I'm into blender since a month. I did something for the last weekly challenge,vbut did not submit anything. Anyway, I learned so much. Modeling, volumetric light, composition, asset requisition, formatting and import, camera work and shaders, shaders, shaders 😁. Working on a tough project makes you learn so much in such a short time. It is awesome!
As a total bystander who doesn't know a thing about how you folks create these. I cant wait to see all the submissions and be amazed by the creativity and talent!

Don't worry, you would be able to learn how to do 3D animation or 3D modelling. You just need to know your place. Would recommend you watching Blender Guru, the donut series

I took a part in dynamic machines and that was literally the first ever 3d Contest I ever took part in. Got to learn soooo much stuff and new things about 3d & VFX and that was really a very good chance for me to grow and be more creative. Looking forward to the Infinite Journeys contest to learn new things & to showcase my knowledge & growth as a creative personnel in the past few months ( as I started in April 2021 ). And literally, thank you so much for bringing challenges like these. I have a good time taking part in these :)
Cool! This one is gonna be my first one! For the same reasons. Good to learn new stuff when trying. 99% is will not make the video. But 100% sure i will learn a lot

As a hobbyist often stuck in “tutorial hell”, these challenges are super motivating to complete an original project. Dynamic Machines was my first animation and I learned a ton. Thanks!

I started with 3D in 1987 and I am still learning from every project. The "tutorial hell" is a priceless gift of our "what a great time to be alive". Keep on learning! Because it never will end. The profession is extremely exhausting and satisfying after 30+ years. Those challenges are brilliant! It's learning by suffering. But this suffering leads to the bright side of the CGI force. 😎
For the next challenge, I would LOVE to see a 1st person view montage of a character running through various doors into different landscapes.

I can see that being a bit too complex for a competition that's trying to bring in a lot of competitors, animating anything human is a prick let alone making and rigging
I’m imagining this is the perfect challenge for those 3D Ghibli creators out there

I see it as it was in previous challenges - you should maintain the "shape" but not geometry

I‘ve been learning blender for the past 3 years. I can‘t wait to put all the little tricks, techniques and plugins I found to test. I just recently learned smoke sims and volumetrics so I‘m for sure gonna do something with that

Oh snap! I love the concept!! Could the dopest low-fi livestream back-drop ever. I know that a low bar but I feel the vibe is similar haha. The machines one was a bit too complex for me, but I think this one could be a great jumping off point for switching to 3d animation over from 2d. Good luck everyone!

@@goatpepperherbaltea7895 it’s more focused on the window I think, the world behind it and the characters may change but the window is in the same place moving at the same speed
yeah it will be like Finn said, it will be focused on the window, and that's what "will matter most" in the compilation
it's as if the alternative realities character were the window in this one

I'm just getting started with 3D modeling and rendering, but I'm excited to give this a try before I start my through hike on the Appalachian Trail on February 20th! Good way to spend my last few weeks in the "real world".
These projects, the render challenges are my motivation to learn Blender and this will be my first challenge, good luck to all and I'm looking forward to seeing all the amazing work that everyone will show us in this new render challenge.

if anyone is having issues with the blender file where the camera view is glitchy you can just change the clip start to 0.1 in the camera settings

I think I'll try this. I literally just started learning how to use Unreal so probably won't be able to finish in time or do anything more than a very simple landscape if even that, but it's worth a try.

I've seen these challenges before but never joined myself. I started learning Blender in January of 2021 and have used it consistently since. I'm thinking maybe I'll join this time. That Wacom tablet, Looking Glass, and the Smartgloves are all looking mighty tempting.
