimp suit that looks more like Hush. And once again, we got the worst looking Joker ever.
Uh absolutely not. The Christian bale movies are better but it's not a better batman movie. It's year 2 batman so we are getting a young still learning bruce who thinks batman is his real identity while Bruce is the disguise. If you know about the year 1 comics or anything relating to that you'd know batman is a moody "emo" loner who depends on others for help especially Alfred and Gordon. In the Christopher Nolan films it completely skips this aspect. In his films Gotham does not feel or look like Gotham it looks like Chicago. The feel of the Gothic crime ridden feel is not there. The riddler feels brand new with his real life inspiration zodiac killer costume. Most people are only hating on it for either two reasons: 1. It's too long. Or 2: They never understood batman in the first place and only thinks he beats up bad guys with other supes.

I do really like how this film emphasizes Batmanâs role as a detective, not just a superhero or some brooding loner. A lot of Batman films have Batman as a badass fighter, but rarely do they show him solving a crime or doing actual detective work outside the animated shows, comics and Mask of The Phantasm. And The Riddler was a perfect fit for a story that would have Batman trying to solve a mystery.
Bruce Wayne has not yet learned to put on the mask of the billionair playboy in this film. It's intentional because Bruce Wayne's real personality is The Batman. It's Bruce Wayne who's the fake one and the Riddler points this out to Batman near the end. In this film Bruce is consumed by the Batman, because all he cares about is vengence... until the end.
It's a great movie I loved every second of they did a good job
I loved this movie. It had a gritty, dark vibe to it that really worked. Sort of like a "cleaner' version of how The Joker was. That movie had a more decay feel while 'The Batman' felt more cold and moody. And the sound design was great. When you just hear footsteps or the engine revving up. Loved it. I loved how this was more about the investigative process with Batman. There was a lot of action (some great fights), but the detective work was really good. This movie felt like Batman meets Se7en meets Zodiac. Really great movie and I can't wait to watch it again.
I don't think there was enough action in this movie, I think there was too much talking.

Personally, I loved the Dark Knight trilogy, but this one just misses the mark. It's pretty long and slow paced at times, and the story wasn't that compelling to me. 6/10. Maybe the next one will be better like the dark night series.
I loved hearing that he gets things wrong and misses things and that he's not a great detective yet and how cool is it that an actual Detective has to be looked to for help. Great way to incorporate Gordon in this one.
It was not only refreshing that we saw Batman for a grand majority of the movie, but we see *Gordon* for almost an equal amount. And a huge portion of that is working together.
You don't even need to know their history to go "oh they're CLEARLY trusted friends" within five seconds.
I absolutely love to see their chemistry together and these two knocked it out of the park. I was absolutely waiting for the "Gordon says something and he's gone when he turns around, so he gets minorly annoyed" scene and when we got it I was like "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH HE DID THE THING."
Iâm just glad we got a really good Batman movie. Edward is skinny boy đ but he pulled it off
Year one batman in every iteration if comics and TV has actually been capable just makes mistakes this batman literally achieved nothing movie every problem was solved by someone else and all his actions did was just advance the plot and plan if the riddler he didn't save a single person who would've died he didn't stop any attacks. Also did you guys not see the scene where batman eats a bomb going off 2 feet away from him and just goes to sleep for a bit, or when he calmly walks up to people shooting him like he is superman or when he is just hanging there at the end patiently letting a guy stick a gun in his face then reload it all while batman just hangs there relaxing?
