    The scariest moment in the forest is when the sounds that are around you stop being made… You have to remember that the forest is a pretty loud place. Birds live there, bugs live there, animals small and large live there. They all make sounds. Some can be heard from afar, while others you hear when too close. When those noises that you think are too close stop, the fear starts to close in on you. But you shouldn’t run from it. The worst thing to do in a forest is start running from something that chose to be silent when close to you…

    I had a really strange experience one time when I visited Yosemite park with my family. We were preparing to go out for a day hike in the valley. But as I was loading my backpack, I heard the deepest bellow/howl I’ve ever heard. The noise seemed to be getting louder and would repeat every few seconds. Until eventually it got so loud it sounded like whatever was making the sounds was no less than 30 yards away from us. As the sounds got closer, all the birds that were chirping got quiet and I got nervous for no apparent reason. The sounds continued to travel past us and sounded like they went up the hillside next to our camp and they gradually faded away until we couldn’t hear them. But it freaked us out and to this day I have no idea what could have made that noise.

Their origin is still unknown, maybe are coming from entites from other dimensions, universes, alternatives reality... Even possible and from human mind manifestation (similar as living tulpa). A few years ago I used to be woken in the 5-7am hours of the morning to what sounded like a baby crying. I live in town with neighbors all around me so I thought it must be someones baby. But it seemed to happen more frequently that expected and sounded like they were outside. One morning I decided to go outside to get a better listen found that it was a cat outside howling. The scariest thing happened to me alone and walking through a creepy dark forest one night, as I cut through the woods from my friends house, which I don't usually do but for some reason I decided to.
      The sunlight was fading and the shadows were playing tricks on my mind and stopped and realized there was no sound, like someone had suddenly muted the sound of the forest and all of a sudden I let out a tremendous fart because I was so scared, which rattled me and scared me even more, which led to another fart, and another, and another....I was suddenly trapped in a forest scared and farting like a child practicing playing the trumpet, with no way out. It was a nightmare.

    I got a freaky story of fox cries. I was at a lake campsite that I visit yearly but this time its different. I only saw one other person. I usually see cars or people using near by campsites. Like I said I camped here for years and know the woods better than most regulars. I was sitting in an old abandoned campsite I know of by the lake when a THICK fog rolled in. I have never seen anything like it in my 20ish years in living around and camping here. I was like badass a fog. It got so thick I couldn't see anything past 5 feet or so and night was coming. I convinced myself to stay till night cuz it was awesome. Than behind me I start hearing cries of a child. Gives me chills up my spine still. I ran back to my campsite and slept in my car that night. The next morning a red fox ran through my campsite which wasn't far from the old unused campsite

Well let me tell you if you've never been in a cemetery at night with no lights but the moon if your lucky is eerie enough trust me, all I had was my phone light at the time and that was it, anyway I was casually walking down to one of the sections and I was by myself too just fyi and all of a sudden I heard what sounded like a woman being murdered, scared the shit out of me I wasn't expecting to hear that and if you don't know what makes that sound then it's surely gonna be frightening for you, it was nothing but a fox of all things, foxes make some weird noises man.

    I'll tell you something, there is some weird shit that goes on in the woods of Nova Scotia, Canada. As a kid my grandfather in the early evening finished up his outside work and was in the house before dark. I always joked with him about being scared of the dark. He would just say, son the night is an entire different realm incompared to day, and that goes along with creatures. The older I get and now that I've been hunting for years. I can say, I'm out of the woods well before darkness sets in. It's as if the woods come to life. On the North Mountain where, I am from has many unexplained occurrences. Lights in the woods that beam outward with an almost heartbeat pattern, making your heart feel as if it's thumping. Strange creatures that move from tree to tree, whispers is the worst. Anyway I could go on and on. Love the video.

I know animals can make weird noises even some imitate/repeat a human language but if it's in the woods what are the chances of animals imitating human speech.

      Before I heard it, I was thinking fox, but I listened to it and that ain't no damn fox. Foxes are more higher pitched, sounding like a woman screaming. Like those typical horror movie fake screams. This sounded like a child, maybe 10-16 screaming "daddy" in a terrifying tone.
      So I guess I'm in the "skeptic" range there, even though I believe in cryptids and other "supernatural" creatures. I don't know what a Wendigo is supposed to sound like, I've only heard of it, but never heard what they're supposed to sound like

    they all make sounds, some can be heard from afar, for some you have to be pretty close.....
    and some when you think are close stop.... Then the fear starts to close to you and you shoudnt run from it, the worst thing to do in forest is start running from something that made a choice to be silent when close to you....

    I am a lifelong hunter.
    For close to 30 years, I've camped in some of the most remote, inhospitable places in western North America in all types of weather. From the high Rockies hunting elk in November in a blizzard that almost holed us in until spring, to under the hottest and windiest starry nights on the Great Plains hunting pronghorn. In all those journeys, we were never in a fifth wheel or camper trailer. It was always a tent. None of the sounds in this video are disturbing. I've heard everything from what sounded like a mountain lion scream to weird, demonic voices on the wind at 3AM. There are a lot of strange, unexplained phenomena that occur on this planet, and ALL of them have a logical explanation, I promise you that. From the magnetic field generating a resonance as the sun's UV rays skim over the atmosphere (sounds like a metallic whispering) heard in northern Wyoming in the height of summer, to the actual sound of an animal on its last breath or calling for its young in the dead of the night.
    There are sounds made by the trees right before a microburst that would scare the living daylights out of you city-slickers. In the Tetons hunting elk, I've heard a strange clap or explosion in the middle of a bright and sunny day. No cars, no guns, no known mining operations. Those are likely geothermal activity in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem as the molten rock beneath my feet crashed into water, solid rock, or the entire plate itself moved.
    We humans are awful small compared to what's out there, and so is our knowledge of the natural world. But there is no reason to get all worked up over sounds. Sounds cannot hurt you. They can signal danger or a warning, but likely they are harmless and just nature doing what it's done more millions of years.

      I heard a bobcat in Tennessee once, swore up and down it was a woman screaming in terror. called the police and everything lol. cops came out, heard the screaming, and started laughing. this actually freaked me out even more, until the told me what it was making the noises. watched a few videos on youtube with bobcats, and sure enough, that was the exact sound i heard. and even knowing it's a bobcat, that sound still makes my skin crawl.

    I was travelling through Europe in a van 30 years ago and while washing in a creek I caught sight of a man just standing, watching from the trees over the river after a few hours when the sun had dried my clothes I turned to go when the man shouted over the water
    ""tomorrow""
    I span round but he was gone.
    Later that night at a layby someone's voice whispered through the van's back doors ""tomorrow""
    I jumped out with a knife but again he was gone. This happened all the way through the Pyrenees of south France and most of Spain for 3 weeks, I was near out of my mind, furious, scared,
    nervous. No matter how far I drove, where I stopped, city or country. Every night.
    ""TOMORROW""
    until I got to the shrine at Santiago de compestela, lit a candle and though I dont believe I prayed for the first time since I was a child, also that night I sprinkled salt around my van and for the first time in over 20 nights it past 03.00 without a noise and I finally slept. I slept for 16 hours straight and never heard the voice again.

      Lol don't be arming the man?!
      He's already scared and highly strung!
      The first snap of a twig and he'll either blow his own foot off, or end indiscriminately blasting the foliage, Predator-Style 😂

    I've heard some crazy noises sitting in deer stand in East Texas. Mostly bobcats hollering, wild hogs grunting or coyotes. It never bothers me too much as I'm carrying rifle & pistol & I know we don't have any large predators in our area.

    #5 - is an elk, surprised if this guy lives in the woods and he didn’t know that..I’m from a tiny island, born and raised, and I knew that;
    #4 - that is Earth steam sounds..makes me wonder if the people that freak out about it also freak out when they put the kettle on??
    #3 - I got nothing lol but I wont be surprised at all if it turns out to just be Earth sounds again;
    #2 - Absolutely sounds like a bobcat..pet cats even sound weird when they are “talking” and yowling;
    #1 - these are my favourite unexplained sounds, it’s awesome they way they try and mimic people talking
